It's Not Night - Chapter 190.2
“I… I’m happy because I have you who loves me… So why do you want to send me away? Do you really think what I want is to be separated from you?”
“…I know that’s why I’m doing this. For you.”
“Stop saying it’s for me. If you really cared for me, you wouldn’t treat me like this.”
Andra’s voice trembled.
In truth, she had understood Dustin when he began to avoid sleeping with her. Getting pregnant is easier said than done; it requires a lot of responsibility and courage. Above all, it was a huge burden for her as a woman. So, she thought he was apologizing and pushing her away for her sake.
But she had never imagined he would think this way. The fact that he smiled at her while planning to send her back to Ian felt like a betrayal. He had prepared for their separation without even asking her opinion.
She was furious. She was mad at Dustin’s attitude.
How had they met?
He had waited all that time for her…
With her face now set in a hard expression, Andra spoke in a cold tone.
“So this is your choice? For me to leave you like this?”
“……”
“Say something. I need you to talk for me to understand. Are you really going to let me go? Will you feel satisfied then? If I disappear from your life, will your heart feel a little lighter?”
“……”
“Are you sure you won’t regret it? Do you really believe you won’t ever see me again? Is that why you’re trying to send me away? Huh? Answer me, Dustin.”
Dustin didn’t answer. It only fueled Andra’s anger.
‘Are you avoiding answering me now?’
Andra stared at him for a moment before grabbing the handle of the bag he had packed for her. Only then did Dustin shift his gaze to the bag.
“Coward. You’re a jerk…”
Andra picked up the bag and walked out of the room and started heading downstairs. No one stopped her.
In front of the entrance, a carriage was waiting with the rest of her belongings loaded inside. She threw her bag into the carriage but didn’t climb in. Instead, she walked past it.
“Miss!”
The coachman called out to her, but she warned him not to follow and continued walking ahead.
She just wanted to be alone. She wanted to go somewhere no one could find her. Otherwise, she felt like she wouldn’t be able to control the emotions threatening to burst forth.
Andra fought to hold back her tears. The tears she had suppressed in front of Dustin shimmered in her eyes.
In truth, she wanted to return already. Several times, she had resisted the urge to turn back as she went down the stairs and reached the entrance.
Honestly, she was waiting for Dustin to call her back even now. She wished he would grab her and say he had been wrong, that he made a mistake, and beg for her forgiveness. Then she felt she could forgive him and go back to how things used to be.
That was the reason she hadn’t climbed into the carriage.
But no matter how far she walked past the entrance of the villa, Dustin didn’t come after her.
Had he really given up?
Her heart gradually broke. She never expected Dustin would treat her like this.
“Huuh…”
The sky, which had been overcast since morning, soon began to pour down rain. As the heavy downpour drummed against her body, Andra finally broke into tears.
Tears flowed uncontrollably. Hot tears streamed down her cheeks, splattering onto the ground below.
Andra couldn’t shake the feeling that she had been abandoned. Of all people, it was Dustin who wanted to end things.
She stopped walking and squatted down in that spot, sobbing heavily.
How could he say such things? How could he do this?
You jerk, you scoundrel. You trash…
Ian was right. Love had changed. But since when? Until this morning, aside from avoiding sleeping with her, Dustin had been kind and affectionate. That made the shock even greater. Thinking about it, he hadn’t given Andra any hint that a breakup was on his mind.
How could he not understand why she loved him?
How could he say such a thing?
