I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 13
Chapter 13
As we ventured down the corridor, heading towards the Room of Memories…
“There’s a crossroad.”
“Which path do you think leads to the Room of Memories?”
Two diverging paths lay before us, a crossroads of sorts. During our journey, we had become somewhat adept at navigating the system’s functions. Among the various capabilities, two proved particularly valuable to us.
First, the map we currently rely on.
“Share the map,” Rose commanded.
Suddenly, a holographic representation of the grand mansion materialized in the air.
The map offered us the convenience of checking our location at any given moment, as well as providing a rough outline of the mansion’s structure. It was even possible to share the map with our fellow team members, enabling us to view it together. However, the map was not without its limitations. There were gaps; sections were missing or unmarked, leaving us with incomplete information.
“The map ends here.”
“Yes, it seems so.”
Regrettably, the map could not guide us to the path leading to the Room of Memories. The decision lay solely in our hands.
“If that’s the case, it may be better for us to split up and explore,” Zion proposed.
“Let’s look for it.”
Following Zeon’s suggestion, we divided into two teams.
“But how are we going to split up?” Tommy inquired. In response, Rose swiftly raised her hand.
“Let’s draw lots. I brought paper and a pen.”
Almost instantaneously, a blue azure portal materialized before us. It was another function we had discovered to be useful.
‘Originally, the ability to store items in separate inventories was a privilege reserved for players…’
Could it be that we had all, in some way, become ‘players’, as the strange system messages had suggested?
“Now, let us each draw a lot,” Rose declared with an air of excitement.
As she completed her statement, she extended her hand, holding tightly folded pieces of paper.
“How childish,” Tommy mumbled, unimpressed, as he picked up the first piece.
“Why, I find it rather delightful.”
“A splendid suggestion, Rose.”
One by one, we drew our lots, with Zion and Dekir following after Tommy.
“Now, Heyna, which lot shall you choose?” Rose inquired, turning her attention to me.
It was finally my turn.
“Heyna?”
“Um, yes.”
“Why the hesitation? Is something troubling you? You’ve seemed absent-minded for a while now…”
“Oh, it’s nothing. I was just momentarily lost in thought. My apologies.”
I mustered a feeble laugh. Though outwardly I wore a smile, inside I felt no amusement whatsoever.
The whole way here, I was deep in thought. It centered around the peculiar items nestled within my [Inventory].
‘Why the hell are those things on my inventory?’

Before leaving the dining room, Tommy surreptitiously gathered some bread from the table. Rose gazed at him curiously and inquired, “What are you up to?”
“Well, what do you think? I’m gathering food.”
“And pray tell, what purpose does that serve?”
“Are you a fool? There might be a chance for us not to be able to return here; I’m just securing some supplies.”
“What? Aren’t you the fool here? And where would you stash all that?” Rose retorted, her voice tinged with skepticism.
“I will carry it in my hands.”
“And what if, by some unfathomable occurrence, strange entities emerge once more? Are you going to run away?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.”
Observing their exchange, Dekir interjected, “Ahem, guys, check this out.”
“Huh?”
Dekir extended his finger, pointing to an empty space in the air.
“What are you looking at? There’s nothing there.” Tommy responded with a hint of incredulity.
“Ah, so it’s only visible to me.” Dekir smiled awkwardly. He seemed like a nice guy, but that made it all the more suspicious.
‘He must be putting on an act.’
Usually, characters who seem nice elude suspicion most effectively.
“I was just thinking that it would be nice to have a pocket or something to put the bread in, so all of a sudden there’s a section that says inventory.”
“What? Where? I’ll try it myself.”
Tommy squeezed his eyes shut, his brow furrowed with concentration, and then…
“Ah!”
Rose’s startled cry echoed through the air. “T-The bread has vanished!”
The bread that was once cradled securely in Tommy’s grasp had inexplicably vanished into thin air.
“What sorcery is this? How can it be?”
“Wow, the bread went into my inventory.”
“What? That doesn’t make any sense.”
“Look. I can get it out like this.” Tommy declared, extending his hand. Lo and behold, the vanished bread materialized once again, nestled gently upon his outstretched palm.
“Let me try!”
And thus, one by one, we tried putting various items into the inventory, only to retrieve them with a sense of wonder.
“Wow, this is amazing!”
“It’s like using magic.”
“This will come in handy in the future.”
“For now, I’m going to take all the food in here.”
Having already acquainted myself with the inventory capabilities, I, too, feigned astonishment to avoid standing out.
“I’ll grab some bread too.”
Silently, I opened my own inventory.
