Chapter 270

“I feel like I’ve become a child, Heli.”
Helios took Sera’s hand peeking out from the blanket, examining it closely.
Sera added another thing, sensing his concern for her physical state.
“I’m alright.”
“I know.”
But, unable to stop worrying, Helios was already sending divine power her way.
Trying to stop him, saying it might harm her body instead, he finally spoke up with some difficulty.
“Later today, Araella and Jean will come. Araella will share a few things about sealing the demon with you, and Jean will teach you some self-defense techniques to protect yourself to some extent.”
“I’ll do my best.”
Helios seemed to find it difficult even to talk about such matters, avoiding Sera’s gaze.
So, she responded more brightly to him, prompting a somewhat melancholy smile from him.
“Let me know if you need anything. Whether it’s something you want or something you wish to eat. Dresses, jewels, anything I can do for you…”
“Heli… you don’t have to do that…”
“I know. You’re not really interested in those kinds of things. But…”
He trailed off, unable to finish his sentence.
“I’ll come visit again when I have time. Get some more rest.”
Lightly touching Sera’s forehead, Helios stood up from the bed.
Before he could turn away, Sera caught his wrist.
“Before you go… Can I ask for one more thing?”
“Anything.”
Sitting back down beside the bed, Helios smiled lightly.
“Can you say it again, like last time?”
“When do you mean?”
“There’s something I want to hear.”
Helios quietly looked down at Sera, lying on the bed.
Trying to smile as if nothing was wrong, he slowly leaned closer and whispered sweetly,
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Helios gently pressed his lips against Sera’s in a fleeting kiss.
Pulling away, Sera whispered with a small sigh,
“I was the one who asked for it, but somehow, it feels like I’m whining like a child.”
“If that’s the kind of fuss you’re going to make, then I’ll make sure to do it every day. Now, try to get some more sleep.”
Helios left a light kiss on Sera’s forehead.
As he pulled away, there was a tapping sound at the window.
Helios instantly went on alert, his eyes narrowing as he searched for the source of the sound, ready to call for the magicians and knights if necessary.
Sera, feeling uneasy, sat up in bed. She squinted towards the window where the noise was coming from.
“Wait. That’s…”
Her voice trembled as she recognized the glittering silver object hitting the window.
“I… I gave that to Their Highnesses.”
* * *
All eyes in the grand hall were on Sera, or more precisely, on the small silver object in her hand.
“I gave this to Their Highnesses as a farewell gift before.”
She hadn’t expected to receive her own gift back in such a manner, and spoke with a worried look on her face.
“Are you sure it contains Their Highnesses’ voices?” Sera asked Helios.
“Absolutely.”
Helios, standing beside her, confirmed that the object indeed came from Rosé and Ferre. It contained their voices and messages.
“Could you show it to me, please?”
At Roward’s request, Sera cautiously handed over the object.
Roward received it and scrutinized the object with a serious gaze.
“It seems we can indeed track Their Highnesses’ location with this. It was originally made for sending messages, so it’s imbued with location-based magic.”
After examining it for a while, Roward cautiously looked up at Helios.
“Then, can we find where they are?”
“Of course, Your Majesty.”
Helios sighed deeply in relief and wiped his face with his hand.
Considering Sera’s concern, it seemed the siblings were in relatively good condition.
“Could it be a trap, though? A lure?”
Raphael expressed his concerns with a worried look to Helios.
It was suspicious that contact from the children had come so easily.
Helios didn’t deny the possibility.
“It’s a possibility we can’t ignore. But even if it’s a trap, there’s nothing else we can do at this point.”
“Should we assemble the army right away, then? If necessary… I can also contact the temple.”
Jean’s hesitant suggestion made Helios’s eyes waver, and a tense atmosphere spread among those present.
Everyone there knew the role Sera would play.
Mentioning contacting the temple implied preparing the priests.
It was for treating the injured, but in this context, it meant, ‘Shall we prepare for the sealing?’
That was the underlying message.
If they couldn’t find another way to locate the demon, rescuing Rosé and Ferre would provide the best opportunity.
It was a perfect ending to rescue the twins and seal the encountered demon.
“I… also…”
Helios struggled to speak, clenching his fists tightly, when Sera spoke up first.
She could feel Helios’s gaze on her.
Unable to meet his eyes, Sera turned away.
She anticipated a sad expression on his face. Seeing that would surely weaken her resolve.
Despite her determination, her lips hesitated.
Taking a deep breath, Sera steadied her heart and spoke with a firm voice.
“I will also participate in the sealing.”
