I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 140
The story that I couldn’t understand sounded like an attempt to divert my attention. Did he expect me to ask ‘Oh, really?’ to such a strange story?
“Enough, don’t deflect your fault onto others. Don’t act as if killing Louise Hitty erases your crime.”
“But as long as she exists, Euseniel.”
Tess, who had been leaning against the window, took a step towards me.
“Wouldn’t you feel uncomfortable every time you see her?”
“You would, I suppose.”
“There’s not much in this world that doesn’t bother me, so it doesn’t matter. That person is just inherently annoying to me.”
In the midst of the increasingly convoluted conversation, I declared my purpose for coming here.
“If the Hitty family didn’t truly commit a crime, just let them be.”
“Don’t go, Euseniel.”
As soon as I finished speaking and turned to leave, my wrist was grabbed.
“I will erase Hitty from this world.”
“Tessvalun!”
“I don’t know any other way.”
The pitch-black eyes without a hint of light bore into my neck.
“I only know how to solve problems this way.”
The muffled voice scraped my eardrums, and the large hands clasped tightly around my wrist. A faint scent, more alluring me than ever.
“If there’s another way, tell me, Euseniel.”
Something touched my lips, but I couldn’t comprehend what was happening. It was only in the chill of the lips that finally brought me to my senses.
“Don’t play games!”
Annoyingly, the fact that Tess’ lips had made contact with me made my heart flutter. Clenching my fists, I felt pathetic for reacting this way.
“Don’t try to get through like this, Tessvalun.”
“My Euseniel.”
Tess, as if not hearing my words, tried to grab me again.
“Don’t touch me.”
“No, Euseniel.”
The suppressed tone felt dangerously intense. It felt like something might explode at any moment. I took a step back, but Tess’ grip on my wrist was too strong.
Still clad in a cloak with droplets of water, Tess pulled me closer. His soft lips brushed against my earlobe.
“Stay by my side.”
With a firm restraint and the tongue digging in my mouth accepted no refusal.
“Uht.”
The unfamiliar tongue ruthlessly explored my mouth, but somewhere it felt sad. The hands that hugged me were desperate, and it seemed like sadness was emanating from Tess, making it difficult to push him away.
Meanwhile, the smooth movements of the supple flesh gradually softened, focusing intensely on the sensitive areas that made me loosen the strength on my legs and lean into his embracing body.
“Uung.”
However, startled by the sound of my own moan, I pushed back from the broad shoulders.
“Euseniel.”
In response, an even stronger force tightened around me, and my upper body was pressed against the firm chest. The hardened tips on my chest screamed with excitement, but oddly, it cleared my mind.
“Don’t play games, Tessvalun.”
I glared at Tess, whom I had just pushed away with all my strength.
“It’s your fault, it’s what you’ve done. Don’t pass the blame onto others.”
“….”
“If you want to kill Louise Hitty or her family, go ahead. Then see what becomes of me.”
No, it’s not like that, but it seemed like Tess was crying. Like the rain beating against the window.
With some effort, I managed to pull my feet away and headed towards Tate Palace. Finding the bright place among the other buildings in the palace was easy.
“Gael?”
But my sister is nowhere to be seen. Unable to call out loudly, I wandered around the palace in dismay, but there was no sign of her.
“Gael!”
Calling out a little louder, I frantically searched for my sister in the rain, and fortunately, the rain began to subside. As my vision cleared, I soon spotted Gael appearing from behind the palace.
“Gael?”
“Sis, Sister?”
Even in the darkness, Gael’s flushed cheeks looked odd. I touched her forehead.
“You don’t have a fever, but you look flushed. What happened?”
“Uh, ung? Nothing?”
Gael quickly shook her head, and as suspicious as it seemed, there was no point in pressing her further.
“Let’s go, Gael.”
We hurried through the drizzling rain. This time, I was the one leading the way.
Fortunately, we were able to reach our room without anyone noticing, and we were able to greet the morning as if nothing had happened.
During mealtime, Gael seemed strangely excited, and it seemed that even our parents noticed.
“Gael, did something good happen? You seem happy.”
“Yes?”
Still unable to hide her emotions properly, my sister blinked.
“If something good happened, tell Mom too, okay?”
“The, the jam was delicious! This was the one May sent, right?”
With her ears turning red, Gael poured a huge amount of jam on her bread, and soon she seemed to be in trouble.
“Hnng.”
Although it seemed suspicious, I pretended not to notice it, as I was preoccupied with the issue of what would happen to Marquisate Hitty from yesterday.
The tumultuous incident was resolved with Louise Hitty’s exile. When Father returned home after several days, he heaved a sigh of relief, and it seemed that peace had finally settled for a while.
However, a few days later, the storm began again with the Chancellor’s visit to Hardland.
“I apologize for coming without notice.”
The middle-aged Chancellor apologized to my father.
“It’s all right, Your Excellency. Have you had your meal? It’s almost dinner time. If you’re okay, why don’t we go to the dining hall together?”
“Thank you for the suggestion, but I don’t have the luxury right now… Ah, with the Lady’s help, I might be able to have a proper meal in ten days.”
“Euel?”
Father’s voice, which had been calm all day, suddenly rose.
“Exactly.”
“Euel, stay inside.”
