I'm Looking for the Male Lead for the Ending - Chapter 14
Chapter 8.1
‘What, what is this…’
Penalty for rejecting the route!
Allen Basilic’s favorability decreases by 3%.

The bar displaying his favorability rating before my eyes suddenly dropped.
I panicked and thought over the words I had just said to him.
…Did I reject him badly enough, to the extent that it offended him? Ah, no. Don’t think about it. I should just avoid this situation altogether—
“I, I supposed it would be more embarrassing to accept favors from a stutterer.”
“Wait, wait a moment, Your Highness. What on earth is that…”

‘This crazy guy is full of entitlement!’
I gaped as I saw his favorability rating drop to 3% in an instant. Of, of course, I was the one who said I was going to focus and make choices, so I accepted that his favorability rating would drop a bit because of it! Nonetheless, I never thought it would drop all the way to 3%…!
“W, women, they’re all like that. They, they may drool over my wealth when I show them a favor but still keep their distance because they’re afraid they might get involved with me.”
“Your Highness, I think you have misunderstood what, what I said!”
“A, a misunderstanding?”
I vigorously nodded my head in response to his question. The moment when he let out a brief smile, the favorability bar plummeted once again.

Allen Basilic’s current favorability: 3% -〉 1% ]
Ah, really, stop going down!
“You, you’re not even making eye contact with me, s-so what’s the misunderstanding?”
The sharpness of his words made me hold my breath for a moment. It was true that I hadn’t made eye contact with Allen, but that was solely to check his favorability rating hovering above his head. However, even if that was the case, I couldn’t bring myself to admit it, so I could only keep my mouth shut in frustration.
I quickly rolled my brain, wishing that I could somehow reverse the system’s choice in the system window, given the plummeting number was steeper than I had anticipated, but there was no way to reverse the choice I had made.
Unless I die and start this game all over again from the beginning.
“It, it seems you’re even telling me lies now.”
I closed my eyes tightly as I listened to his condescending tone and sarcasm.
With only 1% of favorability rating left, it wouldn’t be surprising if it disappeared at any moment. If it fell below 0, it was now time for me to receive a penalty.
My throat, parched from tension, felt a sense of crisis. I felt a belated regret. Perhaps instead of rejecting him, I should have just opened his route, at least because Allen was someone who was full of entitlement and paranoia.
At that moment, a chilling voice came from right behind me.
“What are you doing with my sister right now, Your Highness Basilic?”
I whirled around hastily at the voice that sounded sweeter than any other sound in this moment.
A neatly combed silver hair and lowered grayish eyes were looking at Allen. Allen, whose eyes widened for a moment as if surprised by Heron’s appearance, soon returned the greeting.
“It, it’s been a while. L, Lord Aidelis.”
Despite his greeting, Heron’s gaze remained icy. His gaze flickered back and forth between my face and Allen’s for a moment before he opened his mouth in a low voice as if he were holding back anger.
“No matter how high your royal title may be, persecuting Aidelis is out of the question.”
“L, Lord.”
“She’s not even a man, Your Highness.”
Allen visibly flinched at the frosty tone in Heron’s voice as he struggled to contain his anger.
“There, there seems to have been a misunderstanding.”
“A misunderstanding?”
“Y-yes! It’s not like I intended for this from the beginning…!”
“I witnessed with my own two eyes that you cornered my sister in this remote alley, and yet you’re all saying it’s my misunderstanding?”
Heron’s words, meticulously dissecting the situation, left Allen speechless. I felt like I was going to burst out laughing at the look in Allen’s eyes as he glanced at the sword Heron was wearing at his waist.
The reason I found him uncomfortable was precisely because of that attitude.
