Chapter 50.2
“If Your Majesty personally travels to the territory to congratulate him, it will make a good impression on the people. However, the other imperial princes might see it as signaling increased competition.”
Leshulean nodded at Chelias’s comment. Granting Cassel the Balkan territory had already caused friction among the nobles, drawing sharp criticism. For this reason, it was necessary to make a show of maintaining good relations with Cassel.
The problem, however, was how the other princes would interpret such a gesture.
“What a predicament.”
Even though he had sought Chelias’s advice to resolve the issue, Chelias resolutely refused to provide a solution.
After much deliberation, Leshulean let out a sigh.
“I’m going down to the Balkan territory. Have a letter prepared for Cassel. I need to deliver something to him anyway.”
At Leshulean’s words, Chelias gave a small smile.
“A wise decision, Your Majesty.”
“Nothing ever goes as planned.”
Soon, a letter arrived at Cassel’s territory, announcing that the emperor would visit to congratulate him on the establishment of the knight order.

Leilia quickly sprang into action.
As soon as the letter announcing Leshulean’s visit arrived, she had no choice but to become extremely busy. There was an overwhelming amount to organize before the emperor’s arrival. Originally, she had planned a modest banquet with the old vassals of the Balkan territory, but with the emperor visiting, a grand celebration was now required.
“It’s nice that he’s coming, but could he at least give us more time to prepare?”
Seychelle, along with the maids and attendants, wasted no time getting to work. Under Leilia’s guidance, they cleaned every corner of the castle and prepared decorations and necessary items.
They had to start by preparing a room suitable for the emperor to stay in.
“Still, isn’t this a good thing?”
Seychelle gently reassured Leilia, who paused for a moment before giving a slight nod.
‘Well, maybe not.’
She couldn’t predict how the other imperial princes would perceive this visit.
Lisseltz came to mind immediately.
‘How arrogant.’
The man who had once approached her at the academy, trying to tie her down. He might not sit back and ignore Cassel any longer. The moment the emperor arrived here, it would be as good as announcing that Cassel had become the prince most favored by the emperor.

Cassel was inspecting the sword dance rehearsal that would be performed at the inauguration ceremony of the knight order’s founding ceremony alongside Zen and Calia. The knights moved into position with precision, executing their routine flawlessly.
Seeing no mistakes, he nodded in satisfaction.
“Good work.”
At his praise, the knights lowered their swords and took a break. It had become a routine to pause for rest whenever Cassel offered praise.
“Ah, here comes Lady Leilia.”
Cassel turned his gaze at Calia’s words.
He looked up to see his wife approaching, her steps light and graceful.
“How’s the training going, everyone?”
“It’s tough but rewarding!”
Calia replied with a cheerful smile.
“That’s a relief.”
Leilia then turned to address the future knights in front of her.
“A short while ago, a gift from the leader of the Hyllan Merchant Guild arrived.”
“A gift?”
The news came as a surprise, especially since it had been kept secret from everyone, including Zen and Calia.
“The leader of the Hyllan Merchant Guild has gifted you all armor and swords, with the hope that you’ll use them well for the protection of the Balkan territory.”
The knights erupted into murmurs.
“Armor and swords for all of us?”
Leilia nodded at Calia’s words.
“Not just any swords. They were crafted by the renowned Rocheval.”
At this, Zen and Calia were stunned.
“Those incredibly expensive weapons? We can’t just take something like that for free!”
“This doesn’t feel right!”
Zen shouted as well.
Watching them, Leilia spoke calmly.
“Your loyalty to my husband far exceeds the value of these gifts. The leader of the Hyllan Merchant Guild recognizes that as well.”
Her words left everyone silent.
Zen and Calia, like the others, had followed Cassel because they were inspired by his skill and character, not because they expected such lavish rewards.
“Why didn’t you try to stop the leader, Your Highness?”
Calia asked, and Cassel let out a sigh in response.
“They wouldn’t have listened, even if I tried to stop them. Besides, they aren’t wrong.”
Turning to face Zen, Calia, and the others, Cassel continued.
“I’m grateful to all of you for choosing to follow me.”
Everyone was moved by his words, and the knights bowed their heads before retreating to their respective rooms, where their new swords and armor awaited them.
“The emperor’s timing couldn’t be better. He’ll get to see the knights’ new armor and swords.”
“He might be surprised.”
Probably so.
If the emperor found out that the Hyllan Merchant Guild had provided the knights’ armor and swords, his eyes would surely widen in astonishment.
“Thank you.”
Cassel stepped closer and clasped her hand tightly. The warmth of his touch made Leilia’s cheeks flush bright red.
