It's Not Night - Chapter 191.1
Andra just wanted to disappear. She wished she could vanish and go somewhere where neither Dustin nor her family could find her and sob uncontrollably. It was too miserable. Not only had she been questioned about her love for the one she cherished, but she was also being forced to break up with him.
‘Is this all our love amounts to?’
Andra began to struggle with accepting reality. Though there was a great wall of family expectations, she believed that once she met Dustin, only happiness lay ahead. She thought the only thing left was to love each other wholly, with no one to interfere.
But the ones hindering their love were themselves.
‘I didn’t wish for this…’
Andra shook her head. This reality was too harsh for her. She still loved Dustin deeply.
She had rushed out of the villa in bravado, yet she already missed him. She wanted to kiss him again, to whisper ‘I love you’ repeatedly, just to keep him close to her.
In the end, Andra could do nothing but cry in that spot.
“Please come back, Dustin… Please, hold on to me…”
It was then that she heard the sound of hooves and an urgent shout from behind her.
“Andra!”
It was the voice she had desperately wanted to hear. Suddenly, she saw a large boot step in front of her as a man knelt down before her.
Andra lifted her head to see a drenched Dustin staring at her. His jade-green eyes were blurred from the rain. Finally, the man who had broken down in tears trembled as he pleaded with her.
“I… I was wrong.”
Dustin not only knelt but also laid himself at her feet, begging. Although he had been the one to suggest the breakup, he was now trembling with fear of being abandoned.
“I… I messed up. I’m sorry, really… I’m sorry. You were right, Andra. I can’t let you go. I want you too much… No, I want to crave you. I know I don’t deserve this, but I want you by my side. Please don’t leave me…”
“…”
“I thought…I had to let you go. I was making you unhappy with my selfishness. I’ve known from the start that you’re someone beyond my reach… But… I can’t give up. I know that if you’re by my side, you’ll be unhappy, yet I need you. I love you, Andra… Please save me. Without you, I might just die…”
For a brief moment, it became clear to him. Dustin could no longer live without Andra. He felt that he wanted to live only because she was there. His life without Andra felt almost worthless. Even this new life had been for the sake of meeting her again. He didn’t want to let her go now.
“I can’t even imagine another man by your side. I want to kill them all. I know I’m crazy for thinking this. Damn it, it’s so foolish… but I can’t help it. I need you, Andra… I want you to love me.”
He struggled to hide the twisted feelings he had towards Andra, but he realized that it was all in vain now.
Dustin cried like a child who had lost something precious. Despite his large frame, he clung to the smaller woman and begged her to love him.
“I know, I’m selfish. I’m a piece of trash… But please, love me… I want your love, even if it’s temporary. I want to be greedy right now. I’ll bear it all. If you tell me to go away later, I will. If you tell me to die, I will! So… just stay by my side. Please…”
Andra reached out to Dustin, lifting his head. His face, wet with tears, may have looked pitiful, but he was still the Dustin she loved. As she brushed his black hair away from his face, she spoke slowly.
“Dustin.”
“Yes…”
“You said you didn’t know why I loved you?”
Andra finally cupped his face in her hands and kissed him. She gently pressed her lips against his, savoring the moment before pulling away. With a tearful smile, she looked at Dustin.
“This is my answer.”
“…”
“There’s no other reason. I love you simply because you are you.”
Before the words even left her lips, they plunged into each other’s mouths once more, overwhelmed by the pouring rain.
