Summary

I was thinking that it lowers Jurich and David’s perceived value.
Like for one, Radis’ dress sorta shatters the illusion Margaret was trying to create by spending a bunch of money on clothes. Like how big could Jurich’s dowry be if they don’t have enough money to dress both daughters?
For two, if I were a noble at around the Tilrods level I would be curious about Radis’ appearance and possibly look into what they’d been doing lately, which might lead to me finding out about David.
For three, if I had a daughter I was thinking of marrying off to David seeing Radis’ dress would make me (correctly) suspect that Margaret would be a horrible mother in law. Even if I didn’t care about my daughter’s happiness she can’t use her position as David’s wife to benefit me if Margaret’s on her case.
I actually don’t think this changes Radis’ value to old rich merchants at all. Because a rich merchant with the connections needed to be at this party wouldn’t need the paltry bump in social status he’d get from marrying Radis.

1. She found some dude (checks back) Sir Felice Roschilde and asked to join his subjugation squad.
2. She got dragged away by Huber and then downed him with one punch.
3. She dragged Huber to his room and absorbed a bunch of mana stones.
1 might be enough to explain all this but it would also be fairly reasonable for Sir Felice (or even someone else) to be worried about Radis’s safety and arrange for someone to follow her and Huber.

Oh, no. Now I’m thinking she dodged a bullet, here. The author highlighted all details that made me see his tutelage as fairly exploitative and full of loopholes. Radis would survive, but for a start the cherry farm dream would backfire tremendously without a salary.
Then again, I doubt she would sign a contract without at least reading it.

Marquis told Radis earlier that he wants to be a Duke and that Radis is a stepping stone he hired for that, so I guess his plan is to use Radis’ to build a connection with Olivier? Possibly also to back Olivier as the future emperor since Olivier probably doesn’t have duke giving powers right now.
I don’t know, I feel like it would have made more sense to base Radis’ connection to someone who could take her away from the Tilrods on her abilities as a knight/maybe her mana core.
Or at least on something a bit more substantial than one or two microexpressions.

Yeah, especially since there can be a pretty big show vs. tell gap with prince characters.
Like the author tells you a bunch of stuff about how the prince is a genius who would be an amazing king but then shows you a dude who couldn’t lead his way out of a paper bag.

True. I do think that makes it possible to do some really interesting stuff with a fake ML.
Like if you give a character enough ML attributes (prince/duke of the north*, no experience with women ever**) then even if you don’t build up a relationship between him and the MC readers will still be surprised if he isn’t the ML.
Tons of potential to create a cool neutral or antagonistic character.
* You can’t be a Duke ML unless your territory is in the COLD and FROZEN NORTH. Also it should be filled with MONSTERS. Also there should be rumors saying that you are a MONSTER.
** This is the main one. I’ve read novels set in novels where there’s a character who was supposedly the original ML but usually he’s a cheating scumbag or something.

They tend to focus on the destructive qualities of fire. But Hestia was the opposite. Though she represented fire, it was the calm protective fire that provided heat for cooking and warmth, as well as light in the dark night.

Is it just me or the great story of the crown prince with 3 knights fighting miasma sounds like pure bs, a lie that was written to hide the truth. I’d rather believe that crown prince was the traitor who stabbed those 2 heroic knights using them as a meat shield and the spear hero didn’t want to be next, that’s why he escaped and since he knew the truth he was branded as a traitor. What’s more imperial family keeps anyone from entering the center of the monsterwood bcs there might be some clues about the true events from the past and they don’t want anyone to know that.
Looking from that perspective, I’d like to know more about the magic/mana core smuggling organisation but they seem to be some sort of a mad sect, that’s why I have mixed feelings about it.

I've been since the beginning. He's savvy, but not once took advantage of Radis, instead created a plan that would benefit her as well and make her happy – not noble, but not explotative (and Radis wasn't innocent on their deal). Also, he wants to retrieve the title of duke because, for what I understood, his father lost it because of him, Yves, and the secret of the shield.
All Yves wants is to protect – himself, his region, his subordinates, his friends. Protection and prosperity are his ultimate goals, but now he realized it comes with a painful price.
And I LOVE when a possible ML is also the comic relief!

I think this is the first time I could honestly say the MC is going to end up with the second ML. It's almost always the stoic, serous, and most powerful figure. The third prince fits most of the typical ML requirements and the goofy personality of Yves is not usual an ML. How fun and unique.
Though I will say that I am not enthralled by the romance. I always wanted a second ML to get the girl, but I just don't feel that spark….. I know what it is! Yves isn't a typical second ML either! He is more like a third ML. The captain that was reborn fits a second ML better. Honestly I like him better also, but you knew he had no hope with how little interaction there is with him and our MC.

I see a lot of people unhappy that there is too much tragedy and trauma. Welp, good news for you, because it is only the first few chapters introducing Radis’ backstory. After that, it becomes sappy. I don’t do sappy. I was hoping after the tragic past in first few chapters, there would be a montage of gaining strength with fighting, magic, utilizing the knowledge of the future to make good investments, etc… sadly for me, it becomes a reverse harem where Radis contends with three male leads vying for her affection while she stutters over her own words because she can’t handle the attention. I’m trying to get through this story, I really like the basis for this… a chance to retake your past in a magical world, where a female lead renowned for her strength and genius as a magic swordsman in her past life, utilizes all those strengths to surpass her limits in this life. There is still some action, and slow accumulation of strength, killing some monsters here and there… but it is mostly eating good food, stuttering at handsome male leads, maids hoping Radis was a man so they could court her, and a super kudere marquis with super abs and golden eyes. Also a pitiful sister, a negligent father, a koont of a mother, lazy brother, some other men who want Radis, some magic elements. But I really really want some magic swordsman only arcs!!! Ughhh. Translation is absolutely amazing btw, but I am losing interest in the story.
