When the Villainess Died, the Male Lead Went Crazy - Chapter 154.1
“Uuuck…!”
“Everyone, get out immediately! Are you alright? Wife!”
Kylian, startled by Anais’s nausea, quickly shooed the servants out. He then checked to see if she was alright. Anais was retching severely. Since it had been a while since she had eaten, her stomach seemed empty, causing the nausea.
Seeing tears form in her eyes, Kylian became concerned.
“The smell of pork… it’s just horrible.”
“It seems there’s something wrong with the cooking. I’ll have the chef dismissed.”
“Don’t do that.”
Anais gradually started to feel better. Though she grimaced several times, holding back more retching, she soon calmed down.
“I suddenly crave something sweet.”
“Understood.”
Filled with worry, Kylian pulled her close and hugged her tightly.
“Please, don’t be sick, Wife.”
“Kylian…”
“I’m afraid you’ll be in pain again.”
Kylian’s voice trembled. After having experienced Anais’s death once, he was terrified of seeing her showing any sign of illness. He couldn’t imagine living without her. It would be better if he was the one in pain.
He felt like he deserved the pain, and no matter the cost, he would bear it ten times over to spare her from any suffering.
“I should visit the Temple of Deals.”
“What?”
“Never mind. Please wait just a moment.”
Kylian hugged her tightly once more, then released her. He pulled the bell cord again and stepped out of the room. He instructed the servants to bring something sweet.
When Kylian returned, Anais was staring blankly at the door.
“Wife?”
“Uh…Why is this happening…?”
Anais was crying for no apparent reason.
“Wife, why are you like this? I’m sorry. Please, don’t cry.”
Kylian panicked and immediately ran to her side. Anais stood up and threw herself into his arms. Kylian, unsure of what to do, stood awkwardly, unable to respond.
“Why do you disappear without saying anything! Huh…”
“No… I…”
Though Kylian was flustered, he understood that she was crying because she couldn’t see him, and his heart warmed.
“It’s my fault. I’m sorry, Wife.”
“Huuh, uhh…”
As he comforted the crying Anais, a servant knocked on the door.
The servant quietly opened the door and, sensing the situation, placed the parfait, chocolate, and macaroons on the table. Then, glancing at the emperor comforting Anais, the servant quickly disappeared.
“Wife, since you said you’re hungry, I think it’s best if you eat something for now.”
“Ugh, hu… yes…”
Anais sniffled and cried before eventually calming down. Kylian quickly grabbed the parfait first, not wanting it to melt.
He scooped a large spoonful with a long teaspoon and fed it to Anais. Her tear-streaked cheek moved slightly.
Kylian, watching Anais calm down, slowly fed her the entire parfait, one spoonful at a time.
“You’ve got some on your mouth, Wife.”
“Do you want to eat it?”
“…Yes.”
Seeing the cream on her lips, Kylian leaned in and kissed her. He didn’t particularly like sweets, but he enjoyed the idea of them sticking to his wife’s lips.
“It’s delicious.”
“Right?”
“Yes. It’s the best thing I’ve tasted so far. From now on, I’ll only eat what’s on your lips.”
Kylian smiled warmly and looked at Anais. Anais met his gaze with a red gaze.
“I’m done eating, so… let’s…”
“Yes.”
“Let’s sleep a little longer.”
Kylian didn’t want to miss the chance to rest with Anais. However, he wasn’t sure if he could just hold her without complicating things.
“Uh… Wife…”
“Do you not want to?”
“…No. How could I say no…”
Kylian sighed, seemingly content, as he lazily watched Anais snuggle into him.
And so, another long night passed.

“Who dared serve this kind of food?”
Kylian glared at the head attendant with piercing eyes as he and Anais sat in the dining room, eating.
“Th, this, this is…”
“How dare you put lemon in my wife’s food? Do you want your head cut off? Bring the royal chef here.”
“Your, Your Majesty!”
The head attendant cried out, flustered.
The issue, however, was Anais, who was sitting in front of her food, dozing off.
She looked like someone who hadn’t slept for days, nodding off repeatedly. Right now, she had her fork and knife in hand, eyes closed, so Kylian hadn’t noticed.
But the servants, who were facing her directly, could see that the empress was asleep.
“Please, spare me!”
The head chef, dragged in by Captain Rainier, shouted.
“How can someone who doesn’t know the Empress’s taste be called a royal chef? How dare you put lemon in my wife’s food?”
“Your, Your Majesty, that’s…”
“No excuses. Take him to prison.”
“Kylian!”
At that moment, Anais woke up with a start and called out to him.
“Yes, Wife.”
