Time-Limited Saintess, You've Been Caught by the Tyrant Once Again - Chapter 89
Chapter 45.1
Despite the clear, sunny day, the atmosphere turned grim the moment Harald appeared. A boy with red hair and crimson eyes glared at them, his gaze filled with murderous intent.
“Your Highness!”
“I heard everything. She didn’t even apologize?”
“Your Highness, please wait—”
“Stay out of this!”
Harald shouted fiercely as he stepped in front of Ellin, looking as though he might tear Liliana’s face apart at any moment.
“Your Highness, this isn’t my fault, but rather the fault of the one who failed to properly look after the Princess.”
Liliana said, her face returning to its usual angelic expression as she spoke carefully, as if afraid. But who was Harald? When it came to his sister—or, really, in most cases—logic didn’t apply to him at all.
“What kind of nonsense is that? So you’re saying it’s not your fault?”
“Your Highness, you’re being disrespectful to the Saintess.”
“The disrespect was what she did to my sister and you!”
Harald yelled, his frustration mounting. He crossed his arms like a street thug, glaring at Liliana, who was the same height as him.
“Did Charlotte invite you in? If you had permission, the lights would’ve been on. You just walked into a room where the owner wasn’t even present, uninvited, and now you’re trying to shift the blame? Are you missing something?”
Surprisingly, Harald was being logical. Liliana struggled to maintain her soft smile, and Ellin could almost hear the sound of her mask cracking.
“I only came to greet Her Highness the Princess, that’s all. Something just happened…”
“Stop. You’re embarrassing yourself.”
“….”
‘…Is this really okay?’
Ellin had never experienced such humiliation, not even when she was the Saintess. Harald didn’t care at all about Liliana’s polite demeanor.
Liliana’s mask was on the verge of shattering.
He placed his hand on the hilt of his sword, but as Ellin gently nudged him with her shoulder, he let out a heavy sigh.
“Hey, let’s go.”
He gestured with his chin.
“Your Highness, but even so, speaking to the Saintess like this…”
At Ellin’s words, he let out a frustrated sigh.
“Are you stupid?”
“Your Highness, with all due respect, where did you pick up such crude language…”
Harald shouted, exasperated.
“I won’t use it in front of Charlotte, so just worry about her!”
He yelled furiously.

“Should we kick her out?”
Bronn, who had been reading a report, flinched. In the meanwhile, Marquis Kasmin’s face turned pale, and he asked in disbelief.
“Who?”
“The fake.”
“Are you out of your mind?”
Kasmin’s tone turned disrespectful in his shock.
He had gone through all the trouble to bring the Saintess here, and now Arkan wanted to send her away? Already, the fact that the Emperor, who hailed from Normaty, hadn’t even invited the Pope to the coronation had pushed their relationship to the breaking point.
Anger blazed in Arkan’s eyes.
“I put a snake in that seat.”
“Please, calm down. What brought this on all of a sudden?”
The reason the Pope hadn’t left the capital was because he knew they wouldn’t baptize Arkan or Harald. They hadn’t received baptism, and Arkan didn’t invite the Pope to the coronation either. It had turned into a situation where both sides were snubbing each other.
“What are you going to do if the Pope decides to return to Skone?”
“Then I’ll expose that fake Saintess. Let him do as he pleases.”
Arkan gritted his teeth.
Marquis Kasmin stared at him in disbelief. He had truly lost his mind. The military wasn’t even fully prepared yet, and now they were on the brink of conflict with the temple.
“Are you insane? Do you even know where the Papal States are located?”
“Let them go. I’ll wipe them out.”
The Papal States were situated at the border of the neighboring country, Skone. What would happen if the enraged Pope fled to Skone? What if he declared a crusade against Nicaea, claiming the demon of Normaty had taken over? Or worse, what if real demons showed up before that?
As if to answer that unspoken concern, Arkan opened his mouth.
“If it comes to that, I’ll handle it.”
Hearing those words, Marquis Kasmin’s tense expression eased. Arkan was an undefeated war hero. Wasn’t he the one who had defeated demonic beasts and monsters that ordinary people couldn’t handle?
Of course, there were always whispers behind his back, saying that only a demon could kill a demon.
“Huu. Are you planning to pass the throne to your brother if this goes south?”
Arkan didn’t respond to that remark.
There were several reasons why Arkan had fabricated and sent a fake Saintess, but the biggest was to challenge the temple’s claim that everything they said was absolute truth. It was enough to diminish their authority and turn them into a laughingstock. That was why he had been lenient with Liliana.
“That cunning thing. After I raised her to the position of Saintess, she doesn’t even appreciate that grace…”
“Doesn’t appreciate it?”
“She touched my people.”
“Oh, I’ve heard about that.”
It was widely rumored that the Saintess had pushed the Princess… but meddling with his people?
Marquis Kasmin thought about it for a moment and quickly realized what Arkan meant. Something must have happened with Angelia again.
He thought about Liliana. How could she be so foolish…
“I was willing to let Charlotte’s incident slide as a mistake. But for her to act so insolently right after that?”
The reason Arkan had been able to ascend the throne, despite his habit of spilling blood in the imperial palace whenever he was angered, was because of Kasmin.
He was the only one in the capital who supported Arkan, owing to a life debt he owed him. Unlike Arkan, Kasmin excelled at diplomacy. Thanks to him, they had been able to convince the great houses of Tuberan and Lenea, making the conquest of the capital possible.
A shrewd look flashed in Kasmin’s eyes.
“Yes, with rumors about Princess Charlotte’s ear condition and the Saintess’s actions spreading everywhere, the imperial palace can’t just sit idly by without responding.”
“….”
Arkan looked at Marquis Kasmin.
“There’s a way to humiliate the Saintess without you getting blamed, without causing a major rift with the temple, and without shedding a single drop of blood.”
The Marquis spoke as if he were singing.
“Well, I’d rather just kick her out than bother thinking about all that.”
Just then, a knock sounded, followed by an urgent voice from behind the door.
