The Eldest Daughter Walks Down The Flower Path - Chapter 228
Chapter 228

—
The black flame screamed.
The temptation disappeared helplessly from her hand.
But the currents did not stop.
She faintly realized that staying here any longer might turn her into something else entirely.
‘I need to get out of here… But how…?’
Then, the locket of the necklace clicked open, and golden particles began to flow out.
The golden particles melted into the milky white liquid inside the barrier, transforming the surroundings into a starry sky.
Within it, a figure shrouded in radiance appeared.
—Hestia.
Blinded by the light, Radis couldn’t properly see him.
‘Who…?’
—I am Luu, son of Providence and the throne of Light.
He raised his hand, and the current inside the barrier stopped as if it were a lie.
Barely regaining her consciousness, Radis asked,
‘Why do you all keep calling me Hestia? Hestia, Kronos, the throne… Who and what are those?’
She could see a man with cloud-like white hair and golden-brown skin beyond the brilliant golden light.
He answered.
—That is the name of your soul and the name of the counterweight that balances the three worlds. It’s also the power of purification gifted by Providence to humans in a world without gods.
Listening silently, Radis frankly admitted,
‘I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you’re saying…’
With a fragrant sigh, Ruu reached out and touched her forehead.
—You must have met Alexis. She was the previous Hestia, a hero who saved the world from being consumed by monsters. Although she now suffers…
Radis recalled the woman entwined in black thorns, bleeding.
‘Ah…!’
Ruu continued,
—What Providence desires is for the three divided worlds to maintain balance. The Throne exist to uphold that. The Messenger should have already informed you of how a world thrown off balance will be destroyed.
She realized Ruu was referring to the future that Robert had conveyed to her.
Monsters started devastating the imperial capital, devastating the capital, then the dragon, having become the master of Monsterwood, led the monsters to trample over the south.
It was a future filled with despair.
Radis closed her eyes and thought of what she had to protect.
She opened her mouth to speak.
‘What should I do?’
Luu raised what he had been holding in his hands.
Before long, a black-gleaming Regia was held in his hands.
—Keep this in mind: a delusion has latched onto your mind to captivate you. Alexis, too, is fighting against it.
‘……!’
—And you are the only one who can save her.
Locking eyes with Luu, Radis slowly extended her hand.

The golden whirlwind inside the magical artifact disappeared, and the rampant waves subsided.
The next moment, something pitch-black protruded from the barrier and slit it open.
“Argh…!”
People thought it would explode and screamed as they backed away.
But the barrier disappeared without a sound.
That was all.
The liquids inside the barrier in contact with the air vanished like steam.
From within, Radis slowly walked down.
There was no wind, yet her red hair fluttered like clouds.
Flames like mana that could not be completely gathered inside her body were visibly billowing to the naked eye.
“My artifact…!”
The emperor’s mouth opened in astonishment.
However, the emperor quickly concealed his surprise.
What was lost was lost, and now it was time to impose the Geas on her.
The emperor clapped his thick palms and exclaimed.
“Indeed, impressive, Dame Tilrod! No one has ever walked out from within it in one piece before!”
Radis looked up at Womb.
Now, she could naturally understand the runes engraved around the edge of Womb.
They formed a spell that Luu’s subordinates had used hundreds of years ago to create golem-like warriors.
Emperor Claude had imposed a Geas on his knights with this magical artifact.
Realizing the content of the spell, Radis could not help but be surprised.
‘An artifact for creating mindless warriors had been used to impose a Geas on his own knights?’
She glared at the emperor with eyes full of disillusionment.
Then, the emperor shouted in a booming voice.
“Dame Tilrod, come kneel before me and receive the Geas!”
She moved in the direction where the emperor stood.
The emperor continued to shout.
“I will entrust you with a holy mission. The first is to be loyal to the Empire. And the second is to protect me, Claude Arpend, Emperor of this Empire!”
Radis advanced towards the emperor. And she continued to walk past him.
The emperor’s eyes widened as he glared at her back.
A flustered servant hurriedly ran out to block her.
“Obey the command of His Majesty the Emperor!”
But, with a curt tone, Radis said,
“Get out of my way.”
t/n: I think I might have misgendered Alexis at the start (gendered pronouns aren’t commonly used in the Korean language). I’ll go back to those chapters and correct them when I get the time, but from now on, Alexis will be properly addressed with she/her pronouns.
