Despite Being an Extra, I'm the Villain's Childhood Friend - Chapter 40.2
Chapter 40.2
‘What did he write?’
Izeline’s eyes flickered anxiously. Michael’s eyes sparkled with curiosity at the dangerously escalating atmosphere.
“Robert von Armaty.”
Gerald quickly scanned the densely written black letters and spoke in a low voice.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
As Robert’s eyes narrowed like a cat with its fur standing on end, Gerald stared at him intently. The young disciple’s answer spilled out of his mouth.
“I will poison the Sillone River to attack the Western Chesner Knights. The Sillone River flows from the west, so it’s a brilliant strategy.”
Izeline gasped at the unexpected answer. She turned her head instinctively and saw Robert’s profile as he watched Gerald. And then Michael, who had been watching the situation with a mixture of amusement and concern, frowned at the following words.
“I will take advantage of the Flame Knights using the winter lull, and I will use the Ignite Knight’s commander’s family as hostages and exploit their weakness through psychological warfare.”
Using his family as hostages? Wasn’t one of those family members Michael?
Despite his gruff exterior, Kalif adored his family and would give up his own life for the Countess of Willbright and Michael.
Michael quietly held his breath as he watched Robert. He never would have expected such an idea from the boy he’d spent his innocent childhood with. Even hearing it directly, he could hardly believe it.
Robert calmly replied to Gerald, pretending not to notice the piercing gaze stabbing into his profile.
“I simply wrote down the weaknesses of each Order of Knights, as I was told to write about them.”
“It seems you were unable to find the weaknesses of the Windroad Knights?”
“They are shrouded in secrecy. Had I known, I would have kidnapped and used that woman before she was killed by the monster.”
At that shocking and unexpected answer, Izeline’s eyes, which had been still until then, shook slightly.
Thump, thump, thump.
Her heart pounded anxiously.
Why did the original story of kidnapping and torturing the female lead, Livny, suddenly cross her mind at this moment?
How could a seven-year-old even think of kidnapping and using someone?
Perhaps this child was born with an innate, evil nature that allowed him to exploit others’ weaknesses. Or perhaps he had learned it from a young age, when he had been attacked for his weakness, Krug, though he couldn’t remember it…
Either way, it was not a good sign.
‘I mustn’t let him get involved with any more of the original characters. Especially not Arsen or Livny.’
Izeline glanced at Michael, her vigilance aroused. She couldn’t help that she had already become friends with Michael, the sub-male lead, but she could at least avoid Arsen and Livny.
For now, Michael, who had attended the Crown Prince’s birthday banquet, was the greatest risk factor. If he had any contact with Arsen, it could bring them one step closer to the tragedy of the original story.
“How did you come up with such an idea?”
Just then, Gerald’s voice cut through the air. He had a serious expression on his face as if he had discovered a dangerous potential within Robert.
“I simply thought of ways to retaliate in case he attacks me.”
“In case?”
“If he doesn’t bother me first, I won’t do anything either.”
“Ha.”
Gerald let out a hollow laugh as if he were amused.
“You’re only seven years old.”
“So?”
