Weed ~The One’s Gardener~ - Chapter 105
Weed moved to sit in front of Hana. His lips brushed against the back of her hand. As he continued to tidy her nails, the rough and bumpy texture of the file made her feel a pleasant tickle.
Surrendering her hands to him, she relaxed in the comfortable sensation as he spoke.
“You haven’t lived as a human for long, have you? Since your body is formed based on your mind and experience, it will take a bit of time. If the priests were to transform into something like a rabbit and wander around, they wouldn’t be as strong as they are now.”
“Ah, do I have to live in this form for a long time? How long?”
“Yes. It won’t take too long, but… there’s no need to rush. You’ve always been strong, and you will continue to be stronger than anyone else here.”
That was enough explanation for Hana. After all, she possessed the most noble divine power in this world, so there was nothing to worry about. Feeling somewhat reassured by Weed’s words, she allowed him to move on from her nails to her feet.
“You’ll become stronger by doing everything you want to do and feeling everything you wish to feel.”
He placed his lips on her knee and spoke as if he was singing. He looked as though he was ready to grant any wish she might have. Hana surrendered to his ticklish touch, her gaze drifting toward the sunlit window.
Outside, cicadas chirped. It was peaceful, without any issues.
She had thought they wouldn’t be able to welcome this season together, but now it reminded her of sweet, refreshing moments shared between them.
“Actually, there’s something I want to eat…”
“Yes, please tell me!”
Weed suddenly lifted his head. His eagerness made it seem like he was ready to build a castle just to satisfy her wish, but what she desired felt rather trivial in comparison.
Lately, she has been thinking about it a lot.
“But somehow, I feel like, no, I’m sure Weed won’t like it…”
Unable to resist his bright expression, Hana finally opened her mouth.
“Well…”
As she spoke, he nodded confidently.
For a moment, his confidence faltered. For the first time in his life, he was forced to confront the realization of his own powerlessness.
It was even infuriating.
What Hana longed to remember and taste was something simple—a cold treat of ice cream topped with strawberries.
The strawberries Weed grew were the finest, and the milk and eggs provided by the priests were of unparalleled quality, the best their world could offer.
It wasn’t difficult to make. In fact, he could easily prepare it for her with just a brief explanation.
The real issue was her reaction. He could tell whether she liked it or not from the slightest movement of her eyebrows, the curve of her lips, or even just from her breathing… and it was not a satisfying response at all.
“Um, it’s delicious.”
“Really?”
“Uum…”
She certainly liked it, but her reaction was lukewarm.
“Is it not to your liking? Hana, can you explain in more detail?”
“Ah, it’s just… I’m not good at describing things like this.”
Hana didn’t deny that she felt something was missing, but she couldn’t clearly articulate what it was. After all, neither of them were chefs.
Weed felt increasingly frustrated. When one doesn’t need to eat but still feels a desire to do so, the satisfaction can bring immense joy. Hana said it was fine, though it disappointed him that he couldn’t meet that satisfaction.
Seeing him fidgeting, she sighed.
“Actually, I wondered if I should even say this…”
“Yes?”
Hana sheepishly scratched her cheek with one finger.
“Remember the human? It was from Calden. It just seemed different from regular ice cream, but I couldn’t put my finger on it… Ah, I’m not comparing at all! It’s just that it reminded me of that time. I’m really fine with this, Weed.”
She wanted to be considerate of Weed.
She recalled that when she had previously mentioned Calden, his reaction had not been great. It didn’t seem like he liked him. And, more importantly, what Weed had made was truly delicious. She was just being honest because she could sense his disappointment.
‘Was I worrying for nothing?’
However, after hearing her words, Weed only shook his head for a moment, not showing any particular discomfort. Instead, he smiled brightly as if thankful that she had finally responded.
“You should have told me sooner! Then I’ll call him over. He’s an expert in cooking, after all.”
“Is that okay?”
“What could possibly be the problem? As a human, he cannot refuse the call of this place.”
Weed smiled widely as if there was absolutely no issue at all.
Without any hesitation, he prepared to summon Calden, leaning forward to place a soft kiss on her forehead before bowing his head and exiting the room. Hana touched the spot where his lips had been and realized that they had misinterpreted what they had just said to each other. She wanted to ask him if it was okay to see him, but he understood it differently and responded accordingly.
The conclusion was that she had just called upon the king of a nation to come as a cook. Casually, without a care in the world.

“What sweetness do you prefer: the sweetness of bread or that of fruit?”
“The latter.”
“Please choose from cookies, chocolate, or fruit.”
“Fruit.”
“Do you prefer a texture where ice crunches or something softer?”
“No… I like it soft.”
“Please taste one of these and choose which you prefer.”
“Um… I’ll take this one.”
Hana answered Calden’s questions while enjoying spoonfuls of the luscious ice cream topped with strawberries.
Before long, she was able to meet Calden.
