Marriage with a Suspiciously Demure Husband - Chapter 103.2
Chapter 103.2
“Don’t sell them everything, just about half. I don’t really know much about this side of things…”
“Then what were all those things you just told me?”
I chuckled softly at Annie’s words. “I’ll leave the distribution ratio to you, Annie. Um, anyway, you might have something fun to do after this.”
“Oh, really? I’m looking forward to it.”
“Once the temple starts supplying purification stones only to the Imperial Family, we can sell ours to individuals at a higher price.”
“Okay. I’m making inquiries now, so I might be able to reach 5,000. I’ll let you know if I do.”
“Sounds good. If I get any other useful information, I’ll tell you through Hizan. Or I’ll use the communication device.”
“Okay. So, you’re not going to tell me where you heard this news from?” Annie’s question made me flinch.
“I just… overheard it when I was in the Knights.”
“Eh, not buying it.”
“Oh, right. Um… about the purification stones… could you set aside about five hundred for me? I think I might need them later.”
I’d already been diligently stockpiling them at the Duke’s castle, so with this additional amount, I’d have enough to hold out even if the situation worsened. Annie burst out laughing.
“What are you talking about? They’re all yours anyway! Of course! I’ll set aside plenty, just in case. Oh, by the way, you don’t know anyone in the North, do you? Aren’t you lonely?”
Loneliness? Suddenly? The topic changed abruptly.
“Well, I never really had many friends…”
“But you had some connections, right?”
“Right… Hmm, I’m not particularly lonely.”
“Okay. I’m too scared to visit myself, so I hope something nice happens for you. Don’t get your hopes up, though. I don’t think anything nice is going to happen…”
What couldn’t one say for the sake of pleasantries? I told her I understood and ended the communication with Annie.
“Four thousand five hundred…”
Even though I knew better because I was aware of the risks, I couldn’t stop the corners of my mouth from lifting.
I’d need to find a place to store five hundred stones. They were only about the size of half a palm, but five hundred of them wouldn’t fit in a single box. If possible, it would be best to store them safely inside the Duke’s castle.
There was no reason to hide them, so I could ask someone to manage them.
I told Hizan to ask Mrs. Tene if she could find some storage space and a suitable box. Afterward, I decided to contact the guild representatives I had met at the guild leader meeting to get a more detailed grasp of the current situation.

Three days passed. Fortunately, the weather had been good all day yesterday, and much of the snow had melted.
“See? I told you.”
I was elated. We’d almost had a huge fight that morning because Kairos tried to change his mind, but we’d gone on the subjugation anyway.
Because I was bundled up like a snowman, my movements were slower than usual, but since I could freely use my magic from behind Kairos, Sid was pleased, saying we had subjugated more monsters than usual.
We even returned while the sun was still up.
“This is why I said it wouldn’t work.”
“Why not?”
“…The knights are all looking to you.”
I knew what he meant. Initially hesitant around the Duchess, the knights gradually adjusted as they worked together, eliminating monsters bound by my magic.
Now, they were starting to anticipate my abilities.
“That can’t be helped, given the nature of my power.”
Kairos’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. He gave a faint, exasperated smile.
“…You can do what you want, just don’t overdo it.”
“That’s what I promised, so I’ll keep it.”
Kairos stared at me intently. I raised an eyebrow, asking him what was wrong as if he had something to say.
“Nothing. You worked really hard today. It’s practically all thanks to you.”
“I like that compliment.”
Kairos placed a quick kiss on my forehead and insisted on escorting me to the bathroom so I could warm up.
After warming up in a hot bath and returning to the bedroom, Hizan knocked and entered.
“Madam, I’ve made the arrangements you requested after speaking with the headmaid. There’s a large unused space in the basement that we can clear out and use as storage.”
“Thank you, you’ve worked hard.”
“It was nothing. Oh, but there’s another door on the wall of the storage room. It seems unused now, so if you want more secure storage, you can put them in there.”
“Really? Inside? A double space? The purification stones won’t arrive for a few days, so I’ll go and see tomorrow.”
“Yes, Madam.”
“I plan to rest until dinner. I won’t call for you until then, so you can rest as well.”
“Understood, Madam.”
“Ooh, I’m stiff.”
Satisfied with his thoroughness, I dove onto the bed as soon as Hizan left.
