The Unlikely Imprint of the Villainess and the Male Lead - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Translator: Yonnee
—
Despite everything, Luciana continued to stand relentlessly by her innocence.
‘If this continues, a misunderstanding will become the truth.’
She couldn’t stand being wrongly accused without even having a proper conversation.
“To be precise… ‘accident’ seems like the appropriate term. Something for which no one can be blamed.”
And I’m sorry, but could you cover your lower part, if you’d be so kind…?
Luciana tried hard to avoid looking at the large, intimidating thing that had been drawing her eyes, staring at the ceiling instead.
“……”
At Luciana’s tiny voice, Richt belatedly realized his state and pulled the blanket over himself. He didn’t seem embarrassed about showing his body.
“An accident?”
His voice was still eerily calm, as if warning that if she lied, she wouldn’t get away unscathed.
‘Does he think I’ll be s-scared if he just glared at me like that?’
Luciana met Richt’s gaze, which looked like it would swallow her whole, and continued speaking.
“If we must blame something, isn’t alcohol the problem?”
“That…”
From the woman speaking, there was a faint scent of champagne, just like himself.
‘Alcohol.’
Richt tried to recall his remaining memories.
Despite his social standing, he avoided social activities, but even he attended large balls at the imperial palace—more because of the emperor’s persistent demands than his own will.
‘I attended yesterday for a similar reason.’
Richt remembered drinking a few glasses of wine to stave off the boredom from tedious conversations with the emperor and other nobles about business.
His last memory was sipping champagne on the balcony to escape the endless crowd.
‘Hah. Are you saying I got drunk from just a bit of wine?’
Richt knew his tolerance better than anyone.
Based on his remaining memory, he had emptied quite a few glasses but hadn’t felt even a mild buzz, remaining completely sober.
And most importantly, Richt never drank to the point that he’d black out.
‘You’re telling me I drank so much I can’t remember and ended up rolling around in bed with a woman I don’t know…’
Am I supposed to believe that?
Richt narrowed his eyes, as if the story wasn’t worth responding to.
“You’re talking nonsense.”
“W-What did you say?”
Without a moment’s hesitation, he dismissed her claim, leaving Luciana speechless.
It was unfortunate for Luciana, who had presented a reasonable argument, but among the countless options in Richt’s mind, the notion that he might have desired her didn’t exist at all.
Thus, Richt was about to tell the woman, who was watching him nervously, that alcohol was just an excuse for her fabricated actions.
But in the end, he couldn’t say a word.
He had just realized something that proved his assumptions were wrong.
“!”
As he racked his brain nervously, Richt’s steadfast red eyes suddenly wavered with confusion.
The bedroom, feeling somewhat empty due to its minimal decorations, was unmistakably his private space.
‘What the…?’
The suddenness of this incident had left him in a daze, and only now did he recognize the room he knew all too well.
‘This can’t be.’
Facing reality, Richt was thrown into turmoil.
If, as he claimed, Luciana had maliciously lured him, they would never have ended up here in his room.
No matter what tricks she might have used, entering his personal domain was a completely different matter.
The attendants Richt kept in his abode served him the closest, and they knew better than anyone else how much he kept women at a distance.
Unless they had no regard for their lives, they would never have quietly brought a woman, who had appeared with their inebriated master, into his bedroom.
‘Damn it. Just how…?’
There was only one way the woman could have entered this place.
She could only have entered with Richt’s explicit permission.
