We're in a Contract Marriage, But I've Imprinted - Chapter 155
“Alpha, Alpha. How great can an Alpha be? It’s so noisy it’s driving me mad.”
“…I apologize.”
Startled by the cold, almost cutting tone, the doctor quickly apologized. However, Ian, with eyes out of focus, continued to address him.
“Does it make you feel more at ease to think that everything is just how you were born? Betas?”
“….”
The doctor was at a loss for words and remained silent. But Ian persisted, his questions relentless.
“Have you ever considered that it’s because you lot don’t put in any effort?”
“…I’m sorry for speaking out of turn, Duke.”
“It must be nice for Betas. You don’t have to suffer from pheromones, and you can praise Alphas when it suits you and criticize Omegas when you’re in a bad mood.”
“….”
The doctor simply bowed his head, hoping for the situation to end. The Duke’s ominous aura was intimidating, but his words had a point.
“How dare you judgmental creatures act so high and mighty.”
“I, I apologize…”
“You probably underestimated Melissa too, didn’t you? With your pathetic Beta pride, how much did you belittle her?”
Ian suddenly had a realization. Yes, he needed to start by dealing with the rats in this house. That way, even if his Omega returned, she wouldn’t have to suffer.
Having reached a conclusion, he grabbed the doctor by the collar and stood up.
“Ugh, Du, Duke…”
The body slowly rising form resembled a grand mountain stretching its limbs. Hidden beneath his clothes, the Duke’s body was imposing.
As his naked form seemed to radiate energy like a mirage, the doctor could only gasp for breath under the overwhelming pressure.
“You’re not the only one.”
Ian dragged the doctor out, showing no concern for his state. The maids waiting in the hallway were startled by the Duke’s nakedness and either screamed and fled from the menacing aura or fainted on the spot.
Regardless, Ian continued to drag the doctor along.
“Cough, Du, ke!”
Struggling to escape, the doctor only managed to break free when they reached the first floor of the mansion.
“Cough.”
“Duke, what is this about…”
Henry was stunned by Ian’s reckless behavior. However, Ian seemed indifferent to his own condition, glancing around and pointing at the head maid nearby.
“You, and you, and you!”
Ian scrutinized the faces of the servants around him, pointing at each one. Then he called out to Henry.
“Expel these people immediately. Ensure they never set foot in the capital again!”
“Why are you doing this, Master?”
Henry tried to intervene, but he couldn’t get close. The fierce aura emanating from Ian made him tremble even from a distance.
“She wasn’t supposed to be left alone…”
Wouldn’t it have been more comfortable for her if things had been different? No, wasn’t the one who troubled her Omega the most right here? He suddenly felt confused.
Standing still, staring into the void, a booming voice echoed through the hall.
“What is going on here!”
Henry showed relief at the sound of the former Duke’s voice. Not just Henry, but all the servants present shared the same expression of relief.
Ian turned his gaze towards his father, who was striding into the mansion. Staring blankly, he let out a small laugh. Since his mother’s death, there had been no contact, and his father’s appearance seemed no different from his own.
Although it hadn’t been long since his mother’s funeral, his father appeared to have aged several years prematurely. Despite his neatly combed white hair and well-tailored suit, his father’s inner self seemed utterly pitiful.
It was amusing to see two Alphas, who had lost their Omega, meet each other in such a state.
“Ian Von Bryant! What is the meaning of this?”
“I’m purging the insolent servants who blind and deafen the master.”
“Well, to me, it looks like the master is simply blaming innocent servants.”
“Do you wish to take over as the master of the mansion now?”
“…What?”
The former Duke couldn’t hide his astonishment at Ian’s words. His son’s sarcasm was shocking, as he had never before spoken out against him.
Ian, sneering at his father’s astonished expression, turned him aside. Though he appeared calm, his mind was already prioritizing tasks. There were urgent matters to address.
“I understand why you’re here, but if you’ve come to lecture me, then you can leave.”
“…Ian.”
“Henry! Bring the commander of the knights immediately!”
As his butler hurried outside, the head maid wiped sweat from her brow, anxiously observing her surroundings.
She had a bad feeling. Ian had looked at her as if he intended to kill her. She recalled reporting the state of the Duke’s family to Monica in secret. Remembering that there were letters she hadn’t yet dealt with, the head maid’s expression turned pale with worry.
“Don’t move from this spot. If you disobey my orders, whether you are guilty or not, you will be detained without exception.”
At his low, threatening command, the numerous servants gathered in the lobby exchanged nervous glances and bowed their heads. The knight commander arrived with Henry.
“You called for me, Your Grace?”
“From now on, assemble the entire knight order and search all the rooms of the servants.”
“Yes, I will obey!”
As the knight commander hurried out, Ian turned to Henry with another order.
“Have the butler gather all the servants and assemble them.”
“Yes, Master.”
The long-standing anger that had been building up within Ian flared anew upon seeing his father. It was almost a relief that he had shown up at this moment.
With eyes blazing, Ian addressed his father.
“I’ll take care of what you’ve neglected.”
