I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 101
Chapter 101
A shiver ran down my spine the moment I realized Zion saw me as nothing more than his ‘future fiancée.’
“Heyna.”
‘I thought things would be easier once his favorability level went up….’
Suddenly, Zion’s face appeared right in front of mine as I was looking at the status window.
“Eek!”
Startled, I screamed and jumped to my feet.
“Heyna?”
Zion looked up at me with a surprised expression. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you.”
“Oh, no. It’s okay.”
“What were you looking at so intently?”
‘What was I looking at? Your favorability level and inner thoughts!’
…Of course, I could never say that.
“Oh, just… looking over the chapter.”
I offered a vague excuse.
Perhaps thanks to his high affection and low suspicion levels, Zion thankfully didn’t seem to doubt me.
“Are you going to keep standing there?”
“Huh? No, I’ll sit.”
I awkwardly sat back down.
“Heyna. I have something I’d like to say, though it might be a bit sudden.”
“Yes? What, what is it?”
“I don’t know if you remember, but I said before that I’ve never been romantically interested in anyone.”
“Uh, uh? D-did you?”
“Yes. I’ve met countless ladies, but I’ve never wanted a future with any of them.”
“Is that so? Hahaha.”
I laughed awkwardly. I had a bad feeling. No, it wasn’t just a feeling…
‘It’s so obvious! It’s that!’
Honey dripping from his melodramatic eyes and a sudden, out-of-place declaration. It was a classic confession cliché.
‘Zion, this isn’t like you! Just because your favorability level went up a bit, your personality changes this much?’
While I was trying to figure out how to get out of this situation, Zion continued talking on his own. Of course, I wasn’t really listening.
I didn’t want to bother paying attention to his values and past, the things he always rambled about before a confession.
“Actually, earlier, when you were defending Tommy, I felt jealous without even realizing it. And I realized for certain. That I like you, Heyna, more than I thought.”
Zion smiled harmlessly and gently placed his hand over mine, intertwining his fingers with mine. He had somehow moved closer and was now sitting right next to me, gazing intently into my eyes.
“I know. You act strong, Heyna, but you’re actually a very delicate and fragile lady.”
Excuse me? Who is this delicate and fragile lady he’s talking about?
“So you won’t have to push yourself anymore, I’ll protect you from now on.”
“…Uh, yeah. Thanks, Zion.”
I wasn’t sure how this had happened, but two things were certain.
First, Zion wasn’t in love with me but with a fictional woman he’d created in his mind.
Second, I really hated him!
Not long after I responded…
[‘Zion’s favorability level for ‘Heyna’ has increased by 1.]
Finally, his favorability level reached 5. Since his affection was full, wouldn’t there be some change in the status window?
I wanted to check the favorability tab, but Zion’s presence prevented me from looking at the status window.
‘It’s okay if I don’t check it right now.’
Relieved that I could at least avoid Zion’s suspicion thanks to his high favorability, I was caught off guard.
“Heyna.”
He, who had been using polite words all this time, suddenly became more casual.
***
The hallway beyond the library door.
Dekir was quietly listening to their conversation from outside. No, he was watching.
[[Zion] I like you, Heyna, more than I thought.
Zion held Heyna’s hand tightly and moved closer to her.]
He could only know what was happening beyond the door through a few lines of text. There was no way to know exactly which parts of their bodies were touching, or how.
‘Don’t tell me….’
All sorts of scenarios filled Dekir’s mind.
‘D*mn it.’
Dekir suppressed the urge to rush in and tear the filthy, disgusting Zion away from Heyna. As long as the library door was locked, he couldn’t get in.
That was the rule of the 3rd floor.
Dekir gritted his teeth.
[[Zion] I know. You act strong, Heyna, but you’re actually a very delicate and fragile lady. So you won’t have to push yourself anymore, I’ll protect you from now on.]
‘Nonsense.’
The Heyna Dekir knew was, despite her delicate appearance, incredibly strong. The way she trembled with fear, yet still tried to move forward, had captivated him.
