When the Villainess Died, the Male Lead Went Crazy - Chapter 115.2
“The Saint won’t be coming today. She’s resting because she’s ill.”
“Where is she resting? Last time, she was in maid’s attire. Is she perhaps staying in the maid’s quarters…?”
“In my room.”
Duke Percival had felt a sense of relief, trusting that being in Phileal’s room meant Anais wouldn’t be treated poorly, given that Phileal was a high-ranking priest.
“She must have left because she’s disgusted with that crazy man.”
“Phileal wishes for Anais’s death.”
After hearing this, Duke Percival glared at him with intense eyes.
“That man hopes Anais can move on to her next life peacefully.”
Duke Percival believed those words were true.
He had always thought that Anais had died because of him, but he never wanted her to come back in this way.
Despite having given everything, it never felt like enough. His daughter, whom he cherished even more than his own life, was deeply missed. She had also been aware of her own death.
She had left a letter for her father, even though she left nothing for Kylian. Duke Percival still had that letter. After the coup, reading Anais’s letter brought him to tears. She had stood in front of Kylian’s path, knowing she would die.
“What can I do to help?”
“The Emperor is pursuing them. But I’m tied down here and unable to assist.”
“So, you want me to go and help?”
“Yes.”
Leviathan handed over the guns and swords he had brought with him. Duke Percival then asked him,
“Are there no bullets?”
“This is a gun charged with magical energy. It’s of the same type that Duke Percival used during the Riahten War.”
“Ha.”
Duke Percival sighed lightly, noting that Leviathan had researched his past thoroughly. He then gripped the gun tightly.
“My daughter’s lifespan is…?”
“At most, a month.”
“Understood.”
Duke Percival realized there was no time to waste upon hearing this.
“If what you say is true, I’ll repay this debt. But if it’s false…”
“I swear to God, it’s the truth.”
“Very well.”
Duke Percival left the palace. He was able to move easily using the resources Leviathan had prepared to help him escape. He looked at the artifact Leviathan had given him. It resembled a compass but pointed east instead of north.
“This artifact will show you the direction of the Second Priest.”
As Duke Percival pondered Leviathan’s words, he suddenly remembered:
“Anais had agreed to visit Ensest Island for me later. My mother’s grave is there.”
Recalling Phileal’s words, Duke Percival immediately set out to find a gate he could use, having remembered that Ensest Island was to the east.

“It seems they boarded a ship.”
Lionel, who was being dragged around by the collar, was now being carried by Captain Lacey. Originally, it was Kylian who had been roughly dragging him, but Lacey had volunteered to carry him.
“What ship are they on?”
“I don’t know. However, the image painted on the ship…”
Lionel, whose primary abilities were not memory reading but rather offensive and defensive magic, took a bit longer.
“That painting on the ship looks similar.”
Lionel, using his magical powers, searched through all the memories of the dock and pointed out the ship. Kylian nodded, and the knights at the back began to surround the ship, allowing Kylian to board.
“Qui, pnos Empire’s…!”
“Where is this ship headed?”
“To Ensest and Endeberg!”
The ship Anais and Phileal had boarded had returned to the capital of the Quipnos Empire after reloading. Kylian sensed a faint, unpleasant divine aura coming from the ship and realized that someone aboard had been a Death Priest.
“Where is the most recent docking location?”
“To Ensest!”
Hearing that, Kylian immediately disembarked from the ship.
“Open a gate to Ensest.”
“But that location is too remote.”
The Magic Tower Master, Lionel, informed him. Gates are usually established in commercial areas or places where the cost of using the gate can be covered.
Ensest wasn’t a tourist destination, so finding a gate leading there would take time unless someone associated with it was present.
“That’s your problem to solve.”
“Your Majesty.”
“Your family is still alive. But if you delay, I can’t guarantee their safety.”
Kylian said in a low voice, glaring at Lionel. Lionel bit his lip, sighed, and said,
“There should be relevant information in the Magic Tower.”
“Then we’ll go to the Magic Tower.”
“Understood.”
Kylian headed back to the Magic Tower. Once there, Kylian allowed Lacey to proceed according to Lionel’s instructions.
It wasn’t long before they were able to open a gate to Ensest.
“What’s going on?”
Lionel was extremely exhausted from using up all his remaining magical energy in a short period.
“Your Majesty, I can no longer…”
“If you fall asleep now, when you wake up, I’ll show you your worst fear.”
“Did Lady Anais ever love this side of you?”
Lionel said this in anger. He was at his limit, too exhausted to produce any more magic.
“Think about how your wife would feel receiving your corpse.”
“I spoke out of turn…”
Lionel tried to avoid Kylian’s maddened gaze and tightly closed his lips.
