I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 255
Euseniel went to the palace.
The Southern Army was quiet, and in the meantime, our army checked the mountain peaks. Under General Panet’s command, sentries were placed at locations where the Southern Empire might install mirrors.
For a while, they wouldn’t be able to come.
The Southern Emperor pretended to be fine, but he must have sustained serious internal injuries. Just like how a heartless country would be shocked if its heart were pierced.
But what lingered in my mind was something else.
– Once you start rampaging, there’s no hope left. Do you know that?
I wanted to believe it was the work of someone who hated me, but I couldn’t ignore the distant roar of monsters.
Though my mind was calm, after the last rampage, the monsters had been steadily increasing in number.
– All that’s left for you is to keep rampaging, killing everyone around you.
The devil’s knowledge hadn’t given me that kind of information. There was nothing in the knowledge I had about how far a rampage could go.
After all, it’s not like there’s no other rampaging Emperor.
“Are they deceiving me?”
That deceitful devil.
Is it trying to make me rampage endlessly, deliberately hiding the severity of it from me so that I don’t realize the danger?
Would it be better to trust the God of Light, who takes things away honestly, or the devil, who pretends to give everything while secretly taking everything away?
“Euseniel.”
I don’t know.
What’s right, what’s wrong.
In this situation, Euseniel sent a delayed letter, and I became even more depressed. At least the warmth of Euseniel’s magic circulating inside me and the scent left on the bedding gave me some comfort.
“Euseniel, Euseniel. My Euseniel.”
When my heart felt heavy, I read and reread the last line of the letter Euseniel had sent.
– Euseniel, who loves you.
* * *
“A sword…”
First, I took a full round through the fairy realm. While it was called round, it wasn’t a perfect circle, and with all the alleyways, it took quite a bit of time.
There were no clear clues, so I wondered if the blood might be the key, and tried cutting my fingertip to bleed while walking around.
“Ugh! What are you doing?!”
Didiel was horrified when she met me again.
As I explained everything, Didiel tilted her head.
“A sword? Hmm, I don’t know, but I can introduce you to a fairy who might know.”
Didiel led me to a mushroom-shaped house. It was a cute, round-roofed house.
“Haniel! Haniel! We have a guest!”
Didiel knocked loudly on the door, and a girl with blonde hair came out. She was a fairy who looked as cute and lovely as the house she lived in.
The curly-haired fairy listened to the situation and then thoughtfully put her finger to her cheek.
“In the past, I served an angel who came down to the Earth. I followed her to the heavens, and there, I saw a mural of a sword on a wall.”
“We fairies also have a treasure sword, but we can’t use it to harm someone blessed by the God of Light. So, I think the sword Euseniel is looking for is the one Haniel knows about!”
Didiel chimed in.
Just as the Chancellor said, the fairies helped without hesitation, even though I was saying that I wanted to harm someone blessed by the God of Light.
Didiel had to leave for some business, and the fairy named Haniel added more explanation.
“Keep going straight, and you’ll find the ‘Angel’s Forest.’ It wasn’t open to us now, but it used to be the entrance where angels would pass through.”
Just as I had expected long ago, angels must have passed between the fairy realm and the human world through the fairy realm.
“There’s a way to find the sword, and it’s actually quite easy.”
Haniel grabbed my hand with both of hers.
“If you want, you can find it right away.”
I tilted my head, not quite understanding it, and Haniel smiled gently, closing her eyes.
“Everyone else doesn’t know how to enter the Angel’s Forest. Once you go there, you’ll find the sword.”
“But if no one knows, won’t it be hard for me to go too?”
“No, you’re different.”
Haniel’s tone was firm.
“You come from a completely different dimension.”
“How…?”
“Now you are a part of this world, but your sharp eyes can see the cracks that divide worlds. You’ve already seen the beings ensnared by wicked powers, haven’t you?”
Haniel was a calm fairy, quite different from the lively Didiel.
“Then, my soul…?”
Should I ask this?
“Yes, Euseniel. It’s just as you thought.”
Haniel smiled faintly, as though she had read my mind.
“Your soul, which was still attached to the past world, was hidden. Only when you decided to live in this world did you truly become part of it.”
The same was true for the Fairy King. Is this the mysterious nature of fairies?
“Thank you.”
I bowed, and when I lifted my head, the mushroom house was gone.
“Huh…?”
Was everything I saw and heard just a dream?
I rubbed my eyes, but the area in front of me was still empty. I didn’t hesitate any longer and headed toward the Angel’s Forest.
“Ah.”
As soon as I arrived in the forest, I immediately understood what Haniel had meant.
At some point, I felt an odd sensation, one that I realized was the feeling of moving through dimensions via water.
Something I desperately wanted.
That was the essence of it.
However, the only reason I was able to come here was because Haniel had guided me, so I silently thanked her again.
In the middle of a pure white flower field, a snow-white sword was embedded like a petal.
The petals, as pure as can be, fluttered in the wind, creating a majestic scene, and I paused to admire it.
It felt like an untouchable space.
It was as if I was in a story that Weathering had once told me. The one who pulls this sword would become the tribe leader.
“Yes, I will be the one who wins the war.”
