Chapter 16.2
“Didn’t I say I’ll support everything you need? Besides, your salary and the investment in the cafe are clearly two different things.”
“Does that include the cost of hiring an alchemist?”
“Of course.”
Wiping the smile off his face, he ordered Lloyd.
“Is Hannah Turner in the estate?”
“Yes, she is.”
“Tell her to come to the capital as soon as possible.”
“Alright, I understand.”
Then, he turned back to April and opened his mouth as if declaring.
“I’ll provide you with the best alchemist. Don’t worry about Winterville’s financial situation, and just do whatever you want.”
“Thank you.”
Watching Claude’s figure disappear, she let out a small sigh.
‘…It’s like I’ve just come back from death.’
Seeing her like that, Lloyd chuckled.
“Even so, His Excellency seems quite considerate towards the lady.”
Aprils asked with a trembling voice.
“The Duke is considerate to me?”
It seemed like Lloyd might have misunderstood the meaning of ‘considerate.’ Just a while ago, she felt like she’d come back from the dead, but now, he was calling it being considerate?
In response to April’s questioning gaze, he nodded.
“Yes, that’s right. If someone else had said that, he wouldn’t have simply laughed and dismissed it… No, never mind. Anyway, I’ll get in touch, and Miss Turner will be here within a few days. Once Miss Turner arrives, I’ll let you know.”
“Yes.”
“Then, rest well.”
After saying goodbye to Lloyd, she followed the butler as they ascended to the third floor. Among the guest chambers on this floor, hers boasted the best view. As they stepped onto the expansive terrace, she was treated to the sight of the vibrant garden in its peak of blossoming just beneath her.
“You can use this room. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to let me know.”
At that moment, Asher, who had been pretending to be asleep, hesitantly spoke up.
“I want to use the room next to sister April’s.”
A look of embarrassment appeared on the butler’s face.
“The Young Master’s room is on the fourth floor.”
“Why?”
April willingly helped the butler, who didn’t know what to do.
“You are a direct member of the Winterville family… So, it means that you’re the Duke of Winterville’s nephew while I’m a guest. That’s why our rooms are in different locations. Why, are you scared?”
“A little bit.”
“You’ll get used to it soon. Even though our rooms are apart, we can still see each other often. Sister will visit you frequently. Is that okay?”
When she glanced at the butler and asked, he nodded his head.
“Yes. His Excellency also mentioned that I should guide Miss April wherever she wants to go.”
“You heard that, right? So, don’t worry.”
“Yes.”
When April gently ruffled the child’s hair after his response, just that seemed to relax Asher’s tension.
“So, sister will keep living with me?”
“Ung.”
To be honest, even though she didn’t come here solely because of Asher, now that she was at the Winterville Estate with the child, April intended to take care of him.
‘Considering Claude’s personality, he might not be the best at looking after a child.’
Growing up under him might turn the cute and lovable Asher into a cynic. She didn’t want that.
“Okay then, let’s go see your room now.”
“What about sister?”
“I’m coming with you, too.”
“Great!”
While Asher trotted after the butler excitedly, April quickly followed behind.
The beginning of life in the capital went smoothly.

The next day, Asher would go to the imperial palace with Claude. The reasoning was that they needed to officially confirm their blood relationship. Because of this, the child began his preparations in the morning, led by the maids. While his face turned slightly red, unfamiliar with someone else washing him, he remained calm and didn’t cause a fuss.
In the meanwhile, April waited in the drawing room attached to Asher’s room for the child, who seemed unfamiliar.
Finally, the child emerged from the drawing room after having a bath and changing clothes.
“It’s weird.”
The child hesitantly approached her and touched his face awkwardly. At this moment, Asher was clean from the bath and was dressed in the splendid attire typical of noble children.
Sitting on the sofa, April couldn’t help but marvel.
‘He definitely looks different.’
The once dusty countenance now revealed a fair face. His cheeks were endowed with healthy plumpness indicative of healthy eating, and he was attired resplendently with his silver hair meticulously groomed. As if donning wings made of fabric, Asher, revitalized by the attentive care of the maids, radiated an air of nobility that would have one believe he was born into it.
It was almost inconceivable that this was the same child who had entered her shop just ten days earlier, looking disheveled and forlorn. As April stared at him in silence, Asel reached up and touched his own cheeks.
“Is it strange after all? I-I don’t really suit this kind of thing.”
“No, it suits you well. You look like a noble.”
“A… noble? What does that mean?”
“It’s a compliment. You look like a young boy who grew up preciously.”
“That can’t be true. I’m…!”
“Why couldn’t it be true?”
Their conversation was suddenly halted by a low voice.
Claude, who had entered the drawing room without bothering to knock, advanced toward them. He was also dressed in formal attire. Despite the fact that his all-black outfit wasn’t overly ornate, it exuded an air of sophistication.
April stared at him blankly.
‘Wow, he looks impressive.’
