Chapter 26.1
“I’ll bring an escort knight and a servant.”
“Thank you.”
“When will you be leaving?”
“Maybe tomorrow.”
“Since Madam Leilia has her employee, Seychelle, all you need is for Your Highness Cassel. There are trustworthy people at the association.”
After reassuring him, Lucis asked again.
“Though are you only going with the Madam? Is Your Highness going to take the mistress with you?”
Cassel’s eyebrows rose at Lucis’s words.
“There’s no mistress.”
He concluded with this one statement.
Still, Lucis, looking somewhat surprised, stared at him before the corners of his mouth twitched.
“Is that true?”
“It was a rumor circulated from the imperial family.”
“They pressured the Madam so much to divorce.”
Lucis nodded as he continued.
“They isolated her at the mansion and spread rumors that her husband had started a government there. All of it was to push Madam Leilia over the edge of a cliff.”
Nonetheless, Leilia didn’t waver.
She was that kind of woman.
She simply remained quiet and stamped her seal on the divorce papers.
“In any case, I’ll handle the matter. I’ll send someone by tomorrow morning to ensure the journey proceeds smoothly.”
“And there’s one more favor I’d like to ask.”
“What is it?”
Lucis replied cheerfully. It was as if Cassel was outraged by Leilia’s reality and wanted to do something about it.
“I intend to dismiss all the mansion’s employees.”
“But aren’t they people sent from the imperial family? Besides, wouldn’t they apologize if Your Highness comes out like this?”
“They aren’t even apologizing because they feel sorry for Leilia.”
Lucis laughed out loud at his sharp words.
“Why are you laughing?”
“No, it’s not that. Honestly, I didn’t expect Your Highness Cassel to be so angry about Madam Leilia’s situation.”
“It’s my wife’s affair.”
Cassel stated flatly and raised his teacup. His face was reflected in the teacup.
〈 Because she always helps me. 〉
Throughout the war, he had been saved time and time again by Leilia. Every time he thought of her, it felt like he was being saved. Therefore, he had no intention of keeping those who looked down on her by his side.
Reading Cassel’s determination, Lucis nodded.
“I’ll arrange for the necessary personnel.”
“Thank you.”
“Please don’t mention it.”
Cassel Jen Roten
Lucis was a little relieved to see that he cared for his wife. Even if he may not love Leilia, he cares for her and thinks that her sacrifice might be repaid to some extent.

‘…Is it morning?’
Leilia woke up with blurry eyes.
“I’m thirsty.”
At that moment, someone handed her a cup of water. As she took the cup and drank the water, Leilia regained her senses a little and saw that Seychelle was gazing at her.
“Seychelle.”
“His Highness told me to stay by your side until you woke up.”
“Where is he?”
“He’s in the study, looking over at some documents.”
Was he already working?
If he was just looking at the documents she had already looked over before, there shouldn’t be anything unusual.
“Is everything all right?”
“I’m not sure if there might be.”
“What do you mean?”
“His expression hardened when he saw the living expenses.”
The living expenses were rather limited.
Leilia smiled, thinking of the Emperor, who had been stingy with her.
“Historically, it was harsh on the wives of princes who went off to war.”
As if it was no big deal, she then got up and washed up. However, when she saw the marks he left on her collarbone, she told Seychelle that she would wash alone and told her to wait outside.
‘Ugh.’
She didn’t know this at all, but perhaps because of her fair skin, the marks seemed to linger more easily.
“What should I do?”
Despite the fact that he said that this kind of life was natural if they were a married couple, it didn’t seem like she would get used to it just yet. Then, as she came out of the bath with a robe, Seychelle dried her hair.
Watching her master, whose cheeks had turned red, she couldn’t help but stifle her laughter.
“Seychelle, just go ahead and laugh.”
“I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s okay.”
“That’s just part of married life.”
Seychelle had a good relationship with her husband.
“Will I get used to this?”
“Of course.”
While Leilia adorned her face as she dried her hair without saying a word, the door suddenly opened, and Cassel walked in.
“Are you awake?”
As he approached and stood beside her, she could see that his pupils were wavering as he looked at her.
“Is something wrong?”
“I looked at the budget breakdown you’ve been using to manage the house.”
Then, he sighed.
“The budget is too limited.”
“I didn’t expect much from the imperial family.”
“Still, it was too little.”
And from there, she even saved money to buy him a necklace and also supported him with a small donation, even though the Emperor dismissed it as mere money. Nevertheless, she couldn’t help but feel good when Cassel seemed to recognize her struggle.
