Chapter 42.1
“Do you know about that, Cassel?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Those who become Sword Masters have something they desperately want. They strive fiercely to obtain it.”
Upon hearing Leilia’s words, he raised one corner of his mouth.
“Do I need to find that out?”
“It’s my mission.”
“I see.”
Cassel paused for a moment. He gazed at the sky before he slowly turned his head and gazed at Leilia.
“There’s nothing I desperately want right now. I’ve achieved everything I wanted.”
Then, he stared at the hand holding her.
“All I want to do is to maintain the marriage as it is.”
He lifted the back of her hand and kissed it. At his tantalizing touch, Leilia lowered her head as if to hide her slightly flushed cheeks.
“I’m restraining myself because we are traveling.”
He quickly drew closer to her.
Leilia closed her eyes at the overwhelming presence that suddenly swept in. His trace left a burning sensation on her parted lips. As she let out a harsh breath, he claimed her mouth with insistence, as if he needed to delve even a little deeper.
When the kiss ended, she took a breath.
“…This is driving me crazy.”
He bit his lip as he looked at her, his eyes filled with desire.
“I shouldn’t have kissed you.”
“Cassel?”
“It feels like everything I’ve been holding back is about to explode.”
Then, he covered his face with both hands and sighed.
“It seems we should leave later tomorrow.”
Leilia felt her heart race at his words.
It seemed that, despite trying to restrain himself during the journey, he could no longer hold back his desire in the end.

Karin dried Cassel’s clothes with magic.
After dinner, they were guided to a small house. As soon as they entered the room, he roughly pushed Leilia.
“Cassel… Mmph!”
Part of him entered her mouth again. As if quenching a thirst and unleashing all the emotions he had held back until now, he pinned her against the wall and pressed against her. As she struggled to catch her breath after a while of accepting his rough kiss, he briefly pulled away from her lips before coming back in.
After the long kiss ended, Cassel seemed to regain his composure and spoke quietly again.
“Leilia’s body is so sweet.”
No, it seemed he had lost his composure even more. As he began to undress her, her clothes fell to the floor. He then laid her down on the bed and started kissing her again.
The night with him was so wonderful.
A sensation as if being soaked in sugar washed over her. Leilia, who called out Cassel’s name, embraced him without saying a word.
After the affair, he kissed her drowsy back.
“I feel like I’m going crazy.”
He embraced her from behind.
“Leilia.”
He called her name tenderly.
The sweet sensation seeped in, and in a dazed state, the pleasure continued as the lingering feeling followed.
Leilia trembled slightly.
The world was peaceful, and she was naked with him like this.
She felt the happiness creeping into her.
Even though she didn’t want to ask in this atmosphere, she had to do it. If she hadn’t asked now, it would have been even more difficult to ask later.
“Did you have something you wanted in the past?”
“Do you mean me?”
“A woman you loved…”
At that, Cassel’s actions stopped.
His silence made her uneasy. Wanting to at least see his expression, she quickly tried to break free from his embrace and turn around, but he pulled her back tightly.
“It’s already a thing of the past.”
Her back pressed against his chest.
It was so warm.
“I already have a wife, and this is where I belong.”
He said this as if making a vow. As if he intended to stay here forever.
“What I want right now is this happiness.”
It was as if he was saying that her existence was his happiness.
His words gave her a little happiness.
That happiness slowly seeped in, until Leilia returned to the group.
8. What Is Frightening Isn’t Despair, but Hope.
Leilia, brushing her long brown hair behind her ear, looked at the teacup in front of her. Cassel had suggested a simple tea time before they departed, so she was having tea with him. Since he insisted on brewing the tea himself, she waited, and now he handed her the teacup, which seemed to be ready.
“I don’t know if it will suit your taste.”
He looked at her with a mixture of expectation and anxiety. Leilia held the cup and drank it slowly, savoring it. The sweet aroma of the tea filled her nose.
“Hmm.”
After tasting it, she looked at the teacup once more.
“It’s delicious.”
“I’m glad to hear that.”
“Where did you learn to make this?”
Leilia asked, curious about how he had brewed the tea so sweetly. Cassel responded by tapping the teapot silently.
