The Omega Princess and Her Two Leashes - Chapter 98
Chapter 98
The butler’s breathing grew ragged under Graham’s furious barrage. He bowed his head, barely containing his emotions.
“I apologize, Master.”
“Have you contacted the authorities? Why haven’t they arrived?”
“That’s because…” the butler looked up, his eyes blazing with unconcealed animosity. “No one out there wants to help you, Master.”
“…What?”
“Hah…” The butler sighed, a sneer twisting his lips. “Think about it, Master. Why would anyone help the man who hoards the remaining omegas? What’s in it for them? They’d rather see you ruined.”
“You…!” Graham’s eyes widened in shock at the butler’s sudden defiance. In the next instant, a blade flashed, slicing across his throat. Blood sprayed as he collapsed. The butler erupted in manic laughter.
“Hahaha! You fool! Did you think I’d grovel at your feet forever? I’ve been waiting for this! I’ve been waiting for this moment!” He bellowed, his bloodshot eyes sweeping over the remaining omegas. “Now these omegas are mine! All mine!”
“I think not.” A low, gravelly voice cut through the butler’s triumphant cry. Someone kicked the door open and strode in. Clad in a black coat and a silver mask, the figure’s appearance made the butler recoil in terror.
“Diabolus…!”
A dagger flew, burying itself in the butler’s chest. Diabolus kicked the staggering butler to the ground.
“Nothing but trash.”
Diabolus clicked her tongue, then calmly retrieved the dagger from the corpse, wiping it clean on the dead man’s clothes before returning it to its sheath. It was a practiced, emotionless movement. Another masked figure stood nearby, trembling as they watched.
“Merciless.”
“Should I have shown mercy?” Diabolus asked, glancing at the other figure.
“You’ve certainly killed before.” A laugh escaped from behind the second mask.
“Of course. Did you think the leader of a revolution could reach this position without getting their hands dirty?” The low, gravelly voice, even in laughter, was a chilling contrast to the usual tone of the princess.
‘Is that really Arlenrose behind that mask?’ Leybid, also masked, shuddered as he listened.
Arlenrose Vi Fleurose, the princess of Fleurose, was truly Diabolus, the leader of the Demonas revolutionaries.
Leybid had suspected it from their first meeting, but hadn’t pursued it. It hadn’t seemed relevant. The princess’s omega status was weakness enough to exploit. Why bother with further investigation?
Diabolus, Demonas, the omega liberation movement… these were not the Empire’s concern. Their target was the Kingdom, not the Empire. The Luversiana Empire, unlike Fleurose, had already improved omega rights. They weren’t a target.
Leybid had believed that then, and he believed it now. That’s why he’d been content to watch from a distance.
While they spoke, other revolutionaries led the remaining omegas away. One of them gestured towards the two corpses.
“Diabolus, we agreed to hang Graham’s body from the walls… what about the butler?”
“A waste to let a perfectly good corpse go to waste. Hang him beside Graham.”
“You came to deal with Graham yourself, but ended up dealing with the butler instead.”
“Does it matter? They’re both trash.” Diabolus let out another dry, chilling laugh. Leybid looked away, trying to ignore the sound.
As they turned to leave, a voice rang out, making them turn back.
“Diabolus! You arrogant omega! Die!”
