My Past Life is Riddled With Many Sins - Chapter 57
He had mastered the art of being as inconspicuous as possible, especially because Yekarna often fell into deep contemplation and hated being disturbed. To avoid being sent away and stay close even a little longer, he had to be as unobtrusive as possible and not annoy Yekarna.
Yekarna was an incredibly self-centered woman—arrogant and hedonistic. Yet, despite that, she was dazzlingly brilliant, so much so that even knowing that getting too close to her could burn him like a moth to a flame, he couldn’t help but be drawn to her.
At one time, he believed that her noble status, being the Empress, was what made her shine so brightly.
“Want another one?”
“Um… yes.”
Regina hesitated for a moment but nodded. The chocolate was too delicious to refuse.
“Shall we share it nicely again?”
It was unclear when the precaution of tasting it first to ensure it wasn’t tampered with became known as ‘sharing it nicely,’ but Regina was too lazy to correct it and simply went along with it.
Bliss split the chocolate into two pieces, giving Regina the larger piece as if it was the most natural thing in the world and took the smaller one for himself.
“Why aren’t you eating much?”
“I don’t really like chocolate.”
Regina tilted her head at Bliss’s response. If he didn’t like it, why did he have it in the first place?
‘Maybe he received it from someone and it was too awkward to refuse.’
Regardless, she was glad it kept her from feeling peckish. She slowly melted the chocolate in her mouth, savoring it as Bliss watched her with a gentle gaze.
“Feeling better now?”
“Yes.”
Sweet flavors certainly had a way of uplifting one’s mood.
“That’s good to hear. I was worried I might have to use my secret weapon.”
“Secret weapon? What’s that?”
“I could always make you happy with my body…”
“Uwacck!”
Regina screamed and clapped her hand over his mouth. She had momentarily forgotten about his disastrous mouth!
In their past lives, whenever it was just the two of them, Skyler would effortlessly spout obscene jokes.
Back then, since their relationship was already quite informal, she hadn’t minded much. But now, circumstances have changed.
What was he thinking, saying such things to a student as the Dean?
“No bad words allowed!”
Bliss, looking at Regina’s threatening glare, subtly licked her palm that was pressed over his mouth.
“Uh? What…?”
Naturally, Regina released her hand and jumped back in shock. She tried to, but Bliss was quicker.
He grabbed Regina’s hand and pressed it down to immobilize her while he teasingly licked her palm again with the tip of his tongue.
The ticklish and somewhat provocative sensation made Regina shiver. A familiar feeling was creeping up her spine, making her involuntarily twitch.
Despite using all her strength to pull her hand away, Bliss’s grip didn’t budge. The difference in their strength was apparent. She could overcome this with mana, but…
‘That would be like announcing I’m Yekarna with a sign on my forehead.’
Using mana so freely at her twenty-year-old age. If Regina meets someone like that, it would make her question if this was their second life. It was a near-impossible feat under normal circumstances.
Caught between choices, being unable to do this and that, Bliss kissed her palm softly before releasing it. The sound of his lips parting was unusually explicit.
Regina quickly withdrew her hand and glared at him. As she wiped her palm on her sleeve, he laughed out loud.
“Does Young Regina know what your face looks like right now?”
“What?”
“It’s bright red.”
That couldn’t be true.
Skeptical, Regina touched her own cheek. But the warmth might have been spurred by his words.
“Have you really become a child?”
He narrowed his eyes mischievously before relaxing into a languid expression. It was the characteristic ease and laziness of Skyler.
“I guess I have a lot to teach you in the future.”
Who says you get to decide that? Sorry, but I plan to escape from the academy before that. Well, not sorry. It’s disgraceful of him to harass someone barely out of their teens.
Regina scoffed audibly enough for Bliss to hear and bowed slightly.
“I’ll be taking my leave now, Dean.”
Since he gave her chocolates, she’ll let this one slide.
As she greeted and turned to leave, his laughter followed her from behind.
Regina walked sullenly and thought. Skyler, unlike in their past life, seemed to laugh more trivially now. Yet, she found it not unpleasant.
After all, seeing him laugh was far better than witnessing anger or suffering.

Having tasked the information guild with investigating the demon realm, Regina found herself with some spare time. She decided to focus more on physical training.
Excluding times for classes, meals, and sleep, she spent all day in the training grounds. This led to various speculations and rumors circulating about Regina.
“Did you hear? The peddler is fighting in the back alley fighting rings.”
“No way, I heard she decided to become an assassin to avenge her parents.”
“What are you even talking about? She’s training hard to get back at Derek for that spat during swordplay class.”
Derek was the male student who had taunted Regina during a swordsmanship lesson. Hearing the rumors, Derek had been avoiding making eye contact with Regina and stayed as far away as possible during classes.
Regardless of the gossip, Regina continued her intense training regimen. With the payment to the information guild due soon, she was preparing to do whatever they demanded. She had hoped to become a high-performance swordmaster slave to quickly pay off her debt.
“Hey, junior? If you’re free today, why not come check out our ‘Muscle Morning’ club? You don’t have to join, so no pressure.”
The muscular senior who had been providing her with ‘milk mixed with egg white powder’ for several days timidly offered the invitation.
After thinking about it for a moment, Regina nodded. While she wasn’t particularly interested in the club, it seemed unfair to reject the invitation after accepting the drinks he had offered.
