I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 95
Chapter 95
A new morning dawned. After breakfast, while we relaxed in the guest room, I cautiously broached the subject.
“Zion, Tommy. Did anything happen to you last night?”
“No, nothing happened to me.”
“Me neither. Why?”
I recounted the events of the previous night. Zion, who had been listening intently, suddenly pressed his forehead against mine.
“Z-Zion?” I stammered, taking a step back in surprise. His golden eyes crinkled at the edges as he observed my flustered reaction.
“Thankfully, your fever seems to have subsided.” He then knelt down on one knee and gently touched my ankle. “Your ankle is still quite swollen. You should stay in your room and rest today. No wandering around.”
“No, it’s fine. Thanks to the butler’s treatment, it doesn’t hurt much anymore…”
“Even so, it’s not allowed,” he declared firmly, then sighed deeply. “Heyna, you need to take better care of yourself.”
“Huh?”
“Injured like this while I wasn’t looking… Honestly, I can’t take my eyes off you for a second.”
‘What’s it to you?’
This guy, who was always so suspicious of me, suddenly acting concerned felt less heartwarming and more uncomfortable.
“Zion, I appreciate the concern, but you don’t have to worry so much.”
“No matter how much you insist, it’s not happening this time.”
“This isn’t me being stubborn…”
“You know I’m saying this for your own good, right?”
Even if he was genuinely concerned… ‘It’s too much!’ He was treating me like a child, using that condescending tone and cutting me off before I could finish speaking. ‘Is this what he means by wanting to protect someone?’
“I can’t stand watching this lovey-dovey act. Give it a rest. Heyna’s not a kid,” Tommy scoffed.
‘Yes!’ I cheered internally. Tommy’s sarcasm had never been so welcome.
“Is Heyna even your girlfriend?” he continued.
‘Go, Tommy!’ Even if we were a couple, Zion’s behavior was excessive.
“No.”
“So then…”
“Not yet.”
‘Not yet?’ I was dumbfounded by his statement, ripe with potential for misunderstanding. ‘Not yet? I have absolutely no intention of becoming your girlfriend!’
“Ahem,” Zion cleared his throat.
‘Why is he acting like this?’ I was disgusted by Zion’s cryptic behavior when suddenly Tommy’s voice echoed in my mind. “…Are you two dating or something?” It was a scenario I didn’t remember, yet felt strangely familiar, unfolding like a panorama in my head.
“No.”
“So then, what…?”
“Not yet.”
When I heard that same answer from my memory, just like Zion’s a moment ago… ‘I didn’t dislike it like I did just now.’ Not at all. In fact, it made my heart flutter.
The same situation, the same words, yet the feelings they evoked were completely different. Perhaps because I had feelings for him. I had such strong feelings for him, yet why couldn’t I even remember his face?
“So you’re saying you’re not together yet?” Tommy clarified.
“That’s right. But, Tommy, even if we aren’t dating, friends can still worry about each other, can’t they?” Zion responded smoothly.
“Worrying is fine, but it looks to me like Heyna is uncomfortable,” Tommy pointed out.
Zion’s eyebrow twitched. His lips still held a smile, but his eyes had gone cold. “Do you have feelings for Heyna, Tommy?”
“Huh? What nonsense.”
“Otherwise, there’s no reason for you to interfere like this.”
Tommy fell silent at Zion’s sharp remark.
‘This atmosphere is really strange.’ It felt like Zion and Tommy were fighting over me.
“Both of you, stop it,” I intervened before things could escalate further. “Zion, I’m sorry, but Tommy’s right. Honestly, I was a little uncomfortable.”
Zion’s previously triumphant expression darkened. It was clear that continuing this conversation would only further decrease his affection points. But I had to say what needed to be said. “I appreciate your concern, but I’m not a child. I can take care of myself. So please don’t force things on me like that.”
[‘Zion’s’ favorability for ‘Heyna’ has decreased by 1.]
‘I knew it.’ My predictions were never wrong. ‘You think you’re the only one whose favorability points decreased? Same here, you jerk.’ Of course, Zion didn’t have any affection points to lose in my eyes. I wouldn’t take a narrow-minded person who lost affection points over something they didn’t want to hear even if they offered me a fortune!
“I’m sorry. I think I was a bit overbearing because I was worried about you, Heyna,” Zion said, trying to hide his hurt feelings. A brief silence followed.
I broke the awkward atmosphere. “I’ve been thinking about this chapter, and something seems off. All the previous chapters had missions, right? But this one doesn’t.”
[Chapter 3 – A Wonderful and Pleasant Break]
When we first saw the chapter title, we all thought it was strange that there was no mission. But the sudden appearance of Pulse had made us forget about it momentarily.
