The Eldest Daughter Walks Down The Flower Path - Chapter 182
“You, who have honed your swordsmanship, shall make a pledge to accept the duties that thus follow one’s official appointment as a knight. First and foremost, as a knight who had been ordained, one must not spare any effort to cultivate and hone oneself…”
A vow of martial arts and courage, of loyalty to the empire and of faith in God, and of honor to protect the weak.
After all of the vows had been proclaimed, Yves brought his sword to Radis’s shoulders and spoke.
“Radis Tilrod, daughter of the Tilrod family, I hereby dub thee a true knight of the Order of the Black Lion.”
Radis rose from her position.
She had been appointed as a knight for the purpose of creating a mercenary group, but at this moment, she couldn’t deny that this felt so good.
No, not just that. She was extremely happy.
Radis turned a little red as she mentally called herself by her new title.
She grinned widely.
Seeing her bright expression, Yves nearly shook his head roughly in the middle of the sacred ceremony.
This was because, when he saw the wide smile on her lips, it felt as if the hallucination he saw earlier was resurfacing again.
‘Let’s just get this over with.’
Haphazardly smacking Robert on his shoulders with the sword, Yves continued.
“Robert, I hereby dub thee a true knight of the Order of the Black Lion.”
As he had been hit on the shoulders with more force than he had expected, Robert stood up from his kneeling position while glaring at Yves, displeasure clear on his features.
But regardless of his reaction, Yves hurried down the platform and held Radis’s hand tightly.
“Thank you, Marquis.”
With a blush blooming upon her face, Yves felt his heart skipping a beat, just as it had in his dream.
Utterly dazed, Yves said.
“Radis, make me happ…”
Off to the side, Robert watched this scene with undeniable irritation. He promptly took off Yves’s hand on Radis’s and instead gripped it tightly with his own.
“Thank you, Marquis.”
Feeling the tight hold of Robert’s big hand, which was like a bear’s front paw, Yves face crumpled in an instant.
Robert continued shaking his hand regardless.
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude towards you, Marquis, for acknowledging my skill with fair eyes, even though the relationship between our two households is not so harmonious.”
“In particular, I thank you for the consideration you’ve shown me during my times of struggle. I will never forget it.”
“Yes, yes, okay, you! Now will you let go of this?”
“Please call me Robert.”
A fierce war of nerves broke out between Yves, who was busy trying to pull his hand out, and Robert, who was persistent about not letting go.
But in Radis’s eyes, it only seemed like these two men were holding their hands so tightly as their friendship was getting stronger.
With a bright smile, Radis said.
“It’s so nice to see you both like this.”
Hearing her say that, Robert squeezed Yves’s hand tightly and spoke with an expressionless face.
“Your Excellency, I look forward to working with you from now on.”
Yves also grabbed Robert’s hand with a grip so tight that you’d think he wanted to pop the man’s hand. There was a forced smile on his lips.
“Hahaha, what do you mean? Aren’t you about to be awarded a master’s seal? I’m suuure that there’s quite a lot of people clamoring to hire you! Spread your wings and fly away!”
“Your Excellency, please banish the thought. How could I ever forget the grace you have given me? I shall carve it to my bones.”
“Not at all, anyone would have done the same as I. Please feel free to forget about it at the soonest possible time.”
“I will never forget.”
“Just forget it!”
At the sight of them like this, even as they were sincerely growling at each other by now, Radis smiled with such pride in her eyes.

After the aboudement ceremony, Radis moved to the banquet hall with Yves and the knights of the marquisate.
She was talking with Robert as they were walking, but she soon took notice of the faces peeping from behind the pillars.
They were the maids of the mansion.
Radis smiled and waved cheerfully at them.
“Uwaaaah, Lady Radis…!”
Berry wailed as she clasped her hands together.
“This is so sudden, but… I-I don’t think I’ll regret anything if I die now…”
Beside her, Melody was gawking blatantly, almost in a trance. She took in the sight of Radis in her uniform.
“Lady Radis, you’re so cool! Lord Robert, too…”
Elise didn’t say anything.
She was fiddling with the small corsage in her hand, looking like she was on the brink of shedding tears.
It was the checkered corsage that Radis once made for her.
“Elise, isn’t Lady Radis so cool? And I heard Wade say this, but Lady Radis is actually a mage knight!”
“So cool, right? I heard that even in the whole entire empire, there’s only one female mage knight. I heard that Lord Robert’s going to receive a master’s seal, but won’t Lady Radis also receive a mage knight’s seal?”
Then, Berry asked Tanya.
“Hey, Tanya, you’re still dating Wade? When are you two ever getting married?”
Tanya’s complexion changed.
“Marriage, my butt! We’re dating! Just dating!”
“Why are you being so defensive? Isn’t strong denial the same as…?”
“Ugh! Why would I marry such a child! I-If it was a cool person like Lady Radis…!”
The girls started chattering excitedly at the mention of marriage.
However, only Elise continued to look at Radis’s back with her gaze getting more and more cloudy.
