I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 79
Chapter 79
* * *
‘Let’s listen to Zion, we need to remain calm in this situation.’
I don’t know why Dekir suddenly collapsed. It seemed too strange for Dekir to have simply collapsed from fatigue. Besides, the fact that he was coughing up blood meant that something was definitely wrong with his body.
“Hey, Rose!”
I turned my gaze at Tommy’s urgent cry, only to see Rose collapsing weakly.
Everyone’s condition is not good.
And the same goes for me.
The aftereffects of falling into the water were finally showing, and my head was spinning. I felt a chill in my body, probably because I was still wearing wet clothes.
“Heyna, are you okay?”
Zion supported me as I stumbled, finding it hard to keep my balance.
“I’m a little dizzy, but I can hold on. What about you, Zion?”
“I’m fine. I didn’t experience anything major. But the others…”
Everyone except Zion, who was in the future’s room, was exhausted. They no longer had the strength to wander around the mansion.
“Everyone is very tired. Let’s go into any nearby room and rest for a while.”
“We should…”
I forced my blurry eyes open and tried to remember. If my memory serves me right, we should naturally move on to Chapter 3 once we successfully escape the room.
As soon as the thought ended, a system window appeared before my eyes.
[Chapter 3 – A Wonderful and Pleasant Break]
A wonderful and pleasant break? Was this the original title of Chapter 3?
‘Besides, why is there nothing under the chapter title?’
Until now, there was always a main mission under the chapter title. But this time, nothing was written.
“This is strange. There’s no mission for this chapter.”
“What? Why is there no mission? Did it malfunction?”
Zion and Tommy spoke at the same time.
It seemed that my chapter wasn’t the only one that was strangely displayed.
There’s no way there’s no mission at all. Do we have to arrive at a designated place or perform a specific action for the mission to appear?
“It’s not a malfunction.”
A deep, heavy voice echoed from the darkness.
“I apologize for being late.”
A small, faint light grew closer, and an old gentleman in a suit emerged from the darkness.
“I am Guide Pulse, the caretaker of the third floor and the butler who has been managing this place for hundreds of years.”
The old gentleman, with his white, faded hair neatly tied down, greeted us formally.
“If you’ve been managing this place for hundreds of years, that means the butler is also a ghost, right?”
Zion whispered in my ear. I nodded discreetly.
Of course, that’s right. We’re the only humans in this mansion.
But more importantly.
“You’re the caretaker of the third floor?”
“Yes. This place, the third floor, is managed solely by me.”
That means…
“Does that mean we won’t encounter any other ghosts on the third floor besides you?”
He nodded at my question.
“Yes, that’s right. There are no other ghosts here besides me, so you don’t have to worry.”
The eyes inside the gold monocle that was only on his right side gently curved.
My heart eased a little. If the ghost butler’s words were true, we wouldn’t have to tremble with anxiety, wondering what might pop out from where, like we did on the lower floors.
“You can stay comfortably here as long as you follow a few rules. Everyone seems tired, so I’ll explain the rules later and show you to your rooms first. Is that alright?”
Excluding Dekir and Rose, who were in no condition to speak, we discussed what to do among ourselves.
“What should we do?”
“What do you mean, what should we do? Why would we listen to that suspicious-looking old ghost butler?”
“Everyone’s condition is not good right now, so how about we follow him for now and run away if anything seems strange?”
“I agree with Heyna. Rose is alone, and it would be difficult to carry Dekir around here. Heyna and Tommy seem pretty tired too.”
Zion and I agreed.
“I’m not as wishy-washy as you guys. Don’t lump me in the same category.”
“But Tommy, haven’t you been leaning against something since earlier? It looks to me like you’re just forcing yourself to stand.”
“What nonsense…”
Not wanting the conversation to drag on, I cut Tommy off.
“I can’t take it anymore. Let’s just follow the butler.”
Tommy’s eyes were filled with displeasure. But after glancing at me, he sighed.
“Fine. Do what you want. I don’t need another burden here.”
He finally relented.
“So, everyone agrees to follow him?”
“Yes.”
“Alright.”
After hearing our answer, Zion stepped forward as our representative and spoke to Pulse.
“Yes, please do.”
“Understood.”
