Chapter 30.1
Devoncia, who had just finished the meeting, saw a jewelry box lying in his office and called for a maid.
“Who is this from?”
“It’s a gift from the County of Huckley.”
“Ah, it must be something she brought with her during her visit.”
It was natural for County Huckley to offer a tribute since he was the one who supervised Ariel’s. He smiled with satisfaction and opened the jewelry box. A finely crafted diamond sparkled on the velvet sheet.
“So, where is the Princess now?”
“She left immediately after hearing Your Highness’s message.”
“…Left?”
“Yes. She left the Imperial Palace about an hour ago.”
As Devoncia frowned uncharacteristically at the maid’s response, the maids in the room cowered.
“Who did she meet before she left?”
The Crown Prince’s voice was unusually sullen. The maid who had to answer the question struggled to speak without trembling.
“…I understand she didn’t meet anyone.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes. From what I’ve seen and heard, she stayed in the reception room the entire time, then went for a short walk. She left as soon as she heard Your Highness’s message upon her return. The Princess didn’t meet anyone during that time.”
“I see.”
Devoncia’s voice softened upon hearing her words. He sat back down in his chair and picked up the jewelry box.
“Still, it’s rather impudent.”
His heterochromia eyes glanced at the jewelry box as if licking it.
“She came to visit me on a matter concerning me but didn’t come to see me.”
Devoncia looked at the maid, pretending to express her disappointment. The maid flinched under his gaze before she lowered her head.
“I’ll see to it that the Princess adheres to the Imperial Palace’s etiquette.”
“Hmm. See that you do.”
The maid shuddered as she received his gentle encouragement. It was because his encouragement implied he wouldn’t forgive mistakes…
The Crown Prince’s indirect warning plunged the room into silence.
At the same time.
Similarly, after finishing the meeting, Skylar sat in his office chair with a displeased expression. The servants lined up in front of him looked like sinners.
As soon as he heard the maid’s report, he immediately expressed all sorts of annoyance at her incompetence to find even a princess who had merely gone for a walk, and the callousness of letting her leave empty-handed.
“What do you think of me?”
“Your Highness, but the Princess said she wouldn’t stay longer…”
“That’s obviously just a courtesy remark.”
Skylar declared bluntly.
The maid who had been watching Ariel from the side restrained herself from refuting, saying that the Princess didn’t seem like that at all, but rather, she seemed to be running away. In the first place, the Princess Didn’t come for anything related to the Prince, so there was no need for her to meet him. Yet, the Prince acted as if she should have met him.
The servants who were mobilized to find the Princess today inevitably felt his obsession towards the Princess. There was an unusual forcefulness mixed with some obsessive facets. His seemingly irrational behavior was evident because of it.
The Prince had taken a liking to Princess Huckley.
There would be no one within the Imperial Palace who didn’t know this by now. So, they vowed that they wouldn’t make the same mistake as today the next time Princess Huckley visited. No matter what happened, they would ensure she was brought before the Prince.
Only then could they avoid being tormented by this sensitive prince like they did today.

Seven days until transfer.
Ariel’s life as she prepared for the academy had become quite regimented.
She woke up at seven in the morning and spent at least five hours a day studying and reading. She then walked for an hour each in the morning and afternoon. Her bedtime was at ten in the evening.
Thanks to this routine, her stamina, which had been akin to dry twigs or a piece of paper, had improved compared to before. Still, it was only better than it was before since her stamina hadn’t improved much. Her body was inherently weak. Despite the fact that she wasn’t frail, she was prone to fatigue easily and had very low endurance. She wasn’t built for exercise or movement.
Today, again, Ariel collapsed onto her bed, exhausted after a walk in the back garden that lasted only an hour.
“My legs hurt.”
She murmured as she lay on the bed with a tired face.
Initially, her goal was to build up the stamina to live comfortably at the academy, and she thought it would be easy. However, her body didn’t cooperate as she had expected.
“But this should be enough… It’s not like the academy has a physical test, it’s a place to study.”
She was able to sit steadfastly for five hours a day and walk for two hours. That would be enough.
‘I’m not going there to study diligently anyway.’
While she felt sorry for the Countess, that was just how it would be.
The academy was a place where she could encounter her targets frequently, and it was where attacking the targets needed to take precedence. For her, attacking was more important than academics. She couldn’t afford to forget her purpose because of her given position.

The Imperial Academy was located three kilometers west of the Imperial Palace.
Protected by white walls, the academy appeared considerable in size at first glance. It looked like it would be difficult to walk around. Ariel stepped out of the carriage and adjusted her clothes. She wore a neat black dress and loafers. Although a bit plain for a noble, most of the students at the academy were dressed like that.
After checking her reflection in the window, she sent the car away.
The entrance to a busy academy could be seen not far away. The old students in black uniforms mingled with new students dressed neatly in their own attire.
Ariel blended in among them.
Students streamed under the arched main entrance, past a long line of guards. They calmly showed their admission documents or student cards, proving their identities before entering the academy.
She waited patiently for her turn in the long line.
At the entrance, the academy administrator checked the list and verified the students’ identities. They briefly confirmed the students’ names and origins before directing each one to their respective destinations. The assigned locations seemed to be varied.
“To the fourth dormitory wing.”
