Weed ~The One’s Gardener~ - Chapter 2
When Hana looked surprised and remained still, the man became even more nervous. He bent his knees to meet her eye level as she sat on the bed. No, he rather looked up at her.
“…As expected, things seem to be wrong. Give us a little time, and we will definitely send you back. Since you came over like this because of our negligence, we will make sure that there is no lack of service in the meantime.”
Listening to his words, Hana touched her throbbing forehead. Even though she couldn’t understand what language the man was using or what he was talking about, she understood what he was talking about while still not understanding what he was saying.
It made no sense to speak an unfamiliar language to her and it was beyond common sense, but Hana tried to speak it.
“Um… excuse me?”
The contents of the language she spat out for the first time were quite out of her mind. This time, the man widened his eyes in surprise, and he had a very thrilled expression.
“Oh, thank you. You speak the language of this place…”
Come to think of it, the loud sound that woke her up was also speaking in this language.
Even though she heard it, she didn’t recognize it because she thought it was just noise. While she didn’t know why she was able to understand and even speak the language, Hana decided to think about that later. After all, there was something else more important than that.
“Who are you? Where is this place? I’m sure…”
Asking that, she got up suddenly.
Hana raggedly lifted the blanket covering her lower body. Her legs were still attached without a single scar. And as she touched her thighs, calves and even her toes just in case, the sensations remained the same.
Surprised, the words continued to flow from her mouth.
“I was driving on a mountain road…”
She was driving until she apparently lost consciousness. There was an accident, and she was seriously injured. She even thought it was going to end in a disaster because the place was sparsely populated. At that moment, she heard hallucinations and lost consciousness before opening her eyes in this unknown place…
As she recalled her memories, Hana glanced around.
This room was also strange. It was a room decorated like a bedroom of some old Western noble. She had heard that there was a hotel with this concept. However, the room was too large to be treated as a hotel. It was too wide.
In addition, there was one more peculiar thing. Although they must be indoors, the floor was grass…
“Where… is this?”
Hana asked again in a trembling voice.
Even though dreamlike sights unfolded casually, she couldn’t think of them as dreams. It was strangely overflowing with a sense of reality. Above all, she had been sleeping until just now so she could tell whether this situation was a dream or not.
But for a while, this mysterious, handsome man answered in a dream-like voice.
“This is the center of the world.”
“…Yes? Where is this?”
The man repeated what he had just said, answering her bewildered question. He seemed to find it strange, too, so he added an explanation of his own way.
“This place is called the center of the world, the edge of the void, La de Rigna Initia.”
“Ah, wait a minute. La? Ini… what?”
She was on a remote mountain road in Korea when she lost consciousness. From Hana’s point of view, when he said it was the center of the world, she couldn’t understand at once.
Nonetheless, looking at his serious amber eyes, the man didn’t feel like he was joking. However, the situation was too strange to accept as a fact.
For some reason, the man had a polite demeanor. Hana didn’t understand that the most. Judging from the words that he would send her back or that she had come here because of their negligence, it seemed that he was clearly in the wrong position.
“What do you mean you’re going to send me back? Are you saying I came here by mistake?”
She asked after rolling the still-unfamiliar language in her mind. She decided that it would be better to hear how she got here than to ask where this was.
The man looked a little nervous, then nodded his head.
“Yes… it’s a mistake. You came from another world through a special ceremony here.”
“Another world?”
“Yes, another higher dimension…”
He paused for a moment and seemed to think about how to explain. Nonetheless, she understood it surprisingly faster than the man thought.
A strange language. A strange space. The scenery inside this odd room, and even the man’s unreal appearance and his explanation… wasn’t it just like the situation that she could only see in movies and novels?
Still, Hana asked, uncertainly.
“Ah… by any chance. A dimension shift? Are you talking about that? Is the place I’m returning to the dimension I originally lived in? Are you saying that it was a mistake for me to come here, so you will send me back?”
The man’s complexion brightened showing her had guessed right as he looked visibly relieved.
“What a relief. It seems to be normal where you come from. If you know how and the way back, I will be happy to guide you if needed. If you need supplies, we will prepare them as soon as possible.”
“No, not that…”
Should she say it was normal or not? To be honest, it was absurd though she was now speaking other languages at will, it surely would be nothing but dimension-shifting.
“It’s not common in my place either.”
There was a concept of dimension shift. Despite that, that was not exactly common, and it only existed in movies or novels. Hana didn’t know how to explain it to the man, so she boldly left out the words movie or novel.
The dimension movers that she usually saw in movies or novels were the main characters. Usually young people with a sense of justice… and she was far from that. Moreover, seeing that the man emphasized that it was a ‘mistake,’ it seemed that he originally intended to call someone else.
“Honestly, it happened so suddenly and I’m taken aback… but how long will you be like that? Sit here.”
“…Would that be okay?”
“This is not even my house… It’s kind of bad to talk while looking down at people.”
As she said that, Hana stepped back a bit. Besides, the room was spacious, and the bed was also large enough for both of them to sit comfortably.
The man was still a bit hesitant, but he eventually came over and sat down next to her.
She didn’t know because he had deliberately lowered his posture, but as they sat next to each other, the man was exceptionally large. Looking a little closer, she saw that his eyebrows and eyelashes were jade-colored, so it seemed that he hadn’t dyed them.
Light green hair… It was also a very strange color.
Feeling embarrassed for staring into his golden eyes, Hana slightly slanted her gaze. Meanwhile, the man for some reason kept trying to meet her eyes. Although she asked him to sit next to her, he was too close, and he seemed unwilling to distance himself.
Hana tossed and turned in a sitting position to put a little more distance from him. However, the man tried to close the distance again, so she gave up and said her business.
“Let me ask you a few questions. Has it been a long time since I came here?”
“Not long ago. You were unconscious for about three days.”
Seeing that her body was lethargic, he seemed to be right. Hana checked her body condition by touching her arms, legs, and neck. There were no outward abnormalities.
Looking back at her memories, she could only think of the pain immediately after the accident.
She lost consciousness, and when she woke up, she was here. Her body would have rolled over with the car, and her whole body would have been disfigured… not only that but it was strange that there were no scars left on her body—especially on her leg which was severe, where the scars were supposed to remain.
Hana raised her arm and noticed the loose sleeves of the nightgown. Of course, her clothes were also changed.
She didn’t know what condition she was brought into. Still, she was certain that mistake or not, it had prevented her from dying. While the other party was apologetic, looking at the situation, she should be thankful.
‘But where is it? I can’t live without it…’
Hana asked the man, measuring the size of something with her thumb and forefinger.
“Did you see a bottle like this? There were several pills in it.”
“Medicine? I haven’t seen anything but you. What type of medications did you need? I will prepare something similar.”
“Ah, then… I’m sorry, but I’ll have to ask you for a favor then.”
“It is not a problem at all.”
Hana tried to explain the type of medicine she was taking as much as possible, and strangely, the man seemed to understand it well. It was nothing difficult. It was a painkiller, so it was just a medicine with a simple function.
Even if the culture was different, it was not difficult to explain as long as she could speak the language.
First of all, there was no language barrier. It was fortunate the communication between them worked out.
Hana soon decided to relax a little. No matter how, this was not something she could do anything about and she wasn’t the type to get on her nerves for long about things she couldn’t do, but she still felt that she should know what she should.
