The Reason Why She Can’t Get Married - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
“Oh, one more thing.”
“….”
“I just wanted to let you know; I didn’t follow you here.”
Noel pointed to the waiting room behind her and spoke brightly.
“My carriage is also there.”
Oh, God. Please.
“I came here to take my carriage too; if I made you misunderstand, I’m sorry.”
She wanted to faint, and her rationality was disturbed because the other person was Noel Rattliffe. Selena looked at Noel while crying in her mind.
“I’m sorry…”
“You don’t need to apologize to me. It’s okay; don’t worry about it.” Noel rejected Selena’s apology generously and mercifully. How could she not worry about it…?
Noel assured her. If Noel decided on not letting this go, she’d have no chance of being able to turn away.
How can he ignore this misunderstanding? It will seem like she keeps making the same mistake.
“I don’t have your bag with me right now, so I can’t return it. I’ll bring it to the lady’s office later.”
“….”
“Take care, Lady Selena Irving.”
Noel turned around and went to the waiting room first, saying Selena’s name in a rhythmic pronunciation.
Selena, who was left alone like a stiff statue, glanced around.
She was worried about her mental state.
“Uh, boss. Are you okay…?”
“Randy.”
“Yes, yes.”
“Would you please put in a request with the guild you know as soon as possible?”
“What kind of request…?”
“To hit the back of my head hard on the night road.” Selena bit her mouth. She felt like she wanted to just die, whether it was due to marriage or whatever.

Selena regained her mind after lying on the handmade red velvet sofa for an hour.
“Lucy, send someone to the duchy of Ratliffe and ask them to get my bag. I might die of embarrassment if I see the duke for the third time.”
“Okay, my lady. I’ll send someone to pick it up.”
Selena, who had calmed down a bit, took a deep breath and sat up straight on the sofa.
The problem wasn’t the duke, but the princess.
She had failed to refuse the request with smooth words, so she decided to approach the root cause.
Why was the Crown Prince opposed to the relationship between the princess and Dominic Dixon?
Because he cherishes his younger sister? But it didn’t appear that way.
And besides…
‘Even for Dominic Dixon, marriage might be difficult, but as a lover…’
Of course, it was impossible to be a match for the princess, but Dominic Dixon was a decent Marquess. Although he couldn’t become the heir because of his older brother, his family and conditions were not bad. In fact, many people were surprised when he joined the royal knights.
The Marquess of Dixon would be able to pass on another lucrative title and fortune to his next son, so he wasn’t the kind of man to hold a knife to someone’s throat. Nor was he the kind of man who was stuck between factions. He also wasn’t a man who had seen many women in his life and had broken up with many times over. In this age of free love, he was not the kind of man to get carried away with a relationship. Folding her arms in thought, Selena slowly spoke up.
“Randy, when did Lemon say he was coming?”
“He said he would come tomorrow morning.”
“I see. And Lucy.”
“Yes, my lady.”
This time, Selena, who called Lucy, hesitated for a moment and said, “Can you find out the Crown Prince’s schedule for this week?”
“Pardon? What do you need it for?” Lucy asked, lifting her glasses at the sudden request.
Hmmm. Selena replied, with her chin resting on her hand. “I think I need to meet him.”

Selena wakes up at 7 a.m. every morning and goes to the office until 9 a.m. The office of Serenade was located in the most prosperous downtown area of the capital city, and the building was painted pink, making it stand out wherever they looked. She arrived at work on time as usual and noticed someone sitting on the sofa in front of her desk.
Someone whose light beige hair glistened with moisture and whose features made Selena’s lips form a smile. She closed the door and cheerfully called out the person’s name.
“Lemon, were you waiting for me?”
Lemon, who was sitting there, turned to look at Selena.
An androgynous face beamed at her as soon as he saw her. Even with the common brown eyes and hair, Lemon was undeniably more beautiful than the Duke Ratliffe or the Emperor.
“It’s been a while, Ms. Selena.”
Besides his pretty face, Lemon’s voice was very low. It was like it was pulled from an underwater cave. A kind face with a not-so-kind voice. Utterly perfect.
“When did you get here?”
“I arrived 10 minutes ago.”
“I see. I should have come earlier.”
“No, I’m sorry for coming to the empty office first.”
Lemon bowed his head politely. With just a smile, he could steal someone’s soul, but he was surprisingly honest and naive.
“You’re still so stiff, even after we haven’t seen each other for so long. Ah.” Selena playfully pinched Lemon’s soft and smooth cheek. Even though it might have hurt, Lemon didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he just lowered his head and let Selena hold onto them. How can a person be so consistent and cute?
“You’re such a cutie.” Selena let go of Lemon’s soft cheeks and ruffled his hair. As he looked at Lemon’s face, which was smiling without any complaints, Selena suddenly remembered their first meeting. It had been a year since Selena met Lemon, the top informant for Serenade.
