Chapter 47.2
Leilia looked over the things she had brought. She had mostly chosen practical things she could actually use.
“This one stands out.”
What he picked up was a dress.
It was a light, flowing dress that seemed perfect for spring or autumn.
“Oh, that one.”
She had bought it shortly after sending him the divorce papers.
Seeing the dress now brought back memories of that time. It was a period when she had spent hours wondering how she would live after the divorce. She hadn’t expected him to treat her so sincerely as his wife.
Leilia ran her hand over the dress.
“It must hold some memories.”
Cassel approached her as he spoke.
“Yes, it does.”
“What kind of story?”
“It’s the dress I bought right after signing the divorce papers.”
At Leilia’s words, Cassel looked at the dress in silence.
“It’s beautiful.”
“And expensive.”
The higher the price, the more it symbolized the hardships she had endured. Hearing this, Cassel leaned down and kissed the dress.
“I won’t let anything like that happen again.”
“Cassel.”
“My wife is precious to me.”
And the wife was referring to herself.
Now, she could understand his feelings a little better. Remembering his words asking her to wait for him, Leilia’s cheeks flushed.
He had put his first love behind him and had started to make room for her in his heart.
Maybe such a dream-like thing could actually happen.
‘Cassel.’
The name she couldn’t quite say aloud.
‘You do love me, don’t you?’
As these words lingered in her thoughts, Leilia accepted his approaching lips. After the kiss, they walked hand in hand, chatting as they strolled through the garden.
“The name of the visitor from the Wizard Association today sounded familiar,” she remarked.
“Who is it?”
“Dreikan.”
Cassel stopped in his tracks at her words, prompting Leilia to tilt her head and ask.
“Is something wrong?”
“It’s been a long time since I heard that name.”
Cassel gave a small smile.
“He was a friend I shared good times with.”
It was rare for him to refer to someone as a friend. Leilia’s eyes widened in surprise, and Cassel, lost in thought for a moment, turned his gaze back to her.
“Don’t fall for him. He’s handsome.”
“Oh, Cassel.”
Leilia shook her head.
“There’s no one more handsome than you.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes…”
Leilia felt embarrassed, as though she had revealed a bit too much of her true feelings. Her face grew warm, and her breath caught.
Seeing her flustered expression, Cassel silently pulled her close and kissed her.
The kiss was sweet and lingering.
As they kissed, Leilia thought about their future together.
“Can you wait for me a little longer?”
The words he wanted to say.
She understood what they were, even if they hadn’t been spoken aloud. If she could truly hear those words, she felt she could wait forever.
When the kiss ended, they continued their quiet stroll through the garden.
“Someone from the Wizard Association has arrived.”
Seychelle announced, informing them of the visitor from the Wizard Association.

Dreikan had short golden hair and brown eyes, and his slightly tousled hair gave him a youthful appearance. Seeing him, Leilia understood why Cassel had described him that way. He had a neat, distinguished look and seemed to radiate a natural charm.
While not quite as striking as Cassel, he definitely had a presence.
“I greet Prince Cassel and Madam.”
Dreikan bowed his head in greeting. In response, Leilia and Cassel took their seats on the sofa.
“Please, have a seat.”
At Cassel’s invitation, Dreikan sat down.
“Thank you for coming all this way.”
“It was nothing.”
Dreikan replied calmly.
Although Cassel had called him a friend, they didn’t seem especially close, which left Leilia curious about why Cassel referred to him as a friend.
“You mentioned a magic stone was discovered. How did you find out about it?”
Cassel smiled and replied.
“The leader of the Hyllan Association told me.”
Dreikan set down his teacup and looked at him quietly.
“The leader of the Hyllan Merchants Association?”
“That’s right.”
“I heard you’re receiving sponsorship from them.”
After saying this, Dreikan glanced between Cassel and Leilia.
“But why did you keep it a secret that you were Zitlar’s apprentice?”
After a pause, Dreikan finally asked the question that had been on his mind. It was a position anyone would have coveted, yet Cassel had essentially turned it down.
Cassel looked at him in silence for a moment.
“Did Zitlar tell you that?”
“Yes.”
“I just wanted to live quietly.”
Cassel shrugged his shoulders and then stood up.
“For now, let’s go to where the magic stone is.”
At Leilia’s prompting, Dreikan bit his lip and slowly rose to his feet.
For now, focusing on the task at hand came first.
