Chapter 29.1
“Leilia, don’t you want to have a wedding? Once the territory is decided and the surrounding area is roughly organized, I would like to have a happy wedding in front of everyone.”
Leilia raised her head at his words.
“When do you want to do it?”
“I’d like to do it next spring.”
Cassel grinned.
“I don’t think now is the right time.”
Not the right time.
At those words, she gazed at him and held his hand tightly.
“Okay then, let’s do that.”
She also wanted to have a joyful wedding. Hearing her words, Cassel kissed Leilia on the lips.
“Please wait a little longer.”
He uttered so.
A trip like a sweet break.
‘We might face difficulties in the future.’
Didn’t Cassel refuse to become a close confidant of Lisseltz? Perhaps the situation would become even more complicated in the future.
‘I’ll protect him.’
Leilia swore in his arms.
6. The Emperor’s Greed Isn’t Over Yet.
Leilia was getting her makeup done professionally. Today was the day they were moving to the new mansion. Cassel’s subordinates offered to help with the move, so she had to prepare to welcome them. Reporters were also coming to see the house and interview Cassel.
It wasn’t the reporters who had requested it first, but it was Cassel who had called a prominent newspaper and invited them.
‘What could he be thinking?’
They returned from their trip and lived peacefully. While the Imperial Palace hadn’t yet disclosed Cassel’s territory and position, the two of them spent their days separately working and having meals together. At night, they passionately explored each other and fell asleep holding each other’s hands.
It felt like the calm before the storm.
Meanwhile, Cassel mentioned yesterday that they might move to a new mansion today, so they had been diligently preparing since this morning.
Since there was no need for her to carry any belongings, she just needed to prepare to welcome the guests coming.
‘I’ll go with Aaron.’
Even though she didn’t want to see them again, she couldn’t let personal emotions dictate her actions.
Leilia wore a yellow dress and adorned herself with earrings with blue butterfly patterns. After styling her hair and putting on a bracelet, she stood up. It was now the tail end of spring, and since the weather was a bit warmer, she wore a dress that revealed her collarbone. As she stepped outside, she could see Cassel, who was in charge of moving the luggage. However, next to him, Aaron was begging him..
“Please take us with you as well! Even though the palace is willing to receive us, there would be no good positions available!”
Aaron was crying, and others were also clinging to Cassel.
‘…Aren’t they going?’
She saw the people who worked at the mansion. There were many unfamiliar faces among those moving the luggage.
“Madam Leilia!”
And Lucis was standing next to Cassel.
“You’re beautiful as always today.”
Leilia blushed at her husband’s words. The clothes brought from the warehouse were all gorgeous and colorful. Cassel then approached her and took hold of her hair before he kissed her.
“Clothes truly are wings, aren’t they?”
In response to Lucis’s words, she asked with curiosity.
“Why is Lucis here? And what does the butler mean?”
Cassel looked at Leilia for a moment.
“Oh, didn’t you know?”
Lucis was surprised.
“All the previous employees were dismissed, and we hired new people. Seychelle and I personally conducted the interviews.
At those words, she stared at Cassel.
“Did something like that happen?”
It was Cassel’s mansion, so it was his right to decide, though she still felt a bit disappointed that he hadn’t consulted with her even once.
“Let’s get on the carriage for now.”
As he said so, Cassel held her hand as if to appease her and led her into the carriage.
“The servants are waiting for you at the new mansion. Let’s go there first.”
“All right.”
“And… what I didn’t say…”
He gazed at her.
“Leilia was surprisingly soft-hearted, so I didn’t think you would be able to fire everyone.”
“That’s right, I wouldn’t have dismissed everyone. Among them, I kept those who were good at their jobs, but it’s a little disappointing to find out today like this.”
“I didn’t mean to wait until today to tell you.”
While saying that, Leilia looked at him as if something had occurred to her. Yesterday, during the intimate moment, Cassel seemed like he wanted to say something, but she fell asleep.
Still, why did he try to say something at that time?
She just remained silent. The memory of their intimate moment overwhelmed her, and she couldn’t bring herself to speak any further. Her cheeks grew warm, and she lowered her head slightly.
