I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 12
Chapter 12
“But due to my father’s business problems, our family relationship deteriorated, and we couldn’t meet anymore.”
Dekir, with tears welling up in his eyes, was a picture of someone reuniting with a precious person.
“I’m sorry, Heyna. We were even engaged, but I couldn’t protect you properly.”
Huh?
“Engaged…?”
Rose covered her mouth with both hands and exclaimed.
“Yes.”
“It doesn’t make sense. You said you met Heyna when she was five years old. But you were engaged?”
Rose voiced the thoughts I wanted to express.
Even though nobles get married early, how can you be engaged to a 5-year-old child?
In response, Dekir scratched his cheek and shyly smiled. It was a youthful look that reminded me of a boy thinking of his first love, which made it even more unbelievable.
“It’s embarrassing, but I fell in love with Heyna at first sight. Heyna treated me like an older brother, but I wanted to be more than siblings with her.”
“….”
“To be honest, even though we referred to it as an engagement, we were both too young to make it official. But my feelings for Heyna were sincere.”
After finishing his words, his gaze turned towards me, and he smiled a painful smile.
“Of course, Heyna probably doesn’t remember me…”
Rose kept exclaiming, “Oh my, oh my,” one after another. Beside her, Zion and Tommy both nodded their heads, their expressions filled with interest, as if they were watching a romantic drama.
I don’t know why the villain suddenly took my side, but for now, I decided to use him to get out of this situation.
“…Deki?” I called him softly, as if a vague childhood memory had come to mind. I even came up with a nickname to make it seem more believable.
“Heyna, do you remember?”
Dekir smiled warmly, his face filled with joy.
“Sorry. I didn’t even realize it was you, Deki…”
“No, Heyna. I couldn’t recognize you either.”
“Deki!”
“Heyna!”
Dekir pulled me into a tight embrace.
Truly, it was a perfect reunion.
‘Actually, maybe my true calling isn’t game storytelling but morning drama scripts.’
While nestled in his arms, I looked around to observe the reactions of the others.
“Oh my, such a touching reunion.”
“Forget being touched. We had doubts for no reason.”
“Exactly. I had no idea you two knew each other.”
[“Rose’s” suspicion towards “Heyna” has decreased by 1.]
[“Tommy’s” suspicion towards “Heyna” has decreased by 1.]
‘Their suspicions have lowered!’
The suspicions that had been increasing by 1 for everyone returned to their original state.
Except for one person, Zion.
Given Zion’s cautious nature, it was natural that he hadn’t withdrawn his suspicions about me yet.
Still, I’m relieved that Rose and Tommy’s suspicions have decreased.
But why did the villain help me?
‘Could it be that Dekir is not the villain?’
‘The villain is not present in this place.’
According to the hint, Dekir, a character who shouldn’t exist in the LMM is undoubtedly the villain.
However, what if Dekir is genuinely not the villain? Could there be another character in this mansion whom I haven’t met yet?
While I was racking my brain, suddenly…
“Oh? Strange characters appeared again.”
“I see it too,” said Rose and Tommy. Then Zion read the message aloud.
“Chapter 1. In Search of Lost Memories. First mission: Find the fragment in the memory room at the end of the corridor on the first floor, right side.”
In Search of Lost Memories.
Could it be because Rose hasn’t disappeared? The chapter title has changed.
“Wow. This is a real game. There’s even a reward.” Tommy chuckled and spoke.
“Memory Fragment 1 and a dessert package.”
“Why are they giving a dessert package?”
“Well, who knows. Maybe it’s a necessary item for the mission.”
“Nonsense. What can you do with a dessert package? Well, should we have a leisurely tea time here?”
“Tommy, be careful with your words. Have you forgotten who Zion is?”
Rose reprimanded Tommy’s sarcasm.
“So what? I’m just a commoner who can’t even reach the prince’s feet, huh? Should I use honorifics?”
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Well, what is it then?”
“Don’t fight; I didn’t reveal my identity to be treated differently.”
“Look, even Zion said so.”
“Please treat me comfortably. What does social status matter here? We are all people gathered here to escape together.”
“…Well, that’s true.”
As Rose looked gloomy and nodded her head, Tommy shrugged his shoulders with enthusiasm.
“Well, shall we all go to the Room of Memories together then?”
As everyone moved upon receiving the same message, I received another message alone.
【Chapter 1. In Search of Lost Memories】
[Mission] Uncover the true identity of ‘Dekir’.
(Reward) Preview of results based on choices – 1 hint.
I nodded my head after reading the mission. Well, then. There’s no way Dekir isn’t the villain.
I was already convinced that he was the villain. Now my task was to gather evidence to prove that he was the mastermind.
“Hey, Heyan.”
Suddenly, Dekir came by my side and looked down at me silently. It was as if he had someone very precious in front of him, with a faint glimmer in his eyes.
“Don’t worry. This time, I’ll protect you.”
Who protects who when he’s the villain?
I smiled and replied cheerfully, making an effort.
“Thank you, Deki.”
