I Became the Villain's Master - Chapter 69
Chapter 69
Hearing about the dire financial straits my family was in, I had a feeling my family would come looking for me someday. Of course, I expected Lionel, who harbored a grudge against me, to come, but I didn’t expect Leila to come.
Suddenly, I recalled the letter from Leila saying she would visit my house.
‘Is it that urgent?’
There was no way that Leila, with her strong pride, would come on her own accord. She must have come at the behest of my family.
“Mistress, are you really going to meet her?”
“Yes. I want to have a conversation with her. Kiris, can you step aside for a moment?”
“As you wish.”
“Thank you.”
Kiris chuckled and teleported away. I took a deep breath. It was terrifying to be related by blood with her, but when faced with it, I couldn’t just turn her away. I couldn’t fathom Leila’s intentions, but I didn’t think she would try to harm me. She must have heard the rumors of me attending the banquet as the Tower Lord’s partner.
Thud-
“Sister, how have you been?”
I opened the door to see a familiar face.
“Leila. It’s been a while.”
Leila, speaking in a friendly manner, seemed unchanged from before. She wore a glamorous dress and exuded confidence from head to toe. Despite meeting my younger sister after a long time, I felt strangely unemotional.
“Why are you here, Leila?”
“Hmm. Just because? I was curious about how you were doing. I asked Brother Lionel for your address.”
Leila stared at me with narrowed eyes.
“Why? Sister? Is it because you don’t want me here?”
“That’s not it…”
“Then I’ll just impose on you. Is that okay?”
Without waiting for my reply, Leila looked around my house in admiration.
“Wow. Your house is really nice.”
Leila’s eyes sparkled with innocence, but I knew that expression. The true face hidden beneath the mask of kindness and beauty.
‘My sister can’t wear a better dress than me.’
Leila had always tried to take everything I had. When she looked at me with her innocent eyes and smiled brightly, it was almost as if she truly believed she was doing the right thing. However, Leila only saw me as a tool to be used and treated as an inferior.
“Leila. Shall we sit down and talk? Mary, can you bring us some tea?”
“Yes, Miss.”
A moment later, Mary set the table and we had tea time. Sunlight streamed in through the small window, creating a peaceful afternoon.
“It seems like you’re better off here, Sister? You don’t seem to have any intention of returning to the family. I’ve been so worried about you, I haven’t been able to sleep properly.”
Leila sipped her tea and pursed her lips.
“But you’re doing well. You even have two maids.”
“Well, I’m receiving support.”
I decided to speak shamelessly. After all, Leila would know that I was under the protection of the mages.
My words made Leila’s face crease even more.
“Support from the Tower Lord’s mages? I don’t understand why you’re receiving support. Honestly, you’re not good at anything.”
“…So why did you come here? You must have heard from Brother.”
“I came because I was worried about you. I’m glad to see you’re doing well. But Sister.”
Leila asked with a sly smile.
“Where is the Tower Lord?”
“What…”
“I’ve heard the rumors. Our family wasn’t invited to the banquet this time. Well, that’s understandable. Our family’s influence in the capital is waning.”
Leila continued.
“I heard you attended as the Tower Lord’s partner?”
“….”
“Or not?”
I tried not to show my surprise and smiled.
“No, Leila. How could I possibly be acquainted with the Tower Lord? As you know, I don’t have those kinds of connections.”
“Is that so? I heard he had silver hair, but that can’t be the case.”
“Yes, that’s why it’s impossible, no matter how long you wait, to meet the Tower Lord you’re looking for. …Is that why you came here?”
“I left home, so could you take responsibility for me, Sister?”
What is she talking about now?

Puff-
Terrion looked down at the demon’s corpse with indifference and pulled out the embedded sword. Dark blonde hair and purple eyes.
An appearance and swordsmanship that seemed to have been inherited from Duke Eckart. Terrion, the successor to the Eckart dukedom, was in the midst of hunting down demons.
“It’s finally over.”
Terrion lowered his sword after taking the last breath of the intermediate-level demon. They would be safe for a few days at least.
Terrion shook off the purple blood and turned his head.
“My lord. We have cleaned up this area. Shall we dispose of the corpses?”
The knights who received his gaze approached and prostrated themselves. They looked weary as they looked at the mountain of beast corpses.
“Yes. You’ve worked hard.”
The knights rose from their positions and moved to collect the corpses as Terrion nodded.

It had been two years since he had started the subjugation of the demons.
Although there had been frequent outbreaks of demons in the past, there had never been this many demons on the move.
The cause was the strange movements detected in the ‘Forest of Darkness’, known to be the habitat of the demons.
Terrion thought that he, as the successor, should step forward, and immediately led his knights to begin the subjugation.
However, even Terrion, who had just entered the realm of Swordmaster, had a hard time dealing with the advanced demons that were swarming in like a tidal wave.
“Ugh… I’m going to die.”
Unbeknownst to him, he had received unexpected support, which had made the subjugation go smoothly.
“Sir Louis. It might be a good idea to rest for a bit.”
“Shall we?”
“Yes.”
Louis, his eyes tired, collapsed to the ground as soon as he said that.
“No… Why did Sir Kiris leave me to do everything…”
