It's Not Night - Chapter 189.1
Before Andra could finish her sentence, Dustin firmly grasped the back of her head and pressed his lips against hers. Andra clutched his shirt collar to steady herself as she eagerly entwined her tongue with his.
With a wet sound, the room quickly became warm.
“Ha…”
As their long kiss ended, Andra gasped for breath. She took a deep inhale, focusing on Dustin’s glistening lips and the solid chest visible through his open shirt. The rhythmic pounding of his heart seemed to echo in the air.
Gradually, Andra propped herself up on her knees, placing her hands on Dustin’s broad shoulders. As she caressed the nape of his neck along the contours of his shoulder, she could see his Adam’s apple bobbing.
Andra cupped his slightly swollen cheek and looked down at him. His jewel-like green eyes peeked through his dark hair.
Feeling a sudden rush of nerves, Andra swallowed hard and slowly spoke up.
“We…”
“Not a chance.”
Before she could finish her thought, Dustin shook his head, firmly cutting her off. Andra stared down at him in surprise, looking confused.
‘Not a chance? Why not?’
As she instantly felt a wave of disappointment, Andra quickly glanced at the front of Dustin’s pants.
Contrary to his words, his pants were noticeably bulging.
Andra wedged her knee between his legs, rubbing against him as she narrowed her eyes. A sulky tone slipped from her lips.
“So what’s this?”
“Huht, this is… But still, no. Andra, let’s not do this.”
Dustin barely managed to stop Andra from reaching for his buckle, speaking to her as if trying to soothe her.
However, Andra couldn’t understand his perspective at all. This approach seemed like the most efficient solution given their situation. Yet, as Dustin continued to refuse, she felt increasingly hurt.
“Why? Why can’t we?”
“…Because.”
“Don’t you want to be with me?”
“…I do want to be with you.”
“Then this is the way to go.”
“No, Andra, this isn’t right. You can’t get pregnant this way. If you have a child without proper consent, both you and the child will suffer.”
Andra was left speechless by Dustin’s response. She hadn’t expected him to refuse at all.
In their previous life, how much he had looked forward to having children! It had happened more than once that, right in the middle of their s*x, he would bring up the topic of pregnancy.
Andra had assumed that when she mentioned wanting a child, he would agree. She believed without a doubt that Dustin, just like her, was eager to have kids.
But now, he was opposed to it.
“What’s the alternative? We might end up breaking up, and without doing this, we can’t have a child. Or do you just not want a child?”
“That’s not it. I just want to say that this choice isn’t right for us. I want to have a child when everyone can celebrate it. Not in this situation.”
As he spoke, Dustin adjusted Andra’s disheveled clothes. His calm tone caused her to quietly close her mouth.
Soon, Dustin stood up from his seat. Reflexively, Andra grabbed his shirt.
“I want you to have the happiness that everyone else enjoys. If we have a child this way, your reputation will drop without any chance of recovery. I don’t want that. It’s fine if my reputation is ruined, but I don’t want you to go through that.”
Dustin left a short kiss on Andra’s forehead and gently removed her hand from his.
“I’m sorry. Go rest.”
Watching him disappear beyond the door, Andra felt powerless to stop him. It felt strange. This was the first time he had rejected her like this.
* * *
Since that day, Dustin began to deliberately avoid sleeping with Andra. As a result, she was left feeling anxious.
While she didn’t completely misunderstand his reasons, it was undeniable that her heart was racing as time passed. If this continued, they might really end up forcing themselves to part ways.
In desperation, Andra asked Baron Haydon for help, openly laughing and chatting with him to gauge Dustin’s reaction. However, this didn’t yield much of a result either. Instead, Dustin would go out of his way to give Andra space to enjoy her time with Hisen.
Honestly, Andra couldn’t fathom what Dustin was thinking.
‘What’s going on? Really?’
