Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 281
Chapter 281
“Just, just try crying.”
As if he himself was the one under a great threat, Luca threatened the baby.
Like a small animal bristling its fur.
The baby stared straight up at Luca with a face about to cry.
Then, reaching out with her tiny hand wrapped in a mitt, resembling a cream puff, towards Luca’s hand.
Their hands touched.
As if scorched by fire, Luca jerked back in surprise and started to back away.
He picked up the dagger from the floor and fled without looking back.
Aria regained consciousness much later.
She had been ill for a week and as soon as she was somewhat recovered, she immediately looked for the baby.
“What about Elaina?”
Having been in a semi-conscious state right after childbirth, she hadn’t been in the right mind to see the child.
Aria wanted to see Elaina.
“The baby has been looking for you too, Madam. She was so fussy…”
Dana laughed and immediately brought the baby to her.
Aria, with her face filled with happiness, opened her arms. But upon seeing the baby’s face, her eyes widened in surprise.
“Oh…”
“What’s wrong?”
Lloyd, who saw her frozen in place, kissed her forehead and asked.
“She looks exactly like Lloyd.”
Not a mix of Aria and Lloyd, not just resembling Lloyd, but a spitting image of him.
Clearly a strong Valentine lineage.
Pure white skin, dark and thick eyebrows, charmingly upturned eyelids.
A prominent nose and large eyes, distinct even in a baby, and unusually red around the eyes, with attractive plump lips.
The baby had undoubtedly inherited the gorgeous appearance of the Valentines.
“I heard she had the same eye color as me, so I thought she would look like me.”
Since she was also a daughter.
Not that a daughter has to resemble her mother.
There is a saying that the first daughter often resembles the father.
But that wasn’t a complaint.
She was just surprised as it was different from her expectations.
Lloyd tilted his head and retorted.
“No, she resembles you.”
“Where?”
“I wasn’t this adorable as a baby.”
“I don’t think I was this adorable as a baby either…”
Lloyd and Aria exchanged a meaningless conversation.
Regardless, the baby was undeniably adorable.
Whether she resembled anyone, no one could deny that this child was exceedingly pretty, cute, and adorable.
“Owaaa…”
The baby began to whimper, perhaps interpreting Aria’s sudden shock as rejection.
“No! That’s not it. Mom’s wrong, ung?”
Aria quickly took the baby in her arms.
The unique smell of a newborn and its warm body temperature lingered in her chest.
“Ah.”
She let out an exclamation unknowingly.
With every wriggle of the baby, waves of warmth surged and melted her heart.
Aria blinked slowly.
Then, as if enchanted, she gazed down at the baby.
“Elaina.”
She gently rubbed the baby’s chubby cheeks, now flushed with a rosy hue.
The baby meekly rubbed her face against Aria’s palm and did not cry.
Through long, dark eyelashes, the baby’s pink eyes were identical to Aria’s. It twinkled with wonder.
“Ah, so adorable…”
She felt she could gaze at the baby forever and never get tired of it.
Aria kissed the baby’s forehead and then looked up.
Lloyd was watching her and the baby with a slightly dazed look.
“Do you want to hold her, Lloyd?”
He hesitated without responding.
“Have you not held her yet?”
Aria asked, as if that even made sense
How could anyone resist holding such a small, adorable creature?
“Does she only look cute to my eyes?”
“No, that’s not possible.”
Then, Elaina, who had been smiling along with Aria, stretched her arms towards Lloyd, as if asking to be held.
Lloyd’s fingertips twitched for a moment, then he murmured softly.
“I’m afraid of hurting her by even touching her…”
His grip was strong enough to break pillars with a mere squeeze.
His unnecessary strength made him hesitant to even touch the child, fearing he might hurt her.
Aria chuckled and replied.
“What a needless worry. If Lloyd couldn’t control your strength, I would have broken something long ago.”
He was always so careful when touching her, often feeling as gentle as a feather.
Although he could be a bit rough when excited.
But what could possibly excite him in front of a baby?
“She wants to go to Dad.”
Aria said this and passed the baby into Lloyd’s arms.
Lloyd, who had suddenly received the baby, hesitated awkwardly, then held her clumsily.
The baby fussed a bit, seemingly uncomfortable with his hold.
“…She doesn’t like me.”
Lloyd muttered emotionlessly. He seemed inwardly shaken.
“Aahh, oh dear. This is how you hold a newborn.”
Unable to watch any longer, Dana scolded the stiff Lloyd and properly adjusted the baby in his arms.
Feeling comfortable in his motionless but firm embrace, the baby soon closed her eyes and started to doze off.
Aria and Lloyd held their breaths in unison.
They just silently watched the sleeping baby.
Until the sun set in the evening.
