It's Not Night - Chapter 126
‘Even if I continue killing them, there’s just no end to this…’
In one swift movement, Dustin pulled out his sword that was stuck in the ant’s hard shell. Around him, the corpses of the ant monsters he had cut down were piled up. He had killed this many, so more of them shouldn’t be showing up for a while. Dustin put his sword into the scabbard and took another step.
In fact, he had been lost for a while. The ant hill was quite complex.
‘Where am I supposed to go?’
After a short walk, he found himself back in a familiar section, but Dustin unknowingly frowned. This wasn’t a leisurely situation to be wandering like this. He was more frustrated than ever because he time was ticking and he still couldn’t find the right way.
At the same time, he was nervous. Worry was eating away at his mind, thinking about what might have happened to Andra. This place was infested with ants like this, so would she be able to hold up well?
After a while… the ground rumbled and began to shake. It felt like there was pressure on the ground from the outside. What’s going on outside? Dustin drew his sword again and looked up at the ceiling. Then he started running forward.
As expected, there was no time to hesitate. He had to rush out to rescue Andra.
‘Wait, it’s not just one?’
Dustin, who recklessly ran forward, narrowed his brows feeling the shaking that resonated not just from the outside but also inside. Something big was moving on either side.
Dustin knew intuitively that something bad was going on. Damn it, damn it! Andra! Dustin gritted his teeth and focused on the pattern on his wrist. If he was near Andra, the pattern on his wrist would have reacted a little
Dustin kept running. Running without even realizing that he was out of breath, he stopped running when he saw a very large cave in front of him and looked inside it. Soon, his expression descended into trouble.
The queen ant, who seemed to be the master of this anthill dungeon, was leading the worker ants. Was this the cause of the rumbling from inside?
‘More than that…’
Dustin suddenly looked down at his wrist. The pattern was reacting a little bit. This meant that Andra was nearby. Where? Dustin looked around, but it was hard to find a single person among the ants crowding next to the queen.
‘I have to go down.’
Dustin did not hesitate. As soon as he made up his mind, he gladly began to head downstairs to the ants. His single-minded intent was to save Andra.
As he descended toward the large cave, the light on the pattern on his wrist grew stronger. This meant that the distance between him and Andra had narrowed. Was she down here too? But for what reason? He somehow had to find her quickly.
Dustin looked for Andra while frantically slicing through the ants that came running after him. But Andra’s bright, wavy blonde hair was nowhere to be seen.
Could it be that she was caught by ants and was being transported away? As Dustin broke the ants’ limbs and slashed through their bodies with the blade of his sword, he expressed his worries about Andra.
At that moment. Crumble, bang! The upper part of the cave was destroyed and collapsed with a roar. Everything instantly became chaotic. Kieeekk! The queen ant let out a high-pitched cry, and the workers quickly surrounded her.
Dustin tried to clear things up, avoiding the dirt and rocks that fell on top of him. Before long, sharp claws were revealed through the collapsed tunnel.
Bang! The claw swung at the exact location of the queen ant. However, since a large number of worker ants were protecting the queen, the attack did not work. Rather, the worker ants started climbing upwards clinging to the claws that attacked their queen.
The claw just wiggled to get the ants off, but the ants clung to it and climbed up. It was the beginning of the fight between the claw and the worker ants
‘But it’s familiar…’
Dustin was tracing his memory as he stared keenly at the claw that appeared out of nowhere. He felt a presence behind his back.
Turning his back immediately, Dustin unexpectedly saw Andra, who was running towards him. As she didn’t expect to meet Dustin here, she looked very surprised.
“Andra!”
“Dustin?”
Dustin hastily sheathed his sword and ran towards Andra. Then he looked around at Andra, who was looking up at him in a slight daze.
Fortunately, Andra was unharmed and, as Jonathan had said, her complexion was not bad for someone who had been lying unconscious for two days. On the contrary, she looked healthy because of her fast breathing and her face flushed from running.
It was only then that Dustin felt the core of his heart finally relieved, and without realizing it, he shouted at her in a low voice.
“Is it because you want to see me go crazy?!”
“What, what’s wrong with you?”
Andra asked in surprise at Dustin, who suddenly got angry. What’s wrong? Dustin was at a loss for words. Who was the one who left him alone and went to the prince without saying anything?
“Are you asking because you really don’t know? Don’t you remember how you left? How could you go away without telling me?”
“…It was an emergency. You didn’t let me go, I couldn’t help it.”
“You couldn’t help it.”
“Then should I have let the prince die? And are you coming all the way here to argue with me? That’s not important right now.”
Dustin felt that one side of his heart grew cold because of Andra who kept turning his words around and dismissing it as if it was nothing.
In the meantime, how has he been feeling… Andra acted as if she had never thought of him, who would have been worried about her. If she ever thought of him… she wouldn’t act like this.
“Did you even think of me?”
“What?”
“To you I’m… worse than the prince.”
“Wait, Dustin! What makes you say that?”
“Isn’t that right? You can be honest. Andra, you hate me anyway. I’m sure you’re bothered by me.”
Dustin didn’t know what he was saying and kept opening his mouth. If he didn’t say this, he felt like he would hate her for the first time since he decided to accept his feelings for Andra.
He knows with one side of his head that he shouldn’t be like this, that this isn’t the time to be like this, but strangely, it’s hard to hide his disappointment for Andra.
“I know that… you still don’t like me, but don’t you think it’s too much for you to act this way? Andra, what am I to you? Did you have to abandon me like that?”
In an instant, a palm flew. Slap! It has been a long time since he was hit by Andra. Furthermore, at the moment Dustin was slapped on the cheek, he couldn’t believe what had happened to him. He blinked in a daze.
Thin, white fingers suddenly reached out to him and turned his head that had been turned due to the slap.
“Now you look a bit more sensible. Don’t start acting weird on me, Airak. When did you become such a coward while I was away?”
Andra cupped Dustin’s cheeks with her palms and held him tight as he stared at her. It was only then that Dustin was able to clearly face Andra’s brilliant blue eyes. The face he had longed to see.
How worried he was, and how nervous he was. Wondering what had happened to her, whether she was harmed, if something was wrong… He had never not thought of Andra until he stepped here.
What had he done? The tower that had been built with so much effort was almost toppled in an instant.
Dustin calmed his agitated head and placed his sword-free hand on top of Andra’s hand that cupped his cheek. It felt warm and soft to the touch. When her hand, which was smaller than his, slipped inside, his shoulders softened and he said.
“…Sorry.”
“No, I’m the one who’s sorry.”
Almost as soon as Dustin stopped talking, Andra looked right at him and replied. That was an apology. Dustin looked puzzled when Andra apologized to him.
“…Andra?”
Andra grabbed Dustin’s cheek wanting him to listen. Then, as if she was imprinting Dustin’s face on her head, she looked all over him.
Dustin was unfamiliar with Andra’s gaze, and he didn’t know what to do. He had never seen Andra act like this. Suddenly, Andra took a deep breath, and spoke with a quiet tone.
“You’re right. I shouldn’t have left you like that, I should have convinced you. I’m sorry, but my heart was in a hurry to save His Highness. I never thought that I was… abandoning you.”
“Truly?”
“Yes, it’s the truth. I can promise you. And…”
“And…?”
“…I don’t hate you. I can’t hate you.”
At her last words, Dustin frowned for a moment. She’s not able to, what does that mean… Belatedly, Andra shook her head in surprise. That’s, that’s not what I meant…
“You’re not worse than the prince…”
Suddenly, Andra’s face turned red. Upon seeing that, Dustin realized she wasn’t lying.
The two of them were both speechless. They just looked at each other.
Andra was about to let go of Dustin’s cheek in awkwardness. Dustin tugged Andra into his arms and pressed their lips together hastily.
“Ah, mmph…”
The kiss was sudden, but Andra quickly opened her mouth to Dustin, then reached out and wrapped her arms around Dustin’s neck. His large, rugged hands hold Andra’s head firmly against the back of her head. To make it easier for him to be deeper inside.
As expected, his tongue, which had burrowed into her mouth, ensnared her tongue and sucked in every breath she had left. Andra gasped in breathlessness, but instead of pushing Dustin away, she pulled him further.
The tangled tongues mixed with saliva. Dustin didn’t let go of her lips like a rutting beast, constantly trying to take all her saliva and breath. As if he was going to eat every bit of it.
The ravenous kiss continued to devour her. Even though it was burdensome, Andra accepted Dustin without a single resistance. She was used to his desire for her.
Andra was almost out of breath when Dustin cautiously let go off her lips. Her red lips glistening with saliva, like ripe fruit, still made his mouth water. But he would have to stop here. He wiped the saliva from Andra’s lips with his thumb, loosening his tight embrace to keep her from feeling stuffy.
Andra felt a little ashamed of herself after sharing a deep kiss with him and rolled her eyes without making proper eye contact with him.
