The Omega Princess and Her Two Leashes - Chapter 100
Chapter 100
***
The Fleurose Kingdom erupted in chaos.
The revolutionary army had appeared in the middle of town, attacked the wealthy Graham’s mansion, and planted their flag. The news stunned everyone.
Demonas had been active before, but never to this extent. They’d mostly kept to themselves, plotting, posting wall writings, and distributing leaflets. The most radical thing their leader, Diabolus, had done was publicly humiliate outspoken Alphas.
It had been largely inconsequential. To most Alphas, Demonas was more of an annoying nuisance than a genuine threat. It was infuriating enough that Omegas had escaped Alpha control and formed their own group, but they were also trying to instill rebellious ideas in other Omegas. That was the extent of their perception.
But this incident was different. They had openly used force, murdered an Alpha, and displayed his body on the wall. They had not only burned and looted an Alpha’s mansion but also raised their flag over it.
The audacity of those Omegas.
That was the first thought that crossed the minds of most Alphas in the kingdom.
Could Omegas wield such power?
To them, Omegas were beings who went weak and whimpering in heat when an Alpha released their pheromones. That such creatures could attack and harm an Alpha without being affected by pheromones was unimaginable.
“This is preposterous! How could Omegas possibly acquire so many of those expensive and rare pheromone suppressants?!”
Derek Giovanni raged at the aristocratic meeting in the royal palace. He had been harboring a grudge against Demonas ever since his father, Dean Giovanni, had been publicly humiliated by Diabolus.
Across from him, Marquess Rene Margaret clicked his tongue.
“Of all people, it had to be Graham, the greedy commoner who monopolized the pheromone suppressant technology. Now even more suppressants will fall into their hands.”
“If only that greedy Graham had shared the pheromone suppressant technology sooner, this wouldn’t have happened.”
“What’s wrong with a merchant monopolizing technology for profit? It’s the revolutionaries who looted it that are at fault. It’s truly infuriating. The audacity of mere Omegas…”
“But it is strange. While pheromone suppressants are expensive and rare, the demand wasn’t that high. How did Graham amass such wealth from them?”
“I’ve wondered the same thing.”
“Indeed. Which Alpha would even take pheromone suppressants…?”
One noble raised the question, followed by a burst of hollow laughter. Murmurs of agreement rippled through the room.
“Certainly not me.”
“Who would take such a dubious thing?”
“Frankly, pheromone suppressants are for pathetic Alphas who have no Omegas to relieve their heat. Isn’t that right?”
Most Alphas avoided pheromone suppressants due to the rumor that they decreased virility.
There were even outlandish tales that they permanently suppressed pheromones, turning Alphas into Betas, or that they diminished libido and killed sp*rm.
They were just rumors and tall tales. If they were true, Arlenrose, who had been taking large doses of suppressants since childhood, would have long since become a Beta.
The Pharmaceutical Department had repeatedly proven the absence of side effects. However, Alphas refused to take them, citing discomfort. Societal perception also played a role, deeming it pathetic to rely on suppressants when lacking an Omega.
Wealthy nobles with plenty of Omegas had no need for suppressants. But even commoners, who lacked such access and suffered through their heats, avoided them. Any Alpha would rather find an Omega in the back alleys than take a suppressant.
“Hmm… but judging by Sir Camin’s case, it seems the lack of side effects is true.”
Someone lowered their voice and whispered.
It was an open secret that Camin Modreo was one of the few Alphas who took pheromone suppressants. No one had actually seen him take them, but no one had seen him with an Omega either, leading to the natural assumption.
Despite the extended period, Camin Modreo remained a dominant Alpha. This suggested that the suppressants were indeed without side effects.
