The Omega Princess and Her Two Leashes - Chapter 99
Chapter 99
Someone hiding in the doorway lunged at Diabolus as she stepped out. The swiftly drawn blade seemed poised to slice through her.
“No!”
Horrified, Leybid instantly charged forward, deflecting the attack. As the assailant fell, a thrown dagger grazed Leybid’s cheek.
“Gah…!”
“Oh dear.”
Diabolus, having been thrown the dagger, widened her eyes, visible behind her mask.
“Why would you jump in like that? It was dangerous.”
“You were in danger!” Leybid’s face paled as he shouted, and Diabolus scoffed in disbelief.
“Dangerous? You’ve seen me handle daggers before.”
She was right. Diabolus, or rather, Arlenrose, was exceptionally skilled with daggers. Even more so than Leybid had vaguely guessed, judging by the muscles he’d seen on her.
Arlenrose, wielding her blades in earnest, was a chilling sight. Her movements were too fast to follow, her strikes precise and deadly. Watching from the sidelines, Leybid repeatedly questioned his own eyes.
This was far removed from any knightly swordsmanship he’d ever witnessed. Her dagger work was closer to an assassin’s technique. Trained in conventional swordplay, Leybid found it utterly unpredictable.
Arlenrose von Fleurose was strong. Leybid had realized this time and again since entering the estate. While the revolutionary army, having already seized the mansion, had cleared a path, and the freed Omegas cooperated, the journey here had been anything but easy.
Attacks came from all directions, each one met with a flurry of combat and neutralized by Arlenrose’s daggers.
Witnessing this up close so many times, a chilling thought occurred to Leybid. Perhaps Arlenrose had been keeping him alive this whole time.
Certainly, she wasn’t skilled enough to defeat him in a direct confrontation. But her fighting style wasn’t meant for formal duels; it was specialized for ambushes and assassinations.
She likely could have killed him instantly at any time. Hadn’t he seen the daggers strapped to her thighs during their first encounter? Arlenrose had only refrained because the discovery of the Imperial Crown Prince’s corpse in her quarters would have been inconvenient.
The thought sent shivers down Leybid’s spine, exacerbated by the constant whizzing of daggers near his face. He couldn’t shake the suspicion that she was wielding them with little regard for his safety.
The problem was, despite knowing how strong she was, his body reacted before his mind could process the danger whenever Arlenrose was threatened. Just like a moment ago. His heart leaped into his throat every single time, driving him mad.
“You would have been much more comfortable staying put. Why did you insist on following me?” Arlenrose muttered absently, mistaking Leybid clutching his chest for something else entirely. As she turned away from him, still catching his breath, he quickly followed.
The reason he had followed her here?
Of course, part of it was to avoid being knocked unconscious again.
But more importantly, Leybid had a clear objective today. It wasn’t about s*x with Arlenrose. It was about sharing something other than intimacy. It was about experiencing something unique together, deepening their understanding of each other.
Although the reality was quite different from what he’d imagined, hadn’t he achieved his goal?
Leybid was satisfied. Even as he watched Arlenrose’s impassive profile as Graham and the butler’s bodies were displayed on the wall, and the revolutionary flag was raised on the highest point of the mansion.
They had gone on a date, after all.
And they had evaded Camin Modreo together.
Leybid savored the secret satisfaction of that thought.

Villainess No.121
I love that the author made a surprisingly strong and purposeful female lead. Unlike so many Korean novels were even if fl possesses powers or has a high status, she literally lacks intelligence and wisdom. They get fooled and played by the people around them and become even dumber than those villainesses chasing after male leads. They make the worst decisions yet they blame it on their past traumas.
Also the fact that Arlenrose can differentiate and manage each part of her life separately is so realistic and adult-like.
Now when i see Arlenrose i feel so happy and proud. I hope the author keeps her this way till the end. And the fact that Leybid is not going to see her just as a body or even a weakling naive princess but rather a strong person with her own strengths and personality equal to him. He’s cute. And i can’t wait for more personality developments of both leads.
