The Omega Princess and Her Two Leashes - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Clang!
A sharp sound rang out. It was the sound of Arlenrose’s sword and Carmin’s sword clashing.
Arlenrose, who faced him, gasped.
It was eerie. The green eyes that used to look at her gently were now cold. His expression was also filled with cold contempt.
“You are quite presumptuous, Diabolus.”
His lips, which were always gentle, twisted as he spoke.
“Not only did you sneak into the dungeon of the castle, but you also set fire to it in order to let your comrades escape. You are arrogant and reckless. Do you have multiple lives?”
Arlenrose’s heart, which had been beating fast, ached. It was a sharp pain that was as painful as the one she felt in her arm, which was holding his sword against Carmin’s.
Carmin Modreo was her escort knight and childhood friend, but before that, he was a knight of the kingdom and a typical dominant alpha. That was why Arlenrose had been prepared to face him at any time as long as she was active as Diabolus.
However, the reality she actually faced was more than she had prepared for.
When he found out that the princess he served was actually an omega and Diabolus, would he make this kind of expression and speak like this? No, maybe even more so…
“Everyone has only one life.”
Her voice, which came out with a creepy sound of metal scraping against metal, was devoid of emotion.
It was not the time to be a woman in love with a man or an omega in love with an alpha. Arlenrose gritted her teeth, knocked his sword away, and distanced herself.
“I will stop him, so run away!”
At her cry, the revolutionaries who had been stunned behind her fluttered.
“Lord Diabolus…”
“I have a way to escape.”
“B-but we have to help…”
“No, you don’t. Don’t stay here for nothing and hold me back. Just go now!”
“Ugh…”
The revolutionaries, who had hesitated at the words not to hold him back, made up their minds.
“I understand.”
“Please stay alive and meet us again, Lord Diabolus!”
“Where…”
“No!”
Arlenrose blocked Carmin, who was trying to chase after the fleeing revolutionaries.
Fortunately, it seemed that Carmin’s actions up to this point had been a solo act, as there was no sign of anyone else. If she could buy some time here, it seemed like they could escape safely for a while.
“As expected of a group of revolutionaries, you have neither loyalty nor righteousness.”
Carmin glared at Diabolus in front of him and provoked him, but Arlenrose did not even flinch.
“They trust me.”
That trust was due to her abilities. The belief that her mysterious and superhuman powers could do anything was what made people follow Diabolus and support Demonas.
However, Arlenrose was always unsure of herself. Her own abilities were weak, and she was only able to bring out the most of them by combining and applying them.
“Well, then, shall I take a look if it was true?”
So when Carmin, who had spoken coldly, rushed in and swung his sword, it was inevitable that she would feel dizzy.
With a sharp sound, the swords clashed countless times. Arlenrose moved quickly and desperately deflected the swords that were raining down on her. However, a sword blade that she failed to block dug deep into her neck and swung around, cutting off her hair.
In that deadly moment, her mind flashed. Arlenrose held her breath and gritted her teeth.
He was a sword master known as the strongest in the kingdom. He was not an opponent that she could defeat. If she did not want to be defeated and captured like this, she had to use the power she did not want to reveal.
Crackle!
Sparks flew from the clashing blades. The sparks that had occurred momentarily due to friction grew in size.
“What is this…?”
Despite the strange phenomenon, Carmin had no time to think about it. In an instant, the fist-sized fire burst into a blaze and turned the blade hot.
“Ugh!”
The heat that reached the hilt of the sword was so scorching that Carmin let go of it reflexively. It was only for a moment, but Arlenrose did not miss the opening as his blade faltered. The moment she knocked his sword away and Carmin lost his grip on it, a strong gust of wind blew from somewhere.
Thud! The flying sword buried itself in the stump of a tree. As the startled Carmin tried to run towards it, Arlenrose’s foot lashed out and kicked his leg.
“What the…!”
Carmin staggered, having never imagined such a surprise attack from her. Before he could regain his balance, another gust of wind swept over him. Dust flew up from somewhere, obscuring his vision.
“Ugh!”
The moment did not last long. Soon, Carmin’s vision cleared and his legs found their balance.
However, when he looked around, Diabolus had already disappeared without a trace.
