I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 122
After walking for another three days, I was able to encounter the jade-colored lake without any worries.
A cool waterfall was pouring down through the large rock walls that rose up, and a rare clear sky was seen at the place where the waterfall started.
“Water can really be an emerald color…….”
When I scooped up the water with my hand, it was clear. But the lake was a jade color, so I couldn’t tell what was inside.
In Guana Mountain, common sense does not work. It might be difficult to find the door to the Fairy World.
“It’s not at the bottom of the lake, is it?”
I swam across the lake just in case, but I couldn’t see a door. I thought about it for a whole day, but got no answer.
After combining the information I knew, all I needed was blood.
Mother said I should show my identity to the fairies. The best evidence for that was blood.
Standing on the edge of the lake, I cut my palm with a dagger. The red blood dripped onto the calm water.
“What the…… !”
The lake that had eaten the drops of blood seemed to turn white in an instant, and then it began to stir. The surface, which had looked calm, started to churn and the water began to be sucked into the middle of the lake.
“What…… !”
As soon as I snatched my things out of the water, I was sucked into the lake.
The strong waves were quite harsh and I couldn’t move my body at will. Even water came into my mouth without me being able to control it.
The place I arrived to after swallowing water until I was out of breath, was a place quite different from the scenery I had seen a while ago.
“A cave?”
Before I was able to digest the surprise that the lakeside scenery had changed to a cave, I jumped to my feet in the presence of people. Unlike me who held the handle of the sword, a girl who looked carefree appeared.
“Welcome to the Fairy World.”
The blue-eyed girl with blonde hair similar to Mother’s smiled and I straightened my posture.
“Hello.”
“Hello, Miss Euseniel Hardland!”
A girl more playful than Ruby called my name.
“Do you know me?”
“Of course. I knew you would come here.”
A girl was similar to me, wearing a training top, trousers and long boots, motioned for me to follow her.
“My name is Didiel. I am a dream fairy.”
“I am Euseniel Hardland, a half-elf.”
“Half-elf! I’ve only heard of it, this is the first time I’ve actually seen it. It’s the first time a mixed race has come to the fairy world.”
The fairy named Didiel was very lively and talked a lot.
“When you get out of the cave, you have to be careful because your eyes may be dazzled.”
Following the fairy’s warning, I closed my eyes and went out of the cave. When I opened my eyes to the scent of fragrant grass, I was in awe.
“Ah.”
“Isn’t it beautiful?”
A dazzling scenery was in front of my eyes, enough to make me understand why Didiel was proud.
The warm sunlight that can never be seen in the Northern Empire and the colorful flowers that grew under it. The tall trees in harmony and the appearance of fairies of different sizes warmed my heart.
“Yes, very.”
I stood still for a while in the exotic and wonderful scenery that made me forget that I had come here with an important purpose.
“Oh no, the King will be waiting for you. Come quickly.”
The one who got my attention back was the fairy who came as a guide.
“The King is waiting for me?”
“Yes. It was the King who told me to wait for Miss Hardland.”
I wondered how the King of the fairy knew me, but I didn’t get a chance to ask Didiel, who was talking nonstop.
“Now, just walk along this flower road, you will be able to meet the king.”
When I reached the bright yellow flower garden, Didiel insisted that I go alone. I thanked her, and moved on.
As I moved through the wide fields, what had been vague until now became clearer.
This place was full of magic, the kind I had never encountered before. Exclusive magical power was poking me as if trying to erase my human traces.
I had to be careful while taking my steps without having time to look around at the magical power pushing my body.
The magical energy that filled the fairy world was like a punisher who did not tolerate anything different from itself, although it seemed to be as clear as sunlight.
At this point, I wonder how I got here.
At the end of the path, there were two trees with rustling light green leaves.
“What…… !”
My head seemed to be tilting downward, but I was still on the ground. But the landscape had changed.
Someone was standing in the middle of a field full of colorful flowers.
“You’re here.”
An old woman with gray hair, dressed in white, wrinkled face, spoke to me. I was speechless for a moment at the combination of things that did not suit her, such as wrinkles for a fairy.
“Why, are you looking for fairy wings?”
“Pardon me.”
I bowed my head to express my apology and then let my question come out.
“I guess fairies get old too.”
“Everything that lives ages.”
The old woman, one head taller than me, had a straight back and sharp eyes.
“If you do not age, you are going against the providence of the world.”
Her gaze seemed to pierce me. How long would a fairy that was known as immortal have to live to become old?
“Is it difficult to stand up right now?”
I wanted to deny the Fairy King’s point, but unfortunately it was true.
“It is because there is something unclean in your body.”
“Is it because half of the blood that flows through me is human?”
“No.”
The Fairy King’s answer was clear.
“Human beings are in the middle because they can become good or evil. They do not suffer from the good magic that fills the Fairy World.”
“Aren’t humans not allowed to enter the Fairy World? They don’t have the magical powers of a fairy.”
“Yes, but that’s because they don’t have the key. They can’t come in because they don’t have magic or blood to prove that they’re the same as us. But if they have a companion, they can enter.”
Just because a human enters the Fairy World doesn’t mean they do not die because of their special nature.
