I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 80
Chapter 80
“And one of us is in bad shape. Can he receive treatment?”
“Yes, we will take those who are not feeling well to a separate room and take care of them later.”
I let out a sigh of relief and held Dekir’s hand tightly. The hand that always warmly enveloped mine was cold, devoid of any warmth.
He must be in a lot of pain, his smooth forehead creased with worry lines. Every now and then, a groan of pain escaped his lips.
Zion supported Dekir. As Zion’s hand touched him, Dekir’s frown deepened.
“Just hold on, Dekir.”
Though he couldn’t hear me, I whispered in his ear and patted his back.
Did my words reach him?
His face, previously contorted in pain, seemed to relax slightly.
After leaving Dekir and Rose in the infirmary, we moved to our room.
“…What the heck? Is this a hotel?”
As soon as we entered the room, Tommy’s eyes widened in surprise. As he had observed, the room the butler had led us to was unlike any we had seen before.
The plush red carpet laid on the spotless floor felt like walking on clouds. The luxurious bed, reminiscent of hotel bedding, was adorned with antique furniture and brightly colored flowers.
It was a magnificent and tidy room, impossible to believe had been abandoned for centuries.
“We have also prepared clothes for you in the closet. Please choose whatever you like. While you change, I will check on the condition of those in the infirmary.”
There were five closets, each with our initials engraved on the front.
After hearing Pulse’s instructions, Tommy immediately opened the closet marked with a T.
“Crazy.”
He had expected to find a few comfortable clothes at most, but the closet was filled to the brim with everything from formal attire and jackets for banquets to simple everyday clothes.
“Individual spaces are also prepared for you. Please feel free to call us whenever you need anything.”
The butler left the room after finishing his explanation.
“Wow, this is awesome.”
Tommy, who had been wary of the butler the whole time, changed into comfortable clothes and plopped down on the bed as soon as he left.
Following Tommy’s lead, we each changed our clothes.
“So, what are we going to do now?”
Tommy, who was already lying down with the covers pulled over him, asked in a relaxed tone.
“It is suspicious, but it doesn’t seem bad, does it?”
I was a little annoyed that Tommy, who had been so against following Pulse earlier, was now changing his tune, but…
“Yeah.”
Before I realized it, I was lying down on the bed too.
“We can’t let our guard down. They might be trying to trick us by treating us so well right now.”
“Even you, Zion, are on the bed right now.”
“….”
Zion avoided Tommy’s gaze with an embarrassed look. Tommy burst out laughing at the sight.
The room was filled with the fragrance of flowers placed everywhere. The warm blanket enveloping my tired body made my eyelids heavy.
It had been a long time since I had experienced such a peaceful moment.
Perhaps because I had been tense the whole time, this moment of rest felt more precious than anything else.
Knock, knock—
Suddenly, the door opened with a knock.
We, who had been lying sprawled out on the bed without any tension, all sat up at once.
“I have brought some simple desserts and tea.”
Pulse placed a tray with exquisite porcelain teacups and desserts on the white marble table.
“This is a dessert prepared for each of you, starting from the right: Heyna, Zion, and Tommy. Please enjoy your peaceful time.”
He left the room again after finishing his task.
We cautiously looked at each other before sitting down at the table.
Each tray had a different type of tea and dessert. The dessert on my tray was a sweet shortcake. The tea had a faint aroma of honey and flowers.
“Is this supposed to be a ham sandwich and milk?”
Tommy picked up the teacup and gulped down the milk in one go.
“Wait, Tommy, if you drink that straight…”
“Tommy, what if it’s poisoned?”
After finishing the milk, Tommy smacked his lips nonchalantly.
“It’s not poison, but there is something in it.”
“What? What’s in it?”
“Honey.”
“…Huh?”
“It’s full of honey. It’s sweet and delicious. I should ask for another cup.”
Tommy, who had finished every drop of milk left in the cup, now munched on the sandwich.
“Tommy!”
When Zion tried to stop him, Tommy retorted rudely.
“It was you guys who wanted to follow the butler in the first place. Since we’re already here, shouldn’t we just relax instead of needlessly suspecting everything and racking our brains?”
I didn’t want to admit it, but Tommy was right.
Since we’ve come this far, it might be better to take this opportunity to rest instead of questioning everything.
“Even so, it’s dangerous to eat food without knowing what’s in it.”
“Then you can eat the stale bread crumbs you have in your belongings.”
“..,.”
Zion seemed unwilling to let go of his tension and tried to dissuade Tommy. However, he didn’t seem eager to eat the bread he had brought from the restaurant when faced with the sweet dessert in front of him.
Me neither.
My empty stomach, after all the hardships we had endured, was begging for some sugar. Unable to resist any longer, I picked up the cake and took a bite.
“Delicious!”
The cake melted in my mouth as soon as I put it in. The tea they had prepared was also very sweet. The tension I had been holding onto vanished like sugar dissolving in water.
“Even Heyna…”
Zion, who had trailed off with a troubled voice, finally picked up the cookie in front of him and took a sip of the hot coffee.
“How is it, Zion?”
To my question, he replied as if he couldn’t help it.
“It seems there’s no poison.”
After all the hardships we had endured, the afternoon tea time that greeted us was incredibly sweet.
‘Is it because my mind is at ease? I suddenly feel so sleepy.’
After emptying the plate and teacup, I climbed onto the bed and dozed off. My eyelids kept drooping.
Tommy had already fallen asleep and was snoring. Zion was also half asleep.
‘I guess everyone is really tired.’
With that thought, I too laid down my body, exhausted from fatigue.
