Berry and Tanya, ecstatic as they were, stared at Radis’s back with twinkling eyes as she left the room.
Berry said,
“The person who sent Her Ladyship a whoooole bunch of presents when she went to the capital last time was the Third Prince. You know that, right?”
“Yes, yes. He sent ten entire boxes of that really, really delicious cake.”
Berry’s eyes went round.
“Don’t you think that His Highness came all the way here just for Lady Radis?”
Tanya gasped.
“Maybe…!”
“Then His Highness the Third Prince… has feelings for Lady Radis?”
“Whoa…!”
They covered their mouths to stifle their exclamations.
With both hands over her lips, Berry continued.
“Then, then… Will our lady become a princess…?”
“Princess…!”
Dazed for a moment as they stood close together, Berry and Tanya suddenly hugged each other.
“Kyaaaaah!”
“Oh my gosh, that’d be so nice!”
“Lady Radis will become Princess Radis? Wow, wow, woooow!”
“Kyaaaaaaaah!”
Very, very excitedly, they jumped in place as they continued to hug each other.

Olivier was staying in the emerald room, the best guest room in the entirety of the marquis’s residence.
In addition to having a spacious study and its own drawing room, the emerald room also had a modest banquet hall and a private garden, and breakfast was being served in the drawing room overlooking that private garden.
As Olivier had yet to arrive, Radis waited for him there, sipping her tea as she was sitting by herself at the table.
After a while, Olivier appeared.
“I’m sorry.”
One glimpse at him and Radis nearly spat out the tea she was sipping.
“I was the one who invited you, but I’m late…”
“I-I-I-It’s alright…!”
“I felt quite lethargic this morning.”
His hair, which was usually kept neat, looked a bit messy today.
His eyes, where drowsiness had yet to abate, were a bit swollen pink, yet were as dazzling as ever.
It hadn’t been long since he washed his face, and so moisture was left upon his rich eyelashes and red lips.
It might be because he was in a comfortable space, but he wasn’t even wearing a jacket over his attire.
Through the buttons left open upon his blindingly immaculate white silk shirt, his creamy smooth skin could be seen.
After sitting a little crookedly in his seat, Olivier swept his long hair over with his large hand and faced Radis.
“I will be sure to never keep you waiting again next time.”
Completely dazed, Radis was nearly overcome by the urge to clap like a seal at the prince’s marvelously beautiful appearance.
“N-N-No… I-It’s no bother…!”
If Radis were to be quite truthful, even if he was to make her wait for over an hour, just one look at his face was enough to allow her to forgive him.
Olivier smiled brightly.
He rubbed the back of his neck and ordered his attendants to bring out the food.
It might be because he was feeling weaker in the morning, but it felt as if everything about him—his eyes, his expressions, his gestures—were more relaxed than usual.
Elbow on the table and chin on one palm, Olivier made eye contact with Radis and smiled at her.
At the sight of that innocent, flawless smile, Radis felt like she was on the verge of having a nosebleed.
Fortunately for her, the food came out quickly.
“Ah, ahahaha… P-Please eat a lot, Lord Olivier!”
Shortly after saying this, Radis realized.
‘Why am I the one saying that when he’s the one who invited me? Ahhh, idiot…’
But Olivier just smiled despite her foolish remark.
Radis looked at him. Still with his chin resting upon one hand, he smiled languidly.
At that, Radis’s eyes flitted directly towards one corner of the marble table.
‘I can’t hit my forehead with my fist. I can’t hit my forehead with my fist…’
If she’d do that, she might really break her skull.
‘Keep your wits about you, Radis. Just focus on eating.’
Radis looked down at the soup bowl.
It was soup made with precious freshwater crayfish from a spring.
Even though it was just breakfast, Brendon seemed to be pulling out all stops because it was a meal for a member of the imperial family.
As she took a spoonful of the soup, Radis’s eyes went round.
“Wow, this is delicious!”
“That’s good. Eat a lot, Radis.”
Radis had to make a very, very good effort to keep her eyes off Olivier’s long, graceful fingers as he was using a fork to mix his salad.
While spreading jam over a soft slice of bread, Radis spoke.
“Your Highness, you must still be feeling tired. You should have slept in.”
As he heard those words, Olivier’s eyes suddenly twinkled.
“I’m alright. I’m back in the southern region for the first time in a long while, so I can’t hold back my excitement.”
Olivier’s smile was as fresh as a lemon.
“I heard that spring comes one step ahead in the south compared to the north, and I see that it’s true. The garden is already so verdant as well… I’d like to go horseback riding around here.”
“The forest nearby is beautiful as well.”
“That’s nice to hear. Is it close?”
What flashed through Radis’s head was the image of the beautiful Olivier on a white horse with he woods as his background.
But with a dagger flying straight towards him.
‘Huhk.’
Radis suddenly came back to her senses.
“Your Highness, may I have the honor of showing you around?”
Smiling with his eyes drawn into crescent moons, Olivier replied.
“Of course.”
Somehow in a reverential mood, Radis asked for another bowl of soup.
‘If I want to protect His Highness, I need to eat well.’
Fortunately, Radis was well-versed in the geography of this area.
She diligently scarfed down her meal while recalling the safest and most attractive route around here.
And as he was watching Radis, Olivier smiled contentedly.
