Chapter 70

* * *

Terrion recalled the memory from a few days ago, of Kiris appearing like a comet when his life was hanging in the balance.

‘How bothersome.’

‘Who…?’

He clicked his tongue and released a powerful magical force. Terrion’s eyes widened at the intense surge of magical power that made his hands tingle.

And then, in an instant.

The advanced demons turned to ash and disappeared.

He waved his hand as if it were a bother, and the situation was resolved.

When Terrion regained his senses, he naturally learned that he was the youngest Tower Lord, Kiris.

The red eyes staring at him without a single wound. It was so intense that it sent shivers down his spine and filled him with awe. The sight of him sweeping away the demons with overwhelming power still lingered in Terrion’s mind.

“Still, it’s much easier to deal with the advanced demons because of the help from the Tower Lord.”

“That’s true, but… Why do I have to do all the cleaning up…”

Louis wailed with a mournful expression.

“Do you think you’re the only Tower Lord? Hey, you evil boss! I should have been escorting Lady Rosette… Then I would have gotten… candy canes…”

Although he didn’t trust Louis as an aide, he trusted the Tower Lord’s judgment. Of course, Louis was also a powerful mage.

Terrion turned his head at the sound of footsteps.

“My lord, I have a letter.”

“A letter?”

“Yes! It’s from Princess Aria.”

“Thank you.”

Terrion accepted the letter. He had been collecting the letters that arrived every day since he went on the subjugation.

At first, he had thought he would be back in a few months, but as the period became longer than expected, he felt sorry for Aria.

[To Brother Terrion…]

A smile came to his face without him realizing it. Terrion read the letter without knowing what expression he was making.

Aria’s letter contained her usual daily stories, but today was a little different.

Soon, his eyes became serious.

‘Rosette…?’

In her last letter, Aria had said that she had made a friend at the banquet and was so happy she could cry, which had relieved Terrion.

He had felt guilty for not being able to attend the banquet because of the demon subjugation, but he was glad that she had made a good friend.

[…If possible, I would like to invite Rosette. I’m sure the Tower Lord would understand. Just say it’s tea time with a friend…]

Aria seemed worried that Rosette would refuse tea time. Terrion thought about it while writing a reply, saying that it was okay and that he would be happy.

Rosette, who came to the banquet, was the Tower Lord’s partner.

Terrion’s mind went cold. As befitting the successor of a duke, he thought rationally.

‘The esteemed Tower Lord’s partner is Aria’s friend…’

The Eckart ducal family had a deep connection with the Magic Tower. It was a cooperative relationship that had lasted for a long time.

Terrion knew that, but he didn’t have a very good impression of mages.

It was because of his personal prejudices and the fact that they never directly intervened in anything that happened.

‘Tower Lord…’

However, now that Terrion had witnessed the Tower Lord’s power, his perception of mages had changed, and he respected him.

Terrion, who purely wanted to maintain a friendly relationship with him, thought it was a good opportunity.

‘Surely, she must be a great mage like Tower Lord.’

As the future lord, Terrion was satisfied with this unexpected situation. It was because he could now understand Tower Lord’s sudden action of helping him after receiving the request.

Terrion felt an inexplicable curiosity about Rosette.

Terrion, who had written a reply and handed it to the knight, stared at the monsters that were swarming in front of him.

Creak—

Louis, who had shaken off the dust and gotten up, said with a motivated gesture.

“Oh my. Sir Terrion, this is not the time for this. Let’s quickly kill the monsters and go back!”

Louis cast magic, and the knights joined him. Terrion, who saw their backs, kicked the ground and ran with aura wrapped around his sword.
