Time-Limited Saintess, You've Been Caught by the Tyrant Once Again - Chapter 37
Chapter 19.1
“So, the one who sold this was a man?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
The merchant’s words elicited a sigh from Maynard. Despite the efforts to trace the seller of the Golden Bible, the trail had led to a ‘man,’ and there was no mention of a woman with dark brown hair and light green eyes.
“What did he look like?”
“Well, he was wearing a hood so I couldn’t see his face clearly, but he was very tall. A young man, and his nose…”
“Any other distinctive features?”
“None that I noticed. Ah! He had a scar.”
“A scar?”
“Yes, there was a scar. It ran long and vertically on the back of his hand.”
Narrowing his eyes, Maynard nodded his head while Lennon asked him quietly.
“Perhaps, could it be that Ellin sold out that man?”
“Well, maybe. In any case, take this guy. He must bear the responsibility for purchasing holy artifacts haphazardly.”
“Pa, paladin! Please forgive me.”
Even though the merchant begged, Maynard was relentless before he took off, walking away in a different direction.
“Where are we heading this time?”
“Let’s not waste time and return to the temple. I need to meet High Priest Erich.”

“Did you say Elena?”
As Arkan asked, his aide nodded.
“Yes. There used to be a woman named Elena living in the village before she moved away. Everyone was quiet and didn’t talk about it, but they started talking after I gave them some money.”
“Why wouldn’t they want to talk about it?”
“The lord and his daughter, who is now the current ‘saint,’ drove her out because they wanted her land. Knowing Viscount Timothy’s character, it’s quite obvious that he would’ve retaliated against the villagers if they dared to speak ill of him.”
“Viscount Timothy and the villagers who couldn’t even talk about the candidate for the saint are equally pathetic.”
Arkan chuckled.
“So, what is the description of this woman named Elena?”
“It’s said that she had platinum blonde hair, fair skin, and green eyes. She was said to have a beautiful appearance that Viscount Timothy took an interest in her.”
“Is that so?”
…Platinum blonde hair and green eyes.
An image of a woman flickered in his thoughts. It was Ellin, the commoner Angellia, who was currently residing here. However, Arkan dismissed the idea that Elena and Ellin could be the same individual. No matter how much he disliked the temple, he wouldn’t be so naïve as to overlook the saint right before his eyes.
Platinum blonde hair and green eyes weren’t characteristics exclusive to that particular woman.
“Have you found her?”
“No. It’s difficult to find records of commoners, I’m afraid. Even though we traced her movements to nearby cities, the trail disappeared because those places are frequented by outsiders.”
“Find her, no matter how long it takes.”
…Elena.
He muttered the name.
The moment it left his lips, a strong conviction surged within him that she was indeed the saint. Although a prophecy had foretold the emergence of a saint in the village, none of the women residing there bore God’s sigil. Therefore, the logical deduction led to the person who had once been in the village and then left. It was a straightforward conclusion.
“Does the temple know about this information?”
“No, not at all. They have stopped searching since Viscount Timothy announced his daughter as the Saint. We even checked secretly, but there’s no sign of her being secretly sought either.”
Arkan nodded.
He couldn’t help but scorn the ignorant temple fools. They remained oblivious to the fact that the current Saint was none other than the one the Emperor had deliberately chosen to mock them. Even the Saint herself was unaware of the Emperor behind her, standing unwittingly as his pawn. Even now, no one knew about his astute machinations.
A contented smile adorned his face.
“But why did Your Majesty call the Saint here?”
“Just to see how stupid she is. Last time at the banquet, I couldn’t get a proper look because of that d*mn Pope, so I wanted to confirm with my own eyes.”
“Yes?”
“Even if we leave her alone, she’ll ruin herself. Give her enough help, then step back.”
A disgusted chuckle slipped from his lips as he thought of Liliana. She bore a resemblance to his elder brother—foolish and power-hungry. Even if she attempted to masquerade as the Saint, she lacked the innate grace possessed by that commoner Angelia.
At the thought, his brows knitted.
Why did his thoughts invariably circle back to that woman? She had an uncanny way of persistently occupying his mind.
“Your Majesty, breakfast is ready.”
Would she choose to don the attire he had gifted her today? A peculiar sense of anticipation welled up within him.
Right at that moment, his aide called for him again.
“Your Majesty, it seems there was an incident at the temple.”
“What happened?”
“It’s been reported that the Golden Bible, a treasure possessed by High Priest Erich, had been sold without permission.”
“Really?”
“There was a commotion at the temple just before Your Majesty summoned her, and they say the one who sold it was the commoner Angelia.”

As Erich scrutinized Paul’s face, who kept his head down, a frigid air replaced his once affable countenance, leaving behind an icy and merciless visage. His gaze then fell upon Paul’s hand, where a distinct scar—a sword injury undoubtedly earned in the line of duty as a paladin—stood out in stark relief. Instantly recognizing the mark, Maynard brought Paul forward and presented him before Erich.
“So, you received the Golden Bible from Miss Ellin and sold it?”
“Y-yes, that’s right. She said she got permission from High Priest Erich and didn’t know where to sell it…”
Paul knelt before Erich, who sat in his chair, resting his chin on his hand while staring at him. The orange eyes seemed to devour everything, and he was mesmerized by just that gaze alone.
“Yes.”
“So, where did Miss Ellin give that to you, Paladin Paul? In her room? Or…”
