Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 282
Chapter 282
The employees regarded the baby, who resembled the Grand Duke, with mixed feelings.
What if she inherited the temperament of the Valentines as well?
It was hard to dismiss it as mere prejudice when there were too many precedents.
Lloyd.
Tristan.
And the previous, previous, previous Grand Dukes too.
Those with a strong Valentine bloodline had spoken chilling words with a totally not child-like expression from a young age and casually killed intruders.
They raised fierce beasts that hunted down people like domesticated pets and treated them like their limbs.
That’s why they all hoped the baby would be as adorable as the young Madam when she was a child!
“Abu!”
“So adorable…”
Fortunately, the temperament wasn’t at all similar.
The servants all heaved a sigh of relief.
But of course, they had to clutch their hearts again soon after.
The baby never missed a chance to make their hearts skip a beat.
“Baba baba…”
“What? Baba? How did the baby know my name is Baba?”
“Your name is Bart.”
“Didn’t you know I changed it yesterday?”
“Dadadada!”
“Wow, I can’t believe she’s calling my name with such vigor…”
“Darvish, stop talking nonsense.”
It had been almost a year since the baby was born.
It was instantaneous for everyone to turn into fools in front of Elaina.
“Elaina called whose name?”
At that moment.
The servants, who had been grinning foolishly, suddenly turned pale and turned around.
Standing there, leaning against the wall and smiling brightly, was Luca. No one knew how long he had been there.
“Line up in the order your names were called.”
“You, young master?”
“Why did you call, Baba?”
Luca responded kindly with a gentle smile creasing his eyes.
The child who once barely reached the knees had grown taller than them in no time.
‘It’s only been a little over a year.’
The growth rate of dragons was nothing short of miraculous.
Thanks to that, just him standing there and looking down, was intimidating enough.
“My, my name is Bart.”
“You changed it, didn’t you?”
“It seemed like a bad name in a naming sense, so I was thinking of applying for a change again…”
Too messy.
Darvish sealed his lips and pitifully glanced at his friend who was avoiding his gaze.
But it was no time for relief.
The arrow quickly turned towards him.
“Dada, how about you?”
He solemnly placed his hand on his chest and answered.
“I, Darvish, will cherish this precious name given by my mother to the grave.”
“Really? So, both of you weren’t called by your names?”
Bart and Darvish nodded vigorously, as if their heads might fall off.
Luca tilted his head at the sight of the two ugly humans, then shook his head in disapproval.
“It seems like she did call your names consciously. Getting even one letter right is something, isn’t it?”
Luca said with a tone as if reading from a book and smiled, “I’m really jealous,”.
“Seems like you’ve become quite close while I was away on a mission?”
The employees knew very well why Luca never used harsh words but instead threatened with a gentle tone and a smile.
It was because Elaina watched the whole scene with her pure eyes.
‘What does it matter if the baby is gentle?’
A dragon, as fierce as any in the Valentine lineage, had been officially adopted.
His cruel nature was no less. At least Valentines were humans, but dragons were a sacred being and they saw humans as inferior, primitive beings.
As long as Luca Valentine stood firm as the eldest son of the family, it was a zero-sum game.
The baby who was sucking on her fingers and intermittently glancing between Luca and the servants, soon moved her adorable lips.
“Lukka!”
Her pronunciation was relatively accurate, especially compared to the names ‘Baba’ and ‘Dada.’
When his name was called, Luca momentarily froze in surprise, then quickly changed the temperature of his expression.
Like snow thawing to reveal blooming flowers, he brightly smiled and lifted Elaina.
“Ella, why?”
“Lukka!”
“Yes, Luca’s here.”
He held the baby in his arms and smiled gently. He didn’t mind referring to himself in the third person.
The employees who were aware of the nature hiding behind Luca’s angelic face, slowly backed away and disappeared.
With all of Luca’s attention on Elaina, he didn’t care whether they stayed or ran away.
“Did you miss Luca?”
He asked while persistently kissing her forehead and cheeks.
At first, Elaina burst into laughter but soon seemed to get annoyed, wriggling her head and grunting, “Uung!”
“Lukka, uhp uhp!”
“What? Our Ella always likes such dangerous things.”
Sighing, Luca lifted the baby high and spun her around.
After barely three rounds, he stopped and gently said.
“There, done. Up up finished.”
“Mooo!”
Elaina, who was not satisfied, hit his head repeatedly.
“No. What if you get hurt?”
“Ddaa ddaa!”
Elaina demanded to be taken to Lloyd if Luca was going to be so petty.
Sensing the baby’s wish sharply, Luca laughed and replied.
“Absolutely not.”
“Dda dda!”
“Huh? Ella. Brother just got back from fighting and you don’t miss me? Weren’t you worried?”
Luca let his eyebrows droop and made a pitiful face, then rolled up his sleeve.
A tiny, barely visible cut, the size of a fingernail, appeared.
“Brother got ouchie.”
“Ouwy?”
The baby looked at the wound with a serious expression and exclaimed, “Mma mma!”
And then she was soon filled with the determination to somehow heal Luca’s wound. Elaina tightly hugged him and boldly pointed in the direction of Aria’s room.
“Kooo!”
She even went as far as pulling his sleek hair and urging him to go quickly.
Luca closed his eyes and smiled with reddened cheeks as if she was just cute and went towards Aria.
