Refusing Your Ex-Husband's Obsession: A Guide - Side Story 1
Side Story 1

“We’d be the only nobles who’d ever go on a honeymoon like this,” Ciel remarked.
“Isn’t it nice? It brings back memories of the old days.”
“Well, that’s true but…”
We conversed as we soared swiftly through the skies. We hadn’t brought any attendants with us, and the luggage we brought was kept to a minimum.
“I’ve only stayed in my hometown since coming here. I’m curious about what other parts of the Empire are like.”
“If you wish, I could even pluck the stars from the sky for you.”
He boasted with a smug expression, prompting laughter to escape me.
“Have you become an ahjussi already, just days after getting married?”
“Ahjussi? Me?”
“Yeah. In Korea, they’d call that a ‘dad joke’.”
“But this isn’t Korea.”
“Right, this is the Stern Empire. Even more reason you can’t pluck any stars for me. Are you planning to bring a god over?”
“…Be it the past or the present, you really have to have the last word,” he teased.
“Me?”
It was among the most absurd things I’d ever heard him say. Considering the Ciel of the past, it was a remark he would never make. I snorted with laughter, and Ciel glanced at me before adding,
“Of course, I’m the most hopeless case, but you were quite stubborn yourself. Always talking back to superiors… At first, I mistook you for a soldier who’d blindly follow orders.”
“I didn’t do that with just anyone. Only with superiors who were being unreasonable.”
“I know, but… wouldn’t that usually land someone in military jail?”
I answered confidently to Ciel’s question.
“You were there, weren’t you?”
“…Huh?”
As we soared over the mountains, Ciel’s hair fluttered in the wind. From below, his expression seemed somewhat silly, but his immaculate looks ensured he would never look weird.
I sighed briefly before sharing thoughts I’d harbored in the past.
“It seemed like the officers were trying to keep you in Korea at all costs. I thought you were a foreigner, trying to return home.”
“…And then?”
“So sometimes, I used you to bluff. If the only Guide willing to guide you started openly showing hostility, even officers would have to think twice, right?”
“…Hoh, really as admirable as ever.”
“Did you really think so?”
“As I’ve said before, I thought that expressing my feelings for you might… might get you killed. So, though I couldn’t say it in words, I always admired you, Rin.”
His words made my heart swell. The joy of hearing he had loved me even in the past was mingled with sorrow for the hardship he must have endured. I brushed his windblown hair back into place.
Then, those sky-like blue eyes looked at me intensely.
“Hey, since it’s our honeymoon, shouldn’t we relax a bit?”
“Are you tired? Do you want me to guide you?”
“Yes.”
Before the word had fully left his lips, he had landed on a large tree branch. In a precarious position, our lips met. The slow touch was warm.
“Mmh…”
Sharing breaths, we also shared body heat. The tongue, warmer than the lips, lazily swept the inside of the mouth before tangling. Two bodies pressed messily together then separated.
“Huu…”
Our lips parted momentarily, but saliva connected them in thin threads.
I kissed him again, infusing the kiss with all the guiding energy I could muster, wrapping my hands around his soft hair, continuing the sticky embrace.
“If we could head straight to bed now, I’d have no regrets in life.”
As soon as our lips separated, Ciel whispered. His words, as warm as his body temperature, felt hot.
“How far is it to the next town?”
At my question, Ciel turned his head. After staring into the distance for a moment, he took off again, this time with an incomparable speed.
And soon, we were able to lie down together on a bed.
“Let’s wash up first…”
Even though we had seen everything there was to see between us, there’s still something about setting the right mood.
However, Ciel vehemently objected.
“No, it’s fine to wash up afterward.”
“Ah… wait a minute…”
He hastily unbuttoned my shirt. I was wearing riding clothes for comfort during our journey, and I could do nothing but watch as the buttons flew off.
