Time-Limited Saintess, You've Been Caught by the Tyrant Once Again - Chapter 26

As Liliana glared at Ellin, so did the other Angelias. They felt an uncontrollable surge of anger at the failure of their plan and the attention Elin had gotten.
Henrietta opened her mouth first.
“Was it nice to get the attention you wanted?”
“What do you mean, what I wanted?”
“You knew this was coming, so you memorized all the lyrics and pretended you couldn’t sing.”
Ellin laughed at those words.
“First you get me in trouble, and then you blame me.”
“If you knew that, you should’ve told that High Priest Erich, who’s so fond of you. Wasn’t it to impress him that you’re being left out?”
“You really leave me speechless.”
None of this would’ve happened ago when she was the Saint in her past life. It was because Erich or Maynard strictly prevented such low-level despicable harassment. It was new to receive ill will as it was, but when the limit was exceeded, Ellin’s emotions that were like calm waters, surged like stormy waves.
“I sang the song because it was something I was personally interested in. I didn’t think you all would do something like this.”
Uttering so, she looked at Henrietta and the Angelians one by one with a steady contempt she tried not to reveal.
“I’m going to ask you all of you. What were you all going to do if I hadn’t done anything at the performance?”
“What? Of course, the Saint—”
“Even if the Saint were to step forward, can’t you see the cracks you’ve created? Do you really not know that it almost ruined the event with so many people coming to see you?”
Light green eyes gleamed with a chilling light. They were piercing as if they could see right through you. In the end, she pointed out to them that they almost ruined everything with their personal feelings.
At that quiet scolding, they felt ashamed and bowed their heads at the same time as they felt a sense of oppression that no one could turn away from.
“Ellin, that’s enough.”
“….”
Looking at the scene, Liliana opened her mouth coldly as Ellin looked at her.
“The same goes for the Saint.”
Nonetheless, Ellin wasn’t discouraged.
“Wh-what? With what qualifications do you say that?”
“Angelia’s role also includes preventing the Saint from going down the wrong path.”
She dismissed Ellin’s words. A commoner who couldn’t even see her own eyes, how dare she? Liliana thought to herself.
“This time, it’s a clear mistake on the Saint’s part.”
Her face flushed red at Ellin’s point. Just as Liliana’s anger was about to explode, there was a knock at the door.
“Come in.”
As soon as Liliana finished her words, the door flew open and the air immediately smelled of flowers. Every person who came in was a servant with flowers.
It was only natural to give flowers after the performance. There were colorful, coveted bouquets. Not long, bouquets from noble families, lovers, or friends quickly filled the waiting room, and the murderous atmosphere of just a few moments ago disappeared.
“Wow.”
Of course, it was Liliana who received the most bouquets. Beautiful flowers of all colors were delivered from all over the country and were being offered before her.
Liliana smiled, enjoying the scent of the flower, then looked at Ellin.
“Yes, if you’re so good, how come you don’t have anyone to send you a bouquet of flowers?”
At her taunt, the other Angelias started laughing as well, but Ellin didn’t say anything. It was expected, anyway.
Just then, another knock was heard and the door opened.
The servant glanced around before his gaze stopped at Ellin.
“Ar, are you the soloist?”
“…Yes? Yes.”
The next moment, all the other servants who followed offered her flowers.
“The head of the Harzen family in the kingdom of Engelot…”
“The first master of the Lahrenbit family of Nicaea…”
“The second prince of the Assyria Kingdom…”
In just a couple of minutes, as the flowers piled up as high as Liliana, Ellin was bewildered at the sudden influx of flowers.
“Wait, what is this…”
“He says he wants to meet the lady once.”
“…Yes?”
“He fell in love when he heard the lady sing.”
“Why, it’s all men…”
“That’s because they fell in love with lady’s charm!”
When all the servants were eagerly looking at her, Ellin’s cheeks flushed. This was the first time to receive a courtship bouquet of flowers from a man. In the first place, she was the Saint, and for a very short time, the wife of Arkan, so courtship was something that was absent from her life.
“Th-thank you, but I’m fine.”
When she shook her head nervously, another servant appeared. Ellin made a puzzled expression. Wasn’t he Arkan’s servant whom she often saw in her previous life?
As he appeared, he noticed the other servants.
“Didn’t the lady say she doesn’t like it?”
“But the prince…”
“Our young master—”
“My master…”
When the servant glared at them murderously, they bowed and fled. Seeing that, he turned his gaze back to Ellin before clearing his throat and speaking again.
“Hhm, a certain noble from Nicaea would like to give the lady a bouquet.”
Ellin stared at the flowers held out to her. Instead of red and yellow flowers, the bouquet was a pale-colored bouquet that seemed to bloom in the mist of water. It was her favorite color of all the flowers she’d received.
“Who is the noble you’re talking about?”
“If it’s you, which one?”
“That, that…”
She remembered. These flowers were similar to the bouquet Arkan had given her when they got married.
“Is this from someone from the Imperial Palace?”
“Tha, that’s right! Now that I’ve passed it to you, I’ll take my leave.”
Saying so, he immediately disappeared for fear of being caught. As the servant left, a thought passed her mind as she gazed at the simple bouquet.
‘Why would Arkan give me these flowers?’
Did it mean he was watching?
Ellin thought solemnly to herself. It was a gift that couldn’t reach the heart of the giver.
