Chapter 247

—
Time flew by, and the day of David’s wedding arrived. Not only the invited guests but also unexpected visitors came to bless them, making it a hectic day.
The old mansion, being spacious and large, could accommodate many guests.
Watching the happy couple, Violet and David, I too looked forward to tomorrow.
David and I had decided to hold our respective weddings on two consecutive days. Since winter was approaching and it could be postponed to next year otherwise, it was a decision made out of necessity.
Ciel’s opinion also played a part in this decision. It would have been difficult to hold weddings on consecutive days if it weren’t in the same place, but he was the one who suggested to our parents to hold it here.
The parents felt it was such a shame because it could have been more glamorous if it was held at the grand ducal residence, but Ciel and I didn’t mind. After all, it was our second wedding.
By the point where our hearts were already beating as one, the wedding ceremony wasn’t such an important event for us.
The reception went on until late at night, but I returned to my room in the middle of it. I had to go to bed early for tomorrow.
“Milady, shall I light some aroma candles for you?”
“Yes, that sounds great.”
“Yes, you need a good sleep for your makeup to look good tomorrow.”
“Then, please.”
The bedroom filled with a pleasant scent. Watching the candle gently glowing in the dark, I fell asleep and dreamed.
I dreamt of Korea, which I hadn’t seen for such a long time.
It was a place I knew, but it seemed different. The Korea of the past was shrouded in a bleak atmosphere.
It wasn’t to the extent that daily life was impossible, but it was a world where people died every day, so it couldn’t be blindly optimistic.
However, I didn’t feel that atmosphere at all this time.
It didn’t seem like monsters were absent, though. On a large screen atop a building, I saw a familiar face.
Esper Kang Tae-joon was speaking, and the event hosts and panelists appearing with him seemed very happy.
On the screen, the subtitle read, 〈 The Goddess’s Blessing, finally complete 〉. I was automatically drawn to the words 〈 The Goddess’s Blessing 〉.
Then, someone pushed me and passed by.
Without realizing it, I looked up and was shocked to the point of nearly fainting.
A woman who looked exactly like me from the past was rushing somewhere.
So, I followed her, feeling like I had to.
The woman, resembling Yoo Seohyun, seemed to be late for an appointment, sweating profusely as she ran into a cafe. I hurriedly followed her inside.
“Taejoon-sshi!”
The woman called out to someone, and that person gently smiled back and answered,
“Seohyun-sshi.”
I was shocked to see the person who was just on the screen. The two acted as though they were a couple.
It was strangely unfamiliar and peculiar to see Kang Tae-joon, an Esper I had occasionally met in the past, and a woman looking like Yoo Seohyun together.
Wondering if Ciel was nearby, I looked around.
In the past, whenever Esper Kang Tae-joon called for me, Ciel would appear as if by magic, but this time, no one was around.
The two sat facing each other, drinking coffee and blossoming into conversation.
I watched them without much thought. Soon after, the two left, arms around each other’s shoulders and waists, clearly looking like a couple, which felt strangely surreal.
Suddenly, the scene changed, and I found myself in a familiar place, encountering Kang Tae-joon and the woman resembling Seohyun again.
The two entered an elevator with serious expressions.
I couldn’t hear their conversation clearly, but one thing was distinct,
‘The Goddess’s Blessing.’
