Chapter 2

‘…What a nice voice.’
Luciana’s golden eyes, reminiscent of dandelions, slowly fluttered to a close as she basked in the pleasant echo of the man’s low groan.
She wondered if it was alright to be so carefree after causing such a stir. But while leaning against the man’s warm upper body and while listening to his groggy voice in his sleep, it somehow made her feel as relaxed as a cat basking in the lazy, afternoon sun.
The man’s deep voice and the subtle scent made her want to embrace him and never let go. Lastly, his ferocious muscles, which fit Luciana’s tastes, subtly instilled some expectations.
Gulp.
Though she couldn’t remember properly because of the alcohol, the way her throat was thoroughly raspy indicated that the night must have been well spent.
“Mm…”
“Ah!”
At that moment.
As if to punish her for harboring lascivious thoughts about him, the man hugged Luciana’s body even tighter.
“?!”
Simultaneously, her unguarded rosy lips touched his sturdy chest.
It happened so quickly, without a chance to avoid it…
…Luciana ended up kissing the man’s naked body.
‘What is this…!’
Despite having had naughty thoughts just moments ago, Luciana felt as though she had crossed a forbidden line, snapping her head back and clenching her lips tightly.
“Eep!”
A soft friction sound came from her lips, and a heavy low voice was heard from above her head.
It was then that the muscles enveloping Luciana subtly changed.
‘…He’s awake.’
Despite having caused the situation together, heavy tension filled the air.
What would the man, now aware of her presence, say first? How would he face her? In just a few seconds, countless thoughts branched out.
At the end of the day, they weren’t lovers. The man didn’t necessarily have to be kind to her, but they had shared a night of intimacy after all.
Luciana’s small wish was to avoid an unnecessarily awkward farewell where they both blushed and parted ways.
At least, that’s what she wanted.
“Keugh, damn it!”
But the man greeted her with rough movements, as if to mock Luciana’s feelings.
“Ah!”
Up until a second ago, he was embracing her as if she was his beloved, so why?
Without even exchanging a polite ‘good morning’, he abruptly pushed Luciana away.
With how rough he was, one might think he was swatting off a bug. It was almost laughable how seriously he took the night’s event, acting as if it was the biggest mistake of his life, especially after the woman beside him in this bed had just been entertaining some fond thoughts about him.
Naturally, Luciana was taken aback by his reaction.
Did he think this situation was awkward only for him? Even so, was there a need to throw her away as if cursing her wasn’t enough?
‘Ugh, that hurts. What kind of manners are these?’
Though she couldn’t help but let out a scoff at the absurdity of the situation, Luciana calmly covered herself with the blanket and sat up. Her pink hair was tousled in all directions, as if she was ready for battle.
‘Anyone would think I’ve abducted an innocent person and devoured him.’
The rejection in his touch, far beyond simple surprise, was irritating.
‘Does that make any sense?’
She had led a lonely life without so much as a lover or fiancé until adulthood, but she wasn’t so ignorant as to abduct an innocent man and steal his purity like some barbarian.
Luciana had been drunk last night.
They say alcohol sometimes lends superhuman strength, but even so, how could a delicate noble lady, far from possessing noteworthy muscles, overpower a robust man in his prime?
Moreover, it wasn’t as if he was some soft scholar who had only lived with his nose in books. Just one look at him made it apparent that his body had been honed by years of physical training.
Could such a man not ward off a woman barely half his weight?
‘Just thinking about it a little would typically lead you to the correct conclusion, right?’
She felt she had to clear up at least this misunderstanding.
“Hey, look here.”
Luciana called out to the man with a voice full of discontent.
Let me see that proud face of yours.
As Luciana boldly lifted her head to look at her companion from the night, their eyes met—
And thus, she was faced with cold, red eyes, as menacing as rubies soaked in blood.
“…Huh?”
